A new chapter!
Bing! Naruto looked up from his paper work to the elevator to see who would be here this late. 'Who could that be?' Everyone else already went home for the day, while he and Sasuke had to work on a project suddenly due the next morning, and to get away from Sasuke's family.
Needles to say. he was surprised when Deidara walked up. "Hey Naruto, Sasuke still in? I tried calling but he didn't answer. I need to talk to him," he said smiling sweetly.
"Yeah, he's in. But what do you need at this hour? Is Itachi okay?" Naruto asked standing up and walking around his desk to stand at Sasuke's door.
"Itachi's is fine, but I need to talk to Sasuke for a moment," he said, dismissively. 'Something's not right' Naruto thought. But Deidara looked fine, there was no black aura.
"Okay, but he's very busy so only a minute. I have a few papers to drop off at the office across the floor you have till I get back." He picked up a stack of papers.
"Ok Naruto. I won't be long," he replied still smiling. A few minutes later, Naruto returned to Sasuke's office to bail him out when he noticed the door was cracked. 'Sasuke never leaves the door cracked.' Leaning close to the door, he didn't hear any voices, but turning his head he caught noise from the stairwell. Walking quickly he neared the door to the stairs and slowed down 'til he was just barely leaning on it. Opening it just a crack to listen.
"Stop being so slow!" Deidara snapped. "Come on! It's only a few more floors to the roof. Move it!" Naruto peered through the crack and saw Deidara prodding Sasuke up the stairs with a revolver.
Sasuke peeked at the door Naruto was standing at, obviously stalling. At Naruto's nod he started up the stairs, Deidara following close behind. When the roof door opened, Naruto raced up the few flights of stairs and stopped just inside the door. Peeking out his heart missed a few beats. Deidara had lead Sasuke to stand on the upraised edge of the roof, the gun pointed at Sasuke's heart. Deidara's back was to Naruto so he quietly slipped out and hid behind the AC unit.
"Now hold it. Whatever you think I've done I'm sure we can either fix it or work something out. I'm sure Itachi would—" Sasuke started only to be cut off by Deidara.
"Oh, will you shut up?" he yelled. "You can't fix this. Do you have any idea how hard it is to even find one let alone catch one? ESPECIALLY that one! Even then it took help, a lot of help mind you, and still we lost so many men." He shook his head sadly.
Sasuke had a confused expression, that slowly changed to fear. 'This guy's crazy! Why did Itachi have to pick a crazy person to try to fall in love with?' he though, panicked.
"Deidara?" a confused voice asked from the door. Heads whipped around to see none other than Itachi standing there.
"Tachi? What are you doing here?" Deidara asked.
"You were acting strange at dinner, so I followed you here to make sure you were okay. Dei, baby, what are you doing? Surly there are other ways to handle this than a gun right?" he said, inching his way over, holding his hand out to take the gun.
"N-no. I'm sorry, Tachi. I -I-I can't." he whispered. The hand not holding the gun pointed at Sasuke went to his temple and threaded in his hair. His entire body began shaking, like he was having an inner battle with himself. Naruto could see the change before it happened. He ran around the AC unit to stand in front of Sasuke, his arms out. Deidara's head suddenly snapped forward his eyes glowing a fierce red and a shot rang out. Naruto staggered back a little as the bullet hit him dead center in the chest and he bent forward from the pain. Deidara's eyes, now back to his normal blue, widened as the gun fell from his lose grip and Itachi shouted,
"Sasuke!" Turning his head around, Naruto saw Sasuke had reflexively taken a small step back at the shot and his footing became unstable. He saw Sasuke's shocked face as his body tilted and he began to fall. Naruto didn't hesitate. He turned and ran to the edge, jumped up to the ledge and dived after Sasuke. Deidara gasped and fell to his knees warping his arms around himself as his body convulsed and a shadow seemed to pull its self out of his back. The shadow stood next to Deidara, smirked and then faded into the other shadows. Deidara looked up with tears raining down his face, as Itachi reached him a moment later.
"What have I done?" he sobbed, clutching to Itachi. "I've killed them both." he whispered miserably. All Itachi could do was hold him.
Sasuke knew he was about to die, his heart was hammering in his chest and his stomach felt like it was going to switch places with his head. And yet, he was oddly calm. There was something about the certainty that he was about to die that allowed him to just close his eyes as he plummeted at terminal velocity toward the street below.
"Sasuke!" Naruto yelled.
Sasuke's eyes snapped open and he saw Naruto speeding toward him. He gasped in horror.
"You idiot!" he yelled. "Why did you jump? Now we both are gonna die!" Somehow his body had turned upside-down and when he next opened his eyes he could see himself in the windows that lined the entire side of the building. He was so focused on his own panicked face he didn't realize that Naruto had somehow caught up to him till he felt arms wrap around his chest and waist.
"Not if I can help it," Naruto whispered in his ear.
Looking beyond his own reflection to Naruto's, he was about to ask what he meant when he noticed that Naruto was facing the ground with a determined expression. Then he began to glow. Sasuke looked down at the arms warped tightly around him as the long-sleeved shirt he wore disappeared exposing sun-kissed skin and strong muscle. Snapping his eyes back to the glass he gasped at what he saw, Naruto had glorious golden wings that were folded along his back. As he unfolded them, he twisted their bodies so that he was holding Sasuke bridal-style. Naruto's wings then unfolded all the way showing that each wing was longer than the man was tall.
The wings caught the air as they fell, slowing them down. But even Sasuke could see it was not enough, they would still hit the ground too hard. Apparently, Naruto could see this too and angled his body so that instead of falling he was gliding. He glided around the building once and then beat his wings against the air, flying close to the windows before literally running up the side of the building. In no time at all they reached the roof, Sauke could only stare helplessly as he watched Naruto land on the ledge. For all intents and purposes, looking like a god come to earth. His hair had grown to his shoulders and held a hint of a wave to it, his wings were fanned out at his sides like a cape of golden feathers. Deidara gasped in fear, believing Naruto would seek revenge for shooting him, but Itachi moved them so he was shielding him.
Naruto opened one of his wings and with the wind in his feathers snapped it forward, shooting razor sharp feathers. Itachi and Deidara gasped as the feathers missed them and landed on the shadow next to them. In the shadow was a small Demon, the feathers having pinned the creature's cloak to the ground. It looked up wide eyed at him as his other wing repeated the motion, sending another barrage of sharp feathers that pierced the creature easily. The creature screamed and curled in on itself with the glowing feathers. Then turned into a black shifting shadow that melted away in the light of the feathers. A small boy no older than five took its place. He smiled up at the Angel.
"Thank you," he whispered before disappearing in a silver haze, smiling brightly.
Sasuke was gasping at what he had just seen, still in Naruto's arms. Naruto was an Angel. Itachi and Deidara began to walk over to them as Naruto knelt down on the ledge and set Sasuke down on the roof. As soon as Sasuke was on his feet, shaking like a leaf from the adrenaline pumping through his veins, Naruto stood up and turned back to look out at the nearby rooftops for a moment. Turning. he steeped over the edge and jumped. Sasuke gasped for a moment before he reappeared flying away. Sasuke thought he would keep flying when he banked hard showing off his wings. He headed toward the rooftop across the street, flying behind an access shed. A moment later, a different Angel with white wings flew out. Sasuke could only just barely make out the shadow of a rifle in his hand. Naruto tried to air-tackle him but the man dodged. The other Angel hovered in the air for moment, long enough to take aim at Sasuke with the rifle.
"Not this time!" Naruto yelled.
As he flew into the path of the shot, a bridge of red stained golden feathers erupted from his left wing. Naruto then flew at the white winged angel and after a moment of struggling, the rifle fell down into the streets below.
The other Angel managed to fly away, trying to regain lost ground and circled around to retaliate but missed. He tried again with the same results. Naruto was just too fast for the other Angel to catch even with his injured wing hindering him. When the Angle turned, trying to get some open air between them, Naruto shot a single feather at him. What with the white angel's back turned, he didn't know to dodge and the feather hit its mark, landing in the joint of his wing. The Angel gave a loud cry of pain as his wings clasped and began to fall. Naruto shot after him, catching him before he could fall to far. The other Angels wings were limp hanging down as Naruto flew down the street, towards the park.
"Naruto!" Sasuke yelled after him, seeing that the other Angel was fighting the hold Naruto had on him, messing with the flight slightly. But Naruto held on, even as feathers kept falling out every time his wings beat the air to keep them both in the sky.

Iruka was walking to his car from a friends apartment when he heard a crash in the park to his right. Looking over he saw a tree cut in half, followed closely by a mess of pure white feathers. Iruka wasted no time in rushing over to see what had happened. He was incapable of stifling the gasp that escaped him at what he found.
An angel lay in the small crater, a disorienting sight for one who'd never seen such a being. Iruka was quickly observing that the angel's body, bruises and cuts marked him here and there while leaves littered his hair from the tree he had hit on the way down.
With how preoccupied with the angel on the ground he found himself being, Iruka failed to notice the other Angel with golden wings shinning in the sun circle over head once and then quickly disappearing down the street.
The downed angel's wings trembled slightly, causing him to let out a strangled gasp, his face scrunching up in acute pain. Looking at the wing still held in the air, Iruka observed a single gold feather embedded deeply in the joint causing bright red blood to paint the otherwise pristine feathers.
"Oh no." Iruka breathed, his eyes widening when the angel opened his, quickly stepping back as their eyes caught one another. But the angel dismissed him , trying and failing not to move his injured wing when he moved his head.
"Go on!" he said miserably. "Finish me off!" Iruka responded quickly in an exasperated tone, "How about I get this feather out of your wing? Then you can tell someone else to kill you cause I won't."
Reaching over swiftly, before the Angel could blink, Iruka pulled the feather out of his wing. The Angel screamed in pain, his wing folding back once more to rest on his chest as he clutched the blood coated feathers.
"There! Now it can heal," Iruka announced before asking in concern, "Do you need a place to stay? Hello? Oh, dear." When he received no reply Iruka looked down, realizing that the angel had fainted from the pain. "Well I can't very well just leave you here can I?" he said sweetly. Worried, he gently folded the angel's wings together before picking him up. With strength no one would have thought he'd possess, Iruka made his way to the car, careful as he arranged the man in the back seat.
Lucky for the angel, Iruka lived outside of the city, only coming into town to visit a friend. His quiet little house residing within the rural area that surrounded the city and would, coincidentally, be the perfect place for an injured angel to heal.
Pleas let me know what you think of this. Its so far out of my normal zone, you could say its up in the air! ...
