Chapter 11 Naruto didn’t sleep or eat as he made his way home, as fast as he could go. The forests of Fire Country were ahead of him in the distance as he raced across the rock and sand of the desert. The sky was becoming light again, and he knew if he ran hard he could be home by nightfall. The trees were now within reach and he leapt to the first with enthusiasm. The last of his clones had finally returned to him, and the bandits that had bothered his new friends were no more. The transferred memory of his new friends’ relief and happiness was a balm to his strained body. His heart was light, and it only increased with thoughts of Shino. He refused to dwell on the prophesy until he had a chance to rest and think clearly again. There was a flash of light to his left, and Naruto couldn’t tell right away what it was so he kept going, but slowed down a bit. He kept his movements as natural as possible and made it look as though the most convenient limbs to leap to were further away to see if the flashes would follow. They did, and Naruto was on it in a flash, but his attack was too far gone to stop when he realized who it was. His Rasengan slid easily straight through the center of Shino’s chest and through the tree behind him as well. His eyes wide and unseeing for a moment before the rest of his body dissolved into a cloud of small black bodies flapping furious wings to get away. They reformed on a limb across from Naruto and Shino’s clone glared at him. Naruto dropped to his knees hard, and immediately emptied the bile from his stomach onto the ground below. Tears were streaked down his face, and his whole body shook with the shock of what he’d done. All he could think was how it could have been Shino, and he would be dead. The clone shyly leaped to his limb and inched closer to rest a hand on Naruto’s shoulder. Naruto reached up and took it in his own before pulling Shino close and allowed himself to let the fear go. “He sent me to track you down after you didn’t come back. He’s close.” They stayed like that for a long time, Naruto trying to get the shock out of his system and Shino’s clone holding him close. The limb bowed a bit suddenly and the clone in his arms disintegrated into a million tiny Kikaichu. They flew away, and Naruto looked up to see them slowly funneling into his Shino’s sleeve. He felt weak, but it didn’t matter because Shino was there in an instant to take the burden from him. He held Naruto close as they leapt to the ground. When Shino tried to pull away though, Naruto lost it. He had Shino against the trunk of a tree, and half undressed before he even realized what he was doing, and by then he couldn’t stop… wasn’t willing anyway. His pack had what he needed to ease the way, and then he was there, pressing into Shino, unprepared and panting against the rough bark. Naruto slid in just a bit and waited. Shino was keening softly shifted a little to rest his forehead against his arms. Naruto leaned against him and bit into his shoulder hard before he thrust in all the way. It was brutal in a way that Naruto rarely allowed himself, but he could feel the red seeping into his eyes and hovering around him in an aura he could barely control. This wasn’t him making love to Shino, it was the primal beast in him taking what was his. Fangs elongated and pierced pale flesh as he fucked Shino hard, dominating him and chasing the fear away. In the back of his head he knew Shino wasn’t ready for this, wasn’t ready to know what lay beneath the calm and collected man Naruto had become. He was feral and on the brink of violence. His nails shaped into claws and cut into Shino’s hips as he pulled back on him with every thrust. Animalistic growls and grunts tore from his throat and he released Shino’s shoulder to lick at the wounds and admire the mark. Shino’s sudden climax rocked Naruto to the core and sent him crashing over the edge. His hips slammed hard one last time into Shino and held tight as each pulse was torn from him. The guilt and fear hit him quickly, and he pulled away, tearing a cry from Shino at the loss. He dropped to his knees looking down at himself seeing the evidence of Shino’s pain all over his hands and his waning erection. The guilt he felt wasn’t so much over what he’d done though, as the timing. He’d wanted a chance to explain what might happen to Shino before it came to this, but the idea of killing his lover had nearly broken him and healing like this was the only thing he knew. It had not happened all that often when he was younger, but when it did the first time Shino had left him for a time. He’d said he needed time to heal, but Naruto knew it was more than that. He’d come back weeks later and they’d talked for a long time. Everything had been ok after that, but their relationship was stable and much older than what he had right now. Shino moved to kneel in front of him and Naruto had to look away from the streaks of blood on his thighs. “It’s not as bad as it looks Naruto.” Naruto had to look up then to see for himself if he was dreaming or not. Shino wasn’t mad or hurt or scared. His smile was calm and completely open as if he… “You knew…” Shino leaned in and kissed him gently before hugging him close. He petted Naruto’s hair as if to calm the beast in him, and whispered to him, “I’ve always known. I can’t say I was looking forward to it, but I knew. It was much better than I imagined actually.” Naruto laughed and pulled him closer. He was tired again, but with the animal in him locked away again he could clearly understand why. He hadn’t slept or eaten in days. It was an immature thing to do, and he felt very young. Especially when Shino cleaned him with gentle hands and set up camp. He was fed and laid down in the tent under thin blankets with Shino wrapped around him. It was what he needed and for once he let himself enjoy it. Comfort was so rare to him that he cherished each touch and gesture. “Love you.” Naruto whispered with a yawn and felt Shino’s arms tighten around him before he fell asleep. ooOOoo Morning came way too early for Naruto even though he knew he’d slept nearly 24 hours. He stretched long and hard, enjoying the oxygen shock making his muscles shake in pleasure. He was hungry he thought vaguely, but mostly he needed to pee, but that was proving difficult with Shino the leach clinging to him in a slumbering death grip. Naruto laughed quietly, but the need was becoming urgent, and his need to not wake Shino was quickly being over ruled. He rolled out from under his lover as gently as he could and rearranged the blanket to lie across Shino before leaving the tent to take care of business. He found his pack and rifled through it finding is canteen and took long pulls off it until the cool settled comfortably in his stomach. He poured some over his face and scrubbed with his hands before pulling out his towel and drying off. A cool wind swept past him and he breathed in deep and long as he focused his thoughts. Sleep deprivation and slight starvation were primarily responsible for his grievous lack of judgment, and it had nearly cost his lover his life. There was no real damage done, but he couldn’t shake the image in his head. He’d never had trouble focusing on a mission before, but learning what he had was more of a shock than he’d been able to handle. Knowing this he realized he should have stayed the night before coming back and sent a hawk to relay to the village that he was ok, but hindsight is always 20/20 and there wasn’t anything he could do about it now but not make the same mistake again. His reaction to seeing Shino again had been a lack of control he was accustomed to. He’d never liked how his fear allowed the beast free, even if it was just for a bit, but there was no stopping it once it was out. The only option was to ride it out as best he could, and Shino had been perfect. The diary must have had enough information to prepare his new lover, but it couldn’t have been enough to really prepare him. Naruto couldn’t help but think that this Shino had grown up without the fears he had when he was young, and therefore was more able to accept the slight violence of the situation and focus mainly on the possessive passion Naruto was displaying. It was the only explanation Naruto had for many of the differences between his two lovers in this situation as well as many others. Getting used to the difference had been difficult at first because all he’d wanted to see was the other Shino, but now he was grateful to the little nuances that made them different. They helped him to always see exactly who he was with, and there was no mistaking exactly who he’d been with yesterday. This was a positive turn of events at this point, and even though he wished there could have been another way, it worked out well and he wouldn’t complain. Shino woke a short time later with a strained smile on his face that didn’t quite meet his eyes. His back was board straight and he walked with a mild limp. When he lifted his right arm at the shoulder the movements were stilted and lacked fluidity, but none of those things kept Shino from touching him every chance he got. There was nothing inviting about those touches, but they were warm and affectionate, and made Naruto feel wanted for something more than sex. It was all that was between them so far, but now he could see what he’d wanted all along. He could see the future. ooOOoo They headed back early the next day when Shino started to feel better. His wounds had been superficial for the most part and he was starting to give Naruto heated looks again so he decided they’d waited long enough. They took their time leaping through the trees, sometimes racing, sometimes showing off with stunts and sometimes just going slow and watching each other from the corners of their eyes. They made it to the gate by evening and walked together to the Hokage’s office where Naruto was going to give his report. The office was empty so Naruto sent Shino off to go get cleaned up while he went to his rooms to shower. The hot water was amazing, and he spent more time than usual letting it rain down over his body loosening tight muscles and easing his mind. The mirror was completely fogged over when he got out. He dried off leisurely, and gave his hair a good hard rub with the towel before dropping it on the counter. He ran his fingers through it to tame it a bit before stepping into the bedroom and into the cool air. There was a gasp across the room and he turned to see Sasuke sitting on his bed staring at him with wide eyes that were focused directly on his unclothed cock. “Sasuke…” Naruto said shyly and backed into the bathroom quickly. He grabbed his towel, and wrapped it around his waist before stepping out again. Sasuke was tomato red and looking hard at the floor, but the prominent tent in his pants let Naruto know immediately that the blush wasn’t caused by his being naked, but by Sasuke’s obvious attraction to him. It hit Naruto like a swift kick to the groin and the world tilted for a moment before it set itself right again. This was the part he didn’t want to relive. Hurting another Sasuke was not even feasible. He couldn’t do it, not again. “What are you doing here?” Naruto tried for nonchalant but it came out forced, and Sasuke flinched. ”I just heard you were back, and wanted to see you.” His eyes never left the floor, and Naruto was grateful for the modicum of privacy as he found clean clothes and got dressed. He moved slowly as if he were approaching a wild animal and sat down on the bed next to Sasuke, leaving enough room between them to be comfortable. The silence stretched before Naruto finally spoke. “Do you want to talk about it?” Sasuke shook his head hard and his hands fisted so tight it must have been painful. Naruto didn’t know what to do or even what to say. His Sasuke hadn’t been shy at all. When he realized that he wanted Naruto he’d just come out and said it. He’d also been much older and much more mature even for his age. This Sasuke was a boy in every way, and that eased Naruto’s mind a little because it could be a harmless crush that would wane with time. “It’s ok, you know. I’m not mad at you. I just don’t want to hurt you…” Naruto didn’t get to finish what he wanted to say because suddenly he had an armful of very aroused boy. Naruto was so surprised that when Sasuke’s lips met his, for a moment he kissed him back. It was a huge mistake, and made pushing Sasuke off of him so much harder. “Stop Sasuke…” Naruto mumbled out as he wrestled with Sasuke who’d suddenly turned into a spider monkey. “I promise you won’t hurt me. I’ve been doing a lot of reading and sex doesn’t have to hurt, and there are so many other things we can do. I don’t really know what I’m doing, but I promise I’ll make it good for you. You can just tell me what you want and I’ll do it…” Finally Naruto gave up trying to be gentle and shoved Sasuke to the floor. “Stop!” They were both panting, but the fervor in Sasuke’s eyes had dimmed slightly. “That wasn’t what I meant. I’m your Sensei. It would be inappropriate, and you are way too young. You should find someone your own age in town. There are plenty of available young men and women in town that I’m sure would jump at the opportunity.” Sasuke was still kneeling on the floor in front of him, but now he had a shamefully childish, and somewhat cute, pout on his face. His arms were crossed over his chest defensively and his eyes were on the floor again. “Are you done?” Naruto couldn’t keep the shock from crossing his face at the petulance of his voice. He just nodded slowly as he watched the boy in front of him fill with indignant determination, and hoped that this would be over soon. Shino could be back any minute and this could get ugly. “Good, because everything you just said is ridiculous. I’m only a few years younger than Aburame, and I’m a far better Shinobe than he is. The fact that you’re my Sensei means that you can’t really be with any of the Shinobi in the village because you’re the oldest and most experienced Shinobi in the village and therefore all of our Sensei including my father. You spend almost all of your time with me when you don’t have to so I can’t believe that there’s nothing between us especially after you kissed me.” Naruto couldn’t look him in the eyes. He just shook his head, and tried not to run from the room. This boy was so sure of himself. It was just like an Uchiha to be so calculating and methodical. He’d obviously known what Naruto’s reaction would be, and had prepared to fight for what he wanted. Naruto couldn’t argue with his rationale, but the fact remained… he was already involved. Naruto took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He looked up with fierce eyes and Sasuke visibly withered a bit. “I know you think this is what you want, but you need to hear me when I say this. I won’t be this way with you. I can’t. I’m already in a relationship with Shino, and it’s shaky right now so I won’t do anything to mess it up, and he’s very defensive when it comes to you.” Naruto knelt down on the floor and took Sasuke’s hands in his. “I know this isn’t what you want to hear, and I know it hurts, but this is the best way I know how to tell you. I will not have you pining away looking for any cracks to exploit. I’m not as strong as I used to be, and I do have a weakness when it comes to you, but you’ll only hurt me if you pursue this. Please…” Naruto’s heart was in his eyes, and he tried as hard as he could to convey everything he was feeling in that look. A tear slipped down Sasuke’s face, but the defiance was gone. He nodded, but when Naruto tried to let his hands go he tightened his grip. “I’ll do what you want if you give me one thing.” Naruto was afraid to ask, but the need to end this confrontation and hide for a while was strong in him so he nodded. “Kiss me.” Naruto jerked his hands from Sasuke’s and stood up. He tried to back away but his legs hit the bed, and he lost his balance, bouncing when he sat back down. Sasuke crawled to him and looked up with grief and longing so fierce that Naruto wanted to look away, but he couldn’t do that. He’d done this, somehow this was his fault. Fate was cruel. “Please. Just so I know that you’re not just taking the easiest road. That you’re not turning your back on something that could be better without even knowing. I need you to choose, not just turn me down just to save his feelings. You’re worth more than that.” Naruto reached out and brushed the tear track away with the pad of his thumb before resting his hand on Sasuke’s cheek. Sasuke turned his face into the touch and closed his eyes. Naruto slide back down to the floor to kneel in front of him. There wasn’t much room, but he didn’t mind being so close. He leaned in slowly letting Sasuke feel every moved as he came closer until their lips met. Sasuke’s hands wrapped around his waist and Naruto’s moved to soft black hair. The kiss was tender and exploring, but turned quickly to passionate and fierce as Naruto allowed himself to let go. Things got out of hand quickly. Sasuke was pulling at his shirt and Naruto was holding onto him like he was the only thing keeping him on the ground. Sasuke pressed closer and Naruto felt hardness slide along his own, and that was what woke him up. He pushed Sasuke back and stood up trying to get his body under control. He’d never allowed his Sasuke the opportunity to get inside his defenses like that before and it was unsettling how much he’d actually enjoyed it, but the fact remained that he was with Shino. “I know you felt it too. Why are you being so stubborn?” Sasuke was standing in front of him looking petulant again at not getting his way. Naruto had also forgotten how spoiled Uchiha’s were, and how badly they dealt with not getting what they wanted. “I’m not being stubborn, I’m being honest with you. I did what you asked, and yes, obviously, I’m attracted to you, but that doesn’t change the fact that I’m with someone else. I don’t think we should see each other for a while. We can start your training again in a week or two when you’ve cooled down. I haven’t, and won’t, change my mind about this, and I won’t go through this again. If you can’t work past this I will give your father your lessons.” “Ok, ok. You don’t have to threaten to never speak to me again. I get it. I just…” “I know Sasuke, and I honestly never wanted this to happen but… you have to let this go. You will only hurt us both if you don’t. You should go now. I’ll see you later.” Sasuke tried to say more, but Naruto held his hand up, and he stopped before anything came out. He nodded once and turned to leave, but looked back once he reached the door. Naruto met his eyes for a long moment before looking away, and was relieved when he heard the door close softly behind him. Naruto roughly rubbed his hands over his face and then through his hair. He needed another shower otherwise Shino would smell Sasuke all over him, and there was no telling what kind of reaction he’d get from that. This time it was quick, and he dressed in clean clothes again. The walk to the Hokage’s office was short and uneventful. When he opened to door he was greeted with a weary smile. “You took longer than you were supposed to…” Naruto took a seat in the chair in front of the Hokage’s desk and leaned back. “It was an enlightening mission that actually affected me personally. I thought pursuing it was the right thing to do.” Nodoka nodded, “And what did you find?” Naruto went on to explain everything that happened and what he’d learned. Nodoka leaned forward, resting his arms on his desk as he listened about the prophesy. “You didn’t try to persuade her to come here? Why?” Nodoka’s eyes looked hungry at the mention of a seer, and Naruto wasn’t surprised to see a bit of greed in them as well. “She is quite happy where she is. She wouldn’t have left her family if I’d asked, so I didn’t bother.” “I’m sure it will be no problem to dispatch a team right away to retrieve her, so it’s no problem…” Naruto shot to his feet and slapped his hands down on the desk hard, breaking the Hokage’s train of thought off and making him flinch. “You will not. She is a very troubled girl that has a hard live ahead of her that she can see! I will not allow you to take away what little happiness she has with her family for your own selfish greed.” Nodoka’s eyes turned red and the tomes turned slowly as he stood up to his full height. Naruto cursed Uchiha’s for their height as he rose from his chair. “You do not make the decisions in this village anymore Naruto Sama, and you certainly don’t demand or deny anything of me. I am the Hokage, and if I want to send for the girl then I will and you can’t stop me.” “That’s where you’re wrong Nodoka. I can and will stop you. This doesn’t have to come between us, but I will leave here, and protect her if you even think about doing this again. You don’t really have any idea of what I’m truly capable of. Reading about some things isn’t exactly the same as seeing them, and I can guarantee you that words really aren’t enough to describe exactly what I’m capable of.” The tomes began to spin faster Naruto prepared himself to be sucked in at any moment. “You can’t stand there and threaten me, and then expect me to not take offence. Seers are rare and so valuable that there’s nothing to compare. I can’t in good conscience ignore her existence, if for no other reason than to protect the village from her visions. Having her here could save lives, and that is more valuable to me than losing you.” Naruto took a deep breath and got his temper under control. Things would only end badly if they both lost their tempers. “I’m not threatening you, I’m telling you what will happen if you do this. I am warning you so that you can think this through more clearly and make the right decision. You don’t need her here, and if you’ll calm down and let me explain why, this can end without anyone getting hurt.” The Hokage was too far gone by then. He wanted the seer, and he was under the impression that he could have her. Naruto regretted momentarily that he’d been so circumspect about his abilities so far. It was obvious that Nodoka had more confidence than he should. The edges of Naruto’s vision wavered like a mirage, and he knew he was inside a genjutsu. He shook his head and stepped back from the desk pushing the chair out of the way, and let it happen. Nodoka was on him punching and kicking so fast anyone else would have missed even flashes of him as he moved, but Naruto just stood firm, and allowed it to happen, after all it was just a genjutsu, and though he couldn’t break it, he could consciously decide not to allow himself to be affected. Nodoka leapt back behind his desk after a moment and just stared at him. “Why won’t you fight back?” He panted out as he tried to catch his breath. “Because it’s a genjutsu, and it would be a waste of time. You can only hurt me if I believe you are hurting me so your effort is wasted. I can drive you to blindness if you’d like, but the result will still be the same. You can’t win. I think you’ve forgotten that Sasuke was my best friend for many years. There were things he taught me that he didn’t teach anyone else. Most importantly, he taught me how to defend myself against him. He never wanted anyone to be able to use his eyes against me like you are doing right now.” The genjutsu ended and Nodoka feel to his knees. Naruto felt a wave of vertigo, but it passed quickly. “I don’t want to fight you. I don’t really want to fight anyone, I just want to live my life. But I can’t stand by and allow you to hurt innocent people. She is innocent and young, and worse than that she’s tormented with the knowledge that her life will never be normal. Do you really want to hurt her more?” Nodoka put a hand on his desk and lifted himself into his chair. He looked up at Naruto with new respect and a little awe before shaking his head. “No, I don’t want to hurt her, but she could tell us so many things. We could know attacks were coming before they happened, we could plan missions to prevent the devastation of villages everywhere. We could learn so much.” “I never said those things weren’t true, but we don’t need to kidnap her to get that information. She will willingly give it to me if I asked, and we have messenger hawks that can be there in a day.” Nodoka relaxed a bit then, and leaned back looking up into Naruto’s clear blue eyes. “You really think she’d tell you? How do you know she won’t inform us of what she thinks we should know and keep the rest to herself?” Naruto sat back down in his chair that was right were it had been before he’d been sucked into the genjutsu, and sighed. “Yes, she will tell me everything, and won’t hide anything from me. We have some kind of connection. Her first prophesy was about me, and I think that most of what she sees has something to do with me. She will most likely require compensation since her village is small and not wealthy, and also our silence. People have already tried to get to her and she’s lost people she loves because of it. As long as you give me your word you won’t tell anyone about her, I will make sure you know everything she sees.” Nodoka had no argument after that, and Naruto was glad to leave him soon after. He’d had just about enough of Uchiha men for the time being, and a bowl of ramen with his lover sounded like just the thing to improve his mood. ooOOoo I hope you liked it!
