Ok, apparently all it takes is a new ipod for my muse to come running back from Cancun or where ever the hell she's been. This is the last bit she gave tho.
'Oh god.' Sasuke thought. His head throbbing with his heart beat. 'I'm never drinking again.' he thought as the pounding in his head seem to get worse. And what the hell was that beeping? Sasuke was feeling sluggish and stiff. And it seemed like it was more that just his head that hurt.
His back screamed in protest as he tried to shift to relieve some of the stiffness in his body. He couldn't even gasp as his chest froze in pain. The rhythm of his head throbbing changed with his heart and so did that beeping thing near him.
He could suddenly hear a feminine voice near his ear but the pounding made it little more than a vague sound, the words lost to him. It took his muddled mind a few minutes to realize what the beeping and strange voice where.
He was in a hospital.
'Well, shit. What happened this time?' he thought. Sasuke suddenly noticed a cold feeling in his arm. The pain in his head and back seemed to fade, leaving him sleepy.
With the pain no longer keeping him awake he drifted off easily.
The beeping. The beep beep beep, that could only be the mental torture of a heart monitor. Beep beep beep. God his head hurt. And that beeping was going to drive him insane.
Sasuke couldn't move, the pain when he so much as tried to scrunch hie eyes nearly making him black out again. His chest felt really tight, and it was hard to breath. He began to panic. He couldn't draw a breath. His chest was too heavy, he hurt too much.
The beep beep beep began to speed up. And the more he tried to breath the more he hurt. Sasuke was so panicked he didn't even feel the little prick in his arm as, again, the cold feeling spread from his arm to the rest of him, soothing him.
The pain faded and he could breath again. The beeping slowed down and before he could stop it he was sinking into the calm blackness again.
That goddamned beeping was back.
Beep, Beep, Beep. Over and over again.
'God, turn it off already!'
It was louder that ever and only served to make his headache worse. Breathing was a little easier than the last time but still harder than it should be. As Sasuke became more awake he could hear more than the beeping.
He could hear voices again. A man and woman this time. The man seemed like he should be familiar, like Sasuke should know him, but his mind was too muddled to put together more than his hatred of the beeping.
Before he even made the decision to his eyes opened. The light in the room had been turned down, so Sasuke wasn't blinded right away at least.
He could hear the male voice call to him and it took almost all of his strength to turn his head to look at him. What little light in the room seemed to come from the man beside him. His hair was like sunlight taking what little light the room had and shining with it.
His eyes made Sasuke think of flying, like the blue sky had decided to grace him with its presents in the dingy room. Sasuke would also swear that he could see the hint of a rainbow in them.
'What did they give me?' Sasuke though hazily, blinking up at the shiny god. The god then smiled at him and Sasuke thought that he could die happy now.
Sasuke could hear the woman trying to get his attention but it was a futile effort. How could he look away from god himself? He saw the god say something to the woman and when Sasuke blinked there was someone leaning over gods shoulder.
She seemed to be asking him something but the words made no scene to him. He could hear them but could not make heads to tails of them. Not that it would do much good if he could. His mouth was so dry and his tongue felt heavy in his mouth.
He could feel his eyes getting heaver the longer he held them open. He was fading fast an there was nothing he could do to stop it. He wanted to look at the god some more, but was helpless to the heaviness that settled over him.
The last thing Sasuke heard was the god whispering in he's ear.
"Don't worry, I'll be here when you wake up again."
That, Sasuke understood.
Sasuke had been waking sporadically over the last few days. He had a severe concussion and a few cracked ribs from being thrown into the building. Itachi had to help with Naruto after that. But at least Sasuke had been out for the next few minutes.
Deidara had taken Sasuke to the hospital while him and Kiba had worked on Naruto. To call the hour and a half after that hellacious was being nice. He had needed to be shot three more times before all the the buck shot was out of his wing.
And then it was another hour before he was healed enough to 'put his wings away', as he had put it. After trying to figure out what hospital Sasuke had ended up in. Naruto made a few calls to some people Itachi would rather not know about, trying to find how Deidara got possessed and where the demon came from.
He was still waiting to hear back from them last Itachi heard.
Itachi sighed. First Sasuke's kidnapped and now he's in the hospital. Deidara keeping his distance hadn't really helped either. He felt bad even knowing it really wasn't his fault.
'Why did I have to fall in love just when things have to hit the fan?' Itachi pondered. He really did love the bouncy blond. After countless boyfriend and dead end relationships he finally found someone who didn't bore him after a few days. Deidara was fun, he made Itachi forget that he was someone important and not just some guy looking for what everyone else is.
And then he had to be possessed. Itachi would be lucky it Dei even wanted to look at him again, much less stay with him. Itachi sighed again, thinking about the key in his pocket.
He had planed to give it to Dei the night he had been taken. He hadn't even heard from him in two days now. Had Itachi been a lesser man he might have cried.
"I need a vacation." he mumbled just before his phone went off.
"Uchiha." He answered.
"Hello this is Doctor Tsunade, from Konoha general hospital. I'm calling to inform you that your brothers condition has changed. But I'm not allowed to say anything over the phone. Do you know when I can expect you to come in?"
"Now. I'll be there in fifteen minutes."
