It had been nearly tweleve hours with Kurama sitting there. He felt Naruto sleeping inside and it brought a sort of smile to his fox face. Kunkuro and Temari had nodded out a long while ago, asking to be alerted when Gaara stirred. Gaara seemed so peacefully asleep that it was rediculous. Finally, Kurama saw a sign of waking and gently tapped his claw against Kunkuro and Temari. They woke up and stood up, watching over Gaara with excitment and worry in their eyes. Gaara's eyes slowly opened, his gaze looking up to Kurama as everybody was looking down upon him. He stood himself up and looked right into the demon's eyes, Kurama looking back to him with a fading smile.
"I would have hoped Shukaku would have the balls to speak to me," Kurama growled.
Gaara shook his head and said, "I got a good sleep out of it. You still want to try?"
Kurama nodded, watching Gaara place himself in a dome and focus. Shukaku began to stir, feeling safe in the dome. He finally perfromed his knckout jutsu, Shukaku releasing and bursting through the dome, laughing. "I am free! Free as a bird, fuckers!"
Kurama took the chance in ignorance to claw Shukaku across the face, causeing the large Racoondog to whimper. Kurama growled, grasping Shukaku by the throat and glaring into his eyes. "Now listen here, pup," Kurama snarled, "You need to strike a deal and cooperate with your host. If you don't very bad things will happen like me ripping you apart and the little boy wondering where all his power went. Understand me?"
Shukaku nodded swiftly and muttered out, "Yeah Kurama, whatever you say Kurama!" Kurama released Shukaku's neck, him imidiately letting Gaara back out. Gaara held his head as if he had a headache even while Kurama picked him up into his paw.
As Gaara felt his head coming back together, Kurama spoke to him, "Now, when I set you down, I want you to speak to Shukaku through meditation. You will sit down and reach into the deepest parts of your mind. In there, you will confront Shukaku and strike a deal. Do not let him take too much from you. Shukaku is known for taking more than what is rightfully his. Make him respect and fear you."
Gaara nodded, being placed back down and he immidately sat still, thinking into the depths of his mind. Kurama watched him but looked over to Kunkuro and Temari, looking at the gratitude and worry in their eyes. Temari moved closer to Kurama and even leaned against his leg, petting the fur even. Kurama liked the feel of being pet and let out a low friendly growl of approval. Temari moved away a bit but relaxed again and kept petting his leg. Kurama then moved back, her nearly falling due to the lack of leg but to find it replaced by his nose as he layed down. She pet his nose, thinking it was amazing to even be near a tame demon. Kurama wiggled his nose and stuck out his tongue a bit to flick it and lick her. She laughed a bit at it but Kurama pressed a claw to her lips to assure she was not too loud. They remained silent for a bit, Temari petting Kurama's fur and Kunkuro standing close, simply watching and waiting.
Gaara opened his eyes and stood up. "Shukaku and I have made a pact."
"What is it?" Kurama glared a bit, but smiled a bit in anxeity.
Gaara took a deep breath, only making Kurama growl in nervousness. "Shukaku and I came to an agreement that when I call upon him, he may take total and full form as long as he listens to me. All he wanted was freedom from time to time."
"I see," Kurama growled, returning to Naruto's form but from looking at the eyes it was obvious that Kurama still had control. "I will be around to be sure he doesn't get out of hand. He also needs to know that if he torments you at all, I will rip him a new one."
Gaara nodded and watched Naruto's eyes turn to normal. Gaara looked down for a little bit and then to Naruto. Naruto smiled and placed his hand firmly onto Gaara's shoulder, "Don't ever let something else make you their bitch. You are strong, we both feel it. That's why I would like you to join me in a following. Those two can come too."
Kunkuro and Temari looked at Naruto, each other, and then Gaara for the say. Gaara looked directly into Naruto's eyes, it was almost a stare off. Finally, Gaara nodded and said, "I am willing to join you."
His eyes trailed to Kunkuro and Temari. Temari nodded and stepped up closer, directly to Naruto's side. Kunkuro looked at them and shook his head with a smile, "Alright, I am in too. Besides, demon power won't get you through everything."
"Alright," Naruto said, "Now, please. I need you guys to start practicing. Help Gaara with Shukaku control and take Shukaku on a walk. Don't go near the village." It looked as if Kunkuro was going to speak but Naruto interrupted him, "I have some others to gather into our grouping still." He began walking away from them and heading towards the village and whispered to himself, "And people to torture."
He walked right into the village, no one questioning him but many whispers were shared as he walked by. He made his way first to the hospital, going right up to the desk and asking, "I would like to visit... um.. Lee?"
"Oh sure," The nurse nin spoke with a smile, "Just remember, visiting hours are over in about three hours. He is up the stairs and the third room on the left."
"Thank you," Naruto said, looking at her breasts casually so she didn't notice. He would take his time going to Lee's room, looking around as he went and opening the door to see Sakura and Sasuke were there. Sasuke immidiately stood up with one leg in front of Sakura protectively. Naruto gave them a smirk, walking around them and sitting down near Lee on the opposite side of the bed as them. Sasuke would not take his eyes off Naruto. Naruto could care less as he leaned in to examine Lee.
He spoke to him as if he were awake, "Hey... Green boy with the bowl cut.. I know the board said your name is Lee but, I am sure it would be akward for me to address you by your name since we havn't really met. I am Naruto, son of the sound village's lord."
"You are a bunch of bull crap," Sasuke shouted at him. Naruto looked up at Sasuke and locked eyes, remaining calm despite Sasuke's anger, "Naruto, you shouldn't even be in here. You aren't leaf and you certainly aren't his friend!"
Naruto stared at Sasuke, watching his body shake in anger, it amused him but to further it, he just turned his eyes back to Lee and said, "I was hoping to tell you that you fought really well."
He heard a yell followed by knukles in his cheek. Sasuke had punched him and he did not give a damn. "Listen to me you idiot!"
"Lee, I hope to gain a friendship with you, you seem cool," Naruto continued, despite Sasuke punching him again. Before Sasuke could punch him a third time, Naruto grabbed his fist and glared up at him. "Do you mind? I am trying to have a one sided conversation with a potential friend."
Sasuke growled at him and drew back his other fist to punch again but his arm was grabbed by Sakura, who was giving him pleading eyes as she said, "Sasuke, please don't."
Sasuke looked back at her and gave a sigh, releasing his fists but leaving. Sakura, not wanting to be left alone with Naruto, followed him out. Naruto smiled in a way it was almost a smirk then looked back at Lee again. "I know you can't respond now, but I am making a group filled with strong and talented nin. I am hoping you will join us. It is for a good cause, I assure you."
He then got up, leaving the room then walking from door to door, peering in until he found Hinata's room. He strode in, some water in his eyes as he sat close beside her bed. He looked her over and shook his head, "How could I have let this happen to you... I should have interfered with the match."
A tear dropped from his eye, his hand slipping into hers to find their fingers interlacing. He sighed to himself and said, "You know, I will defeat him in your name. He doesn't have a chance in hell of beating me. He doesn't know who he has fucking messed with!"
He gripped her hand and took a deep sigh, reassuring himself that she would be alright. He also heard someone step into the room, glancing up to see it was her sensei. He looked back down at Hinata as the sensei came over and looked at him.
"You are the boy of Orochimaru's, right?" the sensei asked him, trying to keep a whisper.
"Yeah," He said, trying to not choke on himself. "I am Naruto."
"I saw how you two were acting during the preliminaries," She spoke to him and sat down across from him, "You do know it is hard to love in the life we all live. It is very easy to lose or have them used against you."
Naruto shook his head, "I damn well know the costs. I was raised the hard way into it. My father was relentless in making sure it was drilled into my head. No exceptions. It is a risk I am willing to take for her."
He gripped Hinata's hand a little tighter, the sensei smiling at him. "Just take good care of her when you can, okay?" She spoke smoothly, "Oh, and my name is Kurenai."
Naruto nodded to agree to it and said, "I will, just take care of her when I can't. I do know she can take care of herself but until she figures that out, someone has to help her."
Kurenai nodded and said, "You are very intuative for your age."
"I blame my father for all of my good side," Naruto smiled a bit, his grip loosening on Hinata's hand a little bit. Kurenai smiled, feeling she was safe with him and left. Naruto stayed by Hinata's side for a couple hours, eventually, nodding off a bit while holding her hand. He faintly heard the Nurse come in when visiting hours were over to get him to leave the room but instead of waking him and asking him to leave, she instead covered him with a blanket. The nurse left, closing the door and flicking the lights off. Naruto let himself wake naturally in order to sit up and protect her, but kept himself curved like he was asleep. He made sure his fingers remained interlaced with hers, for the entire night.
