Author's note: Once more sorry for the delay, guys, this is the first chapter I managed to finish this week - by basically writing it in one setting and this site wouldn't let me access on Friday. Master thesis be kicking my butt. I'll try to have some other updates ready this weekend.
Warnings: The moment you've all been waiting for since last chapter
I hope you'll like it!
Chapter 10
Silence reigned for one heartbeat, two heartbeats, three, four …
"Well, in spite of the general fucked upness of the world, I can honestly say I never expected to be confessed to while I'm only wearing a towel," Naruto stated; no particular tone discernible in his voice. His eyes were blank, not revealing anything either.
Sasuke sighed and rubbed his cheeks briskly. Well, at least it wasn't an immediate punch in his face; he was going to take that. "Look, nothing has to change between us, okay? We can just ignore it and - " He reared back when a finger was suddenly almost jabbed into his eye.
"Oh fuck no! You don't get to back out like that, you bastard!" Naruto bristled. "Can't a guy get some time to process the confession first, for fuck's sake!"
"I just don't want you to be uncomfortable," Sasuke started to say, but again he was interrupted by Naruto.
"You just fucking confessed to me when I'm basically naked, you don't get to say shit about not wanting me to be uncomfortable, dude!"
"You could have dressed yourself!" Sasuke argued, gesturing at the bundle of clothes still waiting next to Naruto.
"When? You were the one hellbent on taking care of this!" Naruto waved his hand at this bandaged side.
"Oh, excuse me for wanting to make sure you wouldn't bleed out!" Sasuke retorted sarcastically. "My mistake, obviously I should have just left you to bleed all over my bed."
"Okay, you're exaggerating, I wouldn't have bled out," Naruto scoffed, even as he surreptitiously tried to wipe his bloodied hand off on the towel. "And for your information, you wouldn't have to worry about getting blood on your bed if you hadn't been the one to push me on it."
"Whatever, doesn't matter now, I'm sorry for putting you in this position," Sasuke said, becoming frustrated, and made to stand up.
Before he could even tense his legs, a hand snatched his wrist, tightening around the tendons and keeping him shackled to the bed. His head snapped to Naruto, who was scowling down at the floor, his cheeks slightly reddened. Whether from anger or something else, Sasuke couldn't say.
"Just shut up and give me a moment, all right?" Naruto snapped.
He only let go of Sasuke's hand when the older man nodded and remained silent, relaxing his legs. They sat there in silence for a while; Naruto still staring at the floor, seemingly lost in thoughts, and Sasuke trying hard not to think about how the blond was still basically naked, sitting quite closely next to him. Naruto definitely had to be cold now, especially because his hair was still damp from the shower, and heating was only on for a couple of hours at most, but if he was feeling the lack of clothes, he didn't show it.
When Naruto finally stirred, Sasuke glanced at him from the corner of his eye, wondering whether this was the moment when Naruto would tell him to fuck off. He hadn't even stopped to consider whether Naruto would even be perceptible to the thought of a man confessing to him. Homophobia seemed like such a stupid thing to worry about when the dead were walking about, killing off the living one by one, but the undead hadn't suddenly made everyone decent. Sure, Naruto had been rather … flirty at times, but that didn't always have to mean something. The same could be said of Deidara, but the guy didn't sleep around. He would only have himself to blame if this entire situation went south.
"When you say you want me," Naruto began slowly; his face back to being neutral, "what does that mean for you? Are you – you just want sex or …"
"I want everything you're willing to give me," Sasuke answered promptly and tilted his head to the left. "I suppose sex would be nice, though, but that's not all I want."
"You suppose," Naruto smiled faintly. He sobered up just as quickly. "Why?"
"Why not?"
Naruto jerked his head towards the window. "You could have anyone you want here, so why me?"
"Because I want you," Sasuke answered and sighed when the first spark of irritation flashed up in blue eyes. "You want me to present you an entire essay complete with a whole damn analysis, I can't. I feel drawn to you, I want to get to know you better, I want to be with you however long you want me around. Why do people fall in love? Chemistry, I guess, but I'm not interested in that. I just know that I'm drawn to you and I'd like to know whether we could have more. If you're not interested, just say so, we can just forget about it."
"You're a blunt one," Naruto muttered, scratching the bridge of his nose.
Sasuke raised an eyebrow. "You don't strike me as someone who'd appreciate subtlety."
That made Naruto chortle; his eyes becoming a shade lighter. "No, I suppose I'm not. Never did well with subtle clues and all that." He looked away again, pursing his lips. "You don't really know me, though."
"Wouldn't that be the whole point of dating?" Sasuke pointed out dryly. "You know, getting to know each other better?"
"I guess so," Naruto chuckled and turned around to face Sasuke finally. "You should know, I never dated anyone before."
Sasuke resolutely did not acknowledge the thrill that comment caused. "Neither have I," he chose to say instead.
Naruto raised his eyebrow sceptically, before giving him an obvious look from head to toe. "Right," he drawled.
"Never been interested in someone before," Sasuke explained and shrugged.
"I have been told that I can be too much."
"I think I can handle you," Sasuke smiled and dared to stretch out his pinkie, bumping it against the side of Naruto's hand. "So … That your subtle way of telling me you want to try this out?" He dared not to hope, because Naruto might just be about to let him down gently, but still, this had to be some kind of good sign, right?
"I feel like I shouldn't, because the world is just one giant fuck fest," Naruto mused aloud, his eyes darkened for a couple of seconds before he shook his head. "But fuck it, when have I ever done something sensible in my life? Yeah, I want to try this. Just don't go dying on me soon, all right? Kind of filled my quota when it comes to that for now."
"You and your quota," Sasuke muttered, but he kept smiling. "Can I kiss you?"
"You can, but if you may …" Naruto teased, laughing when Sasuke clucked his tongue.
"Don't be a smartass, it's not cute."
"Oh? I'll have you know I've been told plenty of times in my life that I'm cute," Naruto said offended, jabbing his finger in Sasuke's chest. "Everyone always fucking adores me, okay?"
"Naruto." Sasuke grabbed his finger, lowered it but kept a hold on it and then leant closer to Naruto, so close their breaths mingled together and he could count each separate blond eyelash. "Going to kiss you," he whispered.
"Yeah," Naruto swallowed, his blue eyes wide, "all right."
One heartbeat. Their mouths touched, light and sweet and hesitant, the pressure barely above a butterfly's touch. A hand slid around his shoulder, tapped his shoulder blade before resting in the back of his neck briefly. Trembling fingers threaded through his hair, lax around some of the strands; the touch emboldening Sasuke to surge forwards, putting just the slightest bit of pressure behind their kiss. Naruto's lips moulded against his own, like two pieces of a puzzle slotting together. All Sasuke could focus on were firm lips meeting his own, his blood rushing loudly in his ears, Naruto's quiet hitch when Sasuke's hand landed on his non-injured side, cupping his hip, cool skin heating up underneath his touch.
Naruto pulled away, rested his forehead against Sasuke's shoulder. His quiet chuckle had Sasuke blinking, looking down.
"I hope you didn't find the kiss funny," he mumbled, fascinated with the way blond strands still stuck up unruly in every direction even though Naruto had just come out of the shower.
"Nah, just thinking … Guess my mum ended up being right once again," Naruto said ruefully.
Sasuke carefully ran his fingers through the damp strands, attempting half-heartedly to style them a bit more. "How so?"
"I was shit-faced drunk once, when this whole apocalypse hellhole started," Naruto said casually, turning his face slightly so his words wouldn't be muffled by Sasuke's sweater. He didn't raise his head just yet.
"Your parents let you get drunk?"
"Well, when the dead are having fun, my parents decided that silly laws like underage drinking didn't really matter anymore," Naruto replied lightly. He no longer held the towel in place; instead both his hands gripped Sasuke's sweater. "Anyways, turned out I was a bit maudlin and I was bemoaning the fact that zombies around meant I'd never get my own happily ever after like my parents had."
"Happily ever after?" Sasuke couldn't help but echo amused. He was rewarded for that with a quick pinch to his side, not sharp enough to be really painful but tangible enough to serve as a warning.
"Don't come at me, okay, I loved fairy tales as a kid, what's wrong with that?" Naruto huffed.
"That's cute," Sasuke smiled.
"Oh, now you agree I'm cute," Naruto muttered darkly before continuing, "I might have got shit-faced drunk and said more than I wanted to say, but unfortunately the alcohol didn't wipe my memories, so I remember what mum told me."
"What did she tell you?"
"That no matter the state of the world, I'd find someone for myself one day. I just had to hold on," Naruto answered pensively. "Kind of had forgotten about that conversation to be honest. Was reminded of it just now. I suppose she turned out to be right after all. She was always so annoying when she was right." He chuckled mirthlessly.
"Sounds like your mum was a smart woman," Sasuke murmured, watching goose bumps erupt all over Naruto's naked shoulders when he drew a finger down his back.
"Yeah, she was."
They sat in that same position for a little while longer until Naruto pulled back and rolled his shoulders. He looked down at the towel, mostly dry by now but with streaks of red smeared across it before raising his eyes to look at Sasuke.
"I think I'm going to pull on those clothes now," he announced. "Your room is like an icebox, damn."
"Well, there are ways to warm up," Sasuke said thoughtfully, entranced by the way Naruto was quick to blush now that the flirting was aimed at him.
"Oh man," he laughed and swatted Sasuke's shoulder. "Didn't know you had it in you. Still waters run deep and all that crap, huh?"
"Depends on how deep you like it, I suppose," Sasuke smirked.
"Okay, get out of here so that I can get dressed!" Naruto exclaimed, shooing him off. "I still have some decorum, unlike some here!"
"I don't know about decorum when you're chasing me out of my own room," Sasuke riposted, but stood up anyways. "Come downstairs when you're ready, I'll make you something to eat."
"Dude, a shower and food? I struck the jackpot here!" Naruto laughed. "I'm calling it now, I'm going to be the envy of this compound, every single girl is going to hate my guts now!"
"Not everyone," Sasuke denied, walking to the door. "Maybe around sixty percent."
"Well, that's a number I can live with, I guess," Naruto said humorously and rose up. "I never was that great at mathematics anyways."
After two bowls of vegetable soup topped off with some pieces of chicken, Sasuke walked Naruto to his apartment where Shikamaru was discussing the heating situation with two other men.
"Is it fixed yet?" Sasuke inquired curiously.
Shikamaru glanced at him, did a doubletake at the way Naruto hovered closely behind Sasuke, but mercifully didn't make a big deal out of it. "Nearly," he replied while the other two descended into the basement again. "Think it might take us another hour, maybe two if we're really unlucky, but it should be finished by tonight. Sorry, but your apartment is probably going to be a freezer right now," he aimed his apology at Naruto.
"Mah, doubt it'd be much worse than Sasuke's bedroom is," Naruto retorted cheerfully and ascended the stairs, already digging around in his bag for his key.
"He's been in your bedroom?" Shikamaru asked neutrally, but the corners of his mouth were trembling as if he was trying to suppress a smile.
Sasuke rolled his eyes up to the ceiling, imagining he could see Naruto smirking all the way up to his apartment. "He looked like he'd rolled around in zombie guts, so I told him he could use the shower at my house to clean up. Gave him some of my clothes because his own were a mess."
"Hm, hm, he must have been quite the sight then," Shikamaru said and he was definitely smirking right now, the bastard. "Considering you normally don't offer your shower to anyone."
"He was a foul mess." Sasuke glared.
"Worse than the time Deidara-san made an entire pit of zombies explode and got showered in their guts?"
Sasuke's glare deepened, but it did nothing to dampen Shikamaru's gleeful amusement. "Just get the heating to work again," he growled and stormed upstairs before the other man could say anything.
"You're a menace and I don't know why I like you," Sasuke announced irritably, walking into the apartment as Naruto had been so kind to leave the door open.
Naruto snickered, stretching out in the couch. His bag was back against the wall where it always seemed to be when its owner wasn't carrying it with him. "Join the club of everyone who has ever known me," he grinned and made grabbing motions at Sasuke.
The dark haired man lifted an eyebrow, but remained standing near the door.
"It is cold in here and you're warm and you wouldn't want me to catch a cold after I just had a shower, right?" Naruto simpered, intensifying his grabbing motions.
Sasuke snorted, but went to the couch all the same. "That shower was at least three hours ago and your hair was perfectly dry when we left my home."
"You know, I'm a big fan of cuddling, so this isn't going to work if you're an ice king, Sasuke," Naruto pouted. "Would you really be so cruel as to deny your boyfriend some tender cuddling?"
"You went from 'I don't need anyone' to 'you're my boyfriend' quite quickly, huh," Sasuke remarked and sank down on the couch. He kept his jacket on for now, because goddamn it, Shikamaru hadn't been lying when he'd warned about the apartment being a damn freezer. Couldn't the heating have broken down during the spring?
Naruto shrugged, easily slotting himself underneath Sasuke's arm and against his side when the latter held out his arm. "In the world we live in now, nothing is guaranteed anymore," he said quietly, curling his legs underneath him. "Might as well enjoy every day I got left here."
Sasuke said nothing, simply turned his head and kissed Naruto's forehead. The cold, icy as it felt, was easily ignored with Naruto curled up against him. Young as everything between them still was, he thought he could get used to this soon, having Naruto close to him, basking quietly in his company.
Naruto was right; they might as well enjoy every day they had got left.
"So the expansion is going to happen after all, huh," Sasuke remarked, watching father unfold the map.
"Yes, but the plan's been adjusted," Father said, placing a book on each end of the map so it would remain flat on the table. "Basically we won't tear down the eastern wall until the expansion is fully finished."
"So build the expansion around the compound in a way, un?" Deidara frowned, crossing his arms. He rested his arse against the back of the couch, eyeing the map doubtfully. "That's still going to draw them in."
"No doubt about that," Father agreed and sighed. "But they won't be able to breach the place then unlike before when the plan had been to tear down the wall and build around the gap."
"If we station more guards on that wall, they can take care of any zombies that get near the construction," Itachi suggested, but the frown on his face spoke plainly of his dislike of the plan. "It's going to take at least three months if not longer to finish everything, though."
"And that's if things don't get fucked in the meantime," Kisame stated flatly. "I don't like this, boss."
"I'm not exactly fond of it either, but we don't have much of a choice," Father said bluntly. "We need to expand eventually, might as well take advantage of the few winter months we have left when the undead aren't that active."
"So what's the plan exactly?" Sasuke asked, stepping closer to the table. "We'll need material and I don't think we have enough left here."
"We don't," Karin confirmed, biting down on her lip. "Shikamaru is checking the large storage shed, but at best we'll be able to build a wooden shed – a small one at that."
"So we'll need material," Deidara piped up. "And I'm guessing you and the rest of the council found a place where we can find everything, un?"
Father nodded, pointing at a town to the west, just two hours from their compound. Sasuke recognised the place, having been there three times before to scavenge for food. It was a modest town, not that much bigger than their compound to be honest, but he could remember the abandoned building materials, brick, wood, metal, all ready to be used for what should have been the first large supermarket in the town. He had barely given the material a glance those times, more focused on trying to find food and medicine for his people.
"For now this place is our best bet," Father said. "With some luck the material is still there and most importantly, still in good shape. The first group will scout out the place, try to take back what they can. Once we know the situation we can send in the second group with one of the bigger vans. It's going to drain our gas, no doubt, but it's better than the alternative, which is driving around aimlessly in the hopes of finding something."
"So, who's going first?" Karin asked curiously.
"Sasuke, Deidara, Anko and Yamato," Father replied. "Yamato knows which material we'll need and you two have scouted the place before so you know where possible traps might be. Anko has kindly let us know that she's more than ready for a trip outside the walls again," he added, his eyes glittering amused.
Sasuke imagined Anko had been a lot more direct about it than merely kindly.
Three raps on the door had Itachi disappearing into the hallway, to greet their new visitor.
"We working with a certain time limit here, un?" Deidara inquired, leaning forwards with more interest now. "If we're scouting, we can't take one of the big vans."
"A day at most," Father answered, pondering the map. "The town is not that far away from here, but an overnight stay isn't necessary. Personally I'd prefer you all to be back before evening just to be on the safe side."
Kisame eyed him sharply. "A herd forming?"
"Not yet, but the group last week had to dispatch of several smaller groups," Father said grimly. "If those end up banding together … We might be in need of the expansion, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to risk your lives."
"Sorry for interrupting," Naruto announced, walking into the room, carrying his crossbow. "But Sasuke, you told me to come here when I was done, so here I am. We can leave whenever you're ready."
"Sure, we're going to the same place like last time?" Sasuke asked distractedly and automatically turned his head to accept Naruto's kiss.
Only when a hushed silence descended over the room did he realise that even two weeks into their relationship, Sasuke hadn't mentioned it to the others yet. He felt his cheeks heat up at Itachi's amused face, Kisame's snickering, Karin's gaping, father's slow blinking and Deidara crowing like an idiot about having won the bet.
"Told him you'd be banging each other before spring arrived!" he cheered before realising who else was in the room and he glanced apologetically at father. "Sorry about that, pretend you didn't hear that, un."
"You actually bet on us?" Naruto looked like he couldn't decide whether to be mad or impressed by that.
"Told you otouto was looking a lot happier," Itachi told father, who merely rolled his eyes.
"He could have been merely in a good mood," Father argued.
"Yeah, in a good mood because he's getting some," Kisame chortled, ducking when Sasuke threw a pillow at him.
"Can we concentrate on the plan again, please?" Sasuke demanded exasperatedly.
"They didn't know yet?" Instead of angry about it, Naruto merely appeared befuddled.
"No, it slipped my mind," Sasuke grumbled.
"Oh, I bet it slipped your mind, all right," Karin said airily, twirling a lock of her red hair around her finger. "Suigetsu's going to have a field day with this, I hope you know."
"Or you could just not say anything about it, because it's none of his business," Sasuke suggested. "Neither is it yours, by the way."
"But it's the most entertainment I've had in weeks!"
Fortunately father took pity on him and knocked his fist on the table once. "We can discuss Sasuke's relationship later."
Or he didn't take pity apparently. "Or we could just not," Sasuke said primly. "I'm good with not, honestly."
He nudged his elbow in Naruto's side when the blond started to chuckle.
"Are you two okay with going on this run?" Father asked, glancing between Sasuke and Deidara.
"Sure, it's been a while since I last went further than the direct perimeter around the walls," Deidara said and rolled his shoulders. "Would be a nice change of scenery, un."
"I don't mind," Sasuke said when father's gaze landed on him. "When do we leave?"
"Tomorrow morning." Father looked at them apologetically. "I know it's short notice, but there's a group leaving south in three days and we need to know if we have to search for material elsewhere before they depart."
"I best get packing then," Deidara said and left with a cheerful wave and a wink at Sasuke.
"Naruto and I are going to train with the crossbow in the forest nearby," Sasuke informed his father, who nodded and started folding the map.
"So they're calling it crossbow training nowadays, hm?" Itachi mused aloud, the picture of perfect innocence save for the glint in his eyes. "How language evolves, even in these times."
"Shut up, Itachi," Sasuke said annoyed and grabbed Naruto's hand, dragging him outside before someone could stop them.
"Sorry, Sasuke," Naruto apologised as they made their way to the gates. "Force of habit already, I guess, I didn't realise they didn't know yet."
"It's not your fault," Sasuke sighed and signed at Iruka to open the gate. "I should have told them, but I hadn't thought about it."
"You think your father will hassle you about it?" Naruto frowned. "I mean, your brother seems okay with it …"
"Don't think father will mind," Sasuke replied and shrugged. "He wasn't angry. And even if he was, it's not like he still has a say about me. He can't exactly ground me for dating a guy."
"Well, the door of my apartment is open in case you need some time away," Naruto offered, neatly sidestepping a zombified man who'd been dragging himself across the road. A quick jab of the dagger and he dropped down unmoving finally. "What's that about leaving tomorrow, by the way? Another supply run?"
"Sort of," Sasuke confirmed, ducking underneath a low hanging branch.
The bout of rain of last night had left the dead leaves slick and he was careful where he set his foot down, not fancying slipping and landing on his back.
"They're going through with the expansion plans, so my group is going to visit a town two hours north from here. See what kind of material is still left and if it's in good shape," he went on to explain. "We'll take with us what we can and the next group will pick up more once we give the clear."
"Sounds like that's going to take a while," Naruto commented. He appeared unbothered by the wet terrain and not for the first time Sasuke was a bit envious of his ability to remain completely silent.
He wasn't exactly stampeding around like an elephant himself, but Naruto was definitely as silent as a ghost in these woods.
"No, we'll be there just for the day," Sasuke said. "We'll be back before evening falls, I promise."
Naruto turned his head, squinted at him. "Weren't you the one who told me that such promises couldn't be made?" he asked teasingly.
"I'm not about to drive through a herd," Sasuke pointed out with a snort. His katana flashed briefly when he brought it down onto a zombie woman's head, cleaving the skull in two and ending her gurgling immediately.
"That you know," Naruto retorted. "For all you know, you might end up driving straight into one of them. Again, weren't you the one who said the woods are safer than the road?"
"Sure, but again, we're not knowingly going to drive straight through a herd unlike somebody," Sasuke said, arching an eyebrow.
"Man, you're still not letting go of that one, huh," Naruto huffed. "As I told you, at least I knew what I was getting myself into. You and your group don't know that."
Concealing a sigh, Sasuke stopped and grabbed Naruto's wrist, tugging him to a stop as well. As soon as Naruto halted, he used his grip to turn him around, and was met by Naruto's frown; his lips pursed together.
"Not my first time in that town and I know what I'm doing," Sasuke said softly, ducking his head to meet Naruto's eyes. "We'll be careful, I promise. It's more scouting anyways that we're supposed to do."
"I know that you know what you're doing," Naruto grumbled and then hesitated; his gaze landing somewhere near Sasuke's boots. "I just … worry," he said finally and he scowled. "I'd forgotten how much I hated worrying about someone. You're an arsehole."
In spite of the insult and the biting words, Sasuke smiled, drawing him into a hug. "I worry about you too if you're outside the walls without me," he admitted.
Above them some birds tweeted and some leaves rustled as they flew away.
"But it's just a day. The town is only two hours from here; we'll be back before evening falls, I promise."
"Fine," Naruto muttered and he was clearly not fine with it, judging by the fact that he refused to look up, only tightening his grip around Sasuke's waist, but that was okay. At least this showed that he cared as much about Sasuke as Sasuke had started to care about him.
They remained wrapped up in a hug until two wandering zombies forced them to part and they each took care of one.
Rubbing the back of his hand against his forehead, Naruto's eyes drifted from the dead zombie man to Sasuke. He tugged at the strap of his crossbow. "Come on, might as well get a few hours of practice in before you have to pack."
The next morning had the last vestiges of sleep abruptly disappearing when Sasuke's eyes landed on Naruto, who was waiting for him near the gates.
"You're up early," Sasuke said surprised and jogged over to him. It was just past six and the sky was only now showing glimpses of soft red and orange as day broke. "You didn't have to wake up so early."
"Well, what kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn't see you off?" Naruto smiled; their breath escaping in little clouds. "Plus," he said as he tugged Sasuke closer by the lapels of his jacket, "My shift starts soon. Apparently I've been deemed safe enough to guard the walls this morning."
"You have?" Sasuke was surprised by that. Father hadn't mentioned anything of additions to the guard roster when he'd spoken to him last night.
"Hm, got told about it last night," Naruto said, stepping even closer. "Apparently one of the guards fell sick, so I'm kind of a stand-in I guess. On probation to find out whether I have what it takes to guard such important walls," he mocked.
"It does show that they trust you, though," Sasuke insisted, wrapping his arms around Naruto's waist, resting his hands on his lower back.
"Man, I don't care whether they trust me or not," Naruto scoffed. "Got you and that's all that I care about."
The sting of heat in his cheeks was because of the sharp cold and definitely not because Naruto's words had his chest warming.
"Hey, lovebirds!" Anko snapped from next to the car. "Very touching and all that, but we need to leave so finish your sappy goodbyes already! Let's go!"
"She's definitely not feeling the romance," Naruto quipped.
She flipped him off before getting into the back of the car.
"All right, my cue to leave before Deidara decides it's his time to be funny," Sasuke sighed. "I'll see you tonight."
"Hm, stay safe."
Their kiss was short, but sweet and Sasuke couldn't help himself from pecking Naruto's mouth a second time, making the blond grin. They squeezed hands, shared one more look and then Sasuke got into the car, watching Naruto make his way up the scaffold for the first time.
"You two make me barf," Anko muttered, dumping her bag between her legs.
"I think it's sweet," Yamato smiled and started the car while the gates rolled open.
"I'm just glad you didn't take until summer to hook up with him, un," Deidara piped up from next to Anko. "Thanks for helping me win that bet."
Sasuke rolled his eyes, but said nothing, choosing instead to look at Naruto's form on the wall in the sidemirror for as long as possible.
The imprint of their kiss like a ghost against his lips.
Eight hours later the memory of the kiss was brutally chased away by the sound of a gun cocked right behind him.
"Well, well, well, what do we have here? A couple of little thieves, it seems."
AN2: You all didn't think it'd be this easy, right? Some shit's about to go down next chapter, so pay attention to those warnings then, all right? :D
