Chapter 11
Even if they were lucky enough none of the enemy ninja knew of its existence he’d discharged too much chakra for Arisa and certainly any jounin level tracker not to notice. The summons and drugs would only work for so long. They would be found in a matter of hours. Kakashi was in no shape to fight and there wasn’t much he could do single handedly against several squads of ninja in open combat. He’d planned to lay low in case Kakashi was injured, but he never imagined the man would be in such bad condition. They had to move. People with pneumonia should not be teleported otherwise the time space jump could damage the lung tissue. He prayed there was no such edict about being summoned. He carefully nicked Kakashi’s finger and smeared the blood across his own fingers and made the seals for summoning. He hoped the dog he got was the same one he met in the forest but he still prepared himself to be bitten. “I thought you said he was weak and you were the only one he could summon.” A dog wearing sunglasses whined while nudging a smaller one. “Glad you’re feeling ...” the pug began and stopped abruptly to growl at the foreign chakra covering him. Iruka stood still as a statue, head lowered, arms out stretched and palms turned upward as he addressed the four growling dogs in front of him. “I’m a Konoha ninja. We met in the forest. I rescued Kakashi-san from the dungeon, but he is sick and injured. We can’t stay here or he’ll be recaptured. Can you please help me help Kakashi-san?” Iruka didn’t flinch when the bandage covered greyhound wrapped her teeth around his fingers. He’d taught several Inuzukas, most of whose dogs hit their growth spurts way before Akamaru. He knew this was a dog’s way of testing sincerity. He forced himself to remain still when the dog’s mouth worked its way up his hand. He spoke up when a smaller dog began making similar nibbles at his ankles. “I understand you have to test me, but please don’t damage the suit. I’ll need it to move Kakashi-san if you’re unable to assist me.” At this statement the teeth gently pressing against his hand was replaced by licking. “He’s good. He didn’t flinch at the nibble test and only said something about the suit to help Boss,” the greyhound explained. She gave Iruka’s fingers one last lick and before sitting on her haunches. “It’s too bad. You’re quite tasty and your flesh has a firm but chewy consistency” The pug rolled his eyes at his comrade’s statement before introducing himself “I’m Pakkun. How can we help, Ramen-sensei?” “Can you take him with you to your dimension? I’ll teleport to a safer location and summon you and him. Do you trust me to take some of his blood with me to do the summoning? I don’t mind if one of you comes with me. I know you’re protective of Kakashi-sensei and you don’t really know me.” Iruka rubbed his fingers across the greyhound’s head further endearing him to her good graces. This time another small dog with a tattoo on his forehead spoke up. “We know you Ramen-sensei. You smell like Boss’s student. The loud orange one that smells like ramen and looks like…oww, what was that for Akino?” “You’re not supposed to talk about that or Naruto.” The larger dog growled nudging smaller one. “Remember?” The dog made the saddest canine expression Iruka had ever seen that was saying something considering the amount of Inuzuka puppies that had passed through his classroom. “But Boss said if anything happened to him we should go to Ramen-sensei and tell him-Oww” “It’s okay. Ninken-san. Now isn’t the time to reveal secrets. Kakashi-sensei will be fine. I just have to get him somewhere safe and dry so I can tend to him.” Iruka said smiling at the dogs and the other man’s trust in him regarding Naruto’s well being. “We can take him back with us, but first tell us where you are going?” Pakkun asked suspiciously. No one had ever broken his tie to Kakashi and he was upset this chuunin had been able to do so. Iruka scrambled to his belongings and pulled out the map that showed both the cave and safe houses. He was tracing a route between the two points when the dogs started laughing. “What?” “Sensei I have a question.” Shiba, the one with glasses stated raising one paw. He waited until Iruka stopped talking. “So where’s the best tree in that forest?” This set the all the dogs howling and rolling about. “While that presentation has been very entertaining, you’re missing something very important.” Pakkun managed to word between amused yelping. “Well forgive me for my ignorance,” Iruka huffed. “You’re not ordinary dogs and very intelligent. I assumed you’d be able to read it.” This pleased all four dogs and they crowded around licking him. “Where is this place and how can we recognize it?” “I’m not sure.” Iruka explained. “I’m not even supposed to know about it or share its location but this is an emergency so I figured the Hokage would forgive me. Tsunade-sama told me it was a safe house used during the war.” “A safe house from Tsunade-hime? That’s all you had to say.” Three larger dogs disappeared leaving Iruka alone with the pug then reappeared with two bull dogs large enough to eat him. “This is Belle-sama,” the pug nodded to a smaller of the two dogs with a blue bow on her stubby tail. “This is her son, Bull”, he said nodding to the other dog. “Bull fought with Boss during the Third War and Belle-sama fought alongside his father and Tsunade-hime during the Second War. Tell them what you need using military code words and they will most likely know where it is.” Iruka politely bowed to the dogs. “Are either of you familiar with the Cobweb Forest?” The female dog had been eying him warily up to that point. She shifted to an attack stance and growled, “Killer” “Yes, Killer.” Iruka answered. “The Cobweb Forest is full of Killers. There is a safe house where Konoha ninja can rest safely away from the Killers. That’s where I want to take Kakashi-sensei. He’s injured and ill. There are supplies there and we’ll be safe from hunters.” “Cobweb Forest. Killers with spiders,” Belle continued growling baring her still sharp fangs at Iruka and sniffing. “Bloody Sea.” “Okaa-san,” the larger bull dog spoke slowly and respectfully using a tone Iruka had heard his students use with senile grandparents. “Ramen-sensei saved Straw Boss. He needs go the safe house. You know where it is, don’t you? I know the places you went with Big Boss are ones you’d never forget.” Iruka tensed. He could feel the spider crawling behind his ear and knew the older and more experienced war dog could smell it as well as both his parent’s bloodlines. His father had changed his name to Umino, of the sea, from Akaumino, of the bloody sea, when he relocated to Konoha. In her eyes Kakashi had already been captured and she was the only one with the sense to defend him. If this plan was going to work he had to convince her he wasn’t the enemy despite the fact there was Cloud and Mist blood running through his veins and there was indeed a black widow behind his ear. Iruka kneeled and rolled onto his back baring his throat and belly to the angry dog. “Please Belle-sama. I’m not an enemy. Kakashi-sensei is in trouble. I had to use chakra to help him and it won’t be long before hunters sense it. Please Belle-sama, allow me to help Kakashi.” Iruka lay perfectly still when the 140 pound dog stepped onto his stomach and wrapped her jowls around his neck. He began to whisper what something he hoped the older dog would understand, “A Killer had a pup with a fish from the Bloody Sea. The Cobweb Forest and Bloody Sea were no longer safe for them. The Senju Forest has sheltering leaves.” The dog removed her teeth from his neck and pressed her front paws on his chest while resting her haunches on his stomach. “What is Teuchi-chan’s worst flavor?” Iruka laughed “There are no bad flavors at Ichiraku, only the one you like the best.” This seemed to satisfy the dog who stepped off of him. “How do we help Straw Boss? She asked sniffing Kakashi. “He has your scent, but you don’t smell like a medic. Did you mount him?” “No, no, of course not!” Iruka blushed and stammered. “I gave him healing chakra. I’m not a medic but I can use a little of it. I would never mount anyone who was unconscious and defenseless.” He waited nervously while each dog sniffed his crotch and declared him innocent of that particular accusation before explaining his plan. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
