A/N: This is a thank you to all of you who have reviewed my story. To be honest, when I posted my first chapter of this story, I did not expect to get so many reviews. Though I am overjoyed to know that you guys enjoy this fic enough to leave me one. Disclaimer: Naruto, don't own it. Sekirei, don't own it. The only thing I can claim to own is my pimped out computer and my fanfiction. However, if I did own Naruto and Sekirei then I would make the ultimate crossover, packed with loads of awesome, awesome and MORE AWESOME. Then, just for the hell of it, I would pack in some jawesome. Hehe... Street Sharks rule.
Chapter 9: The Beginning
XoX It took a while, nearly five minutes before Naruto was able to calm down Tsukiumi. He had done his best to explain to her that the Sekirei he had bonded with had all done so of their own free will, just as she had, and that like her they were important to him, enough that he would willingly risk his life for them. Going a step further the blond promised he would explain everything to her when they got home. His words seemed to calm her down though she still looked put off, but at the very least she agreed to stop trying to kill him via her Water Celebration attack. Now he found himself walking down the street with three Sekirei all trying to hold onto some part of him. Like always nowadays, this had caused some major problems. Especially as all three were full grown women and had no problems duking it out with each other to decide who got to hold one of Naruto's arm. It had almost come to blows before the blond had a fit of genius. Or insanity, depending on who you asked. Tsukiumi got his left arm, and she clung to it rather zealously, even going so far as to stick his arm between her breasts in an attempt to entice him to look at her instead of the other two Sekireis. Which was an odd paradox considering just minutes ago she had been trying to kill him. Akitsu had his other arm. Thankfully, she was much more mellow then the other two. She had his arm in a loose grip, though it was still pressed into her prominent bust, and her head was resting on his shoulder and her face carried an expression of content to it. Musubi was on his back. She had her arms wrapped tightly around his neck, her legs were likewise wrapped around his body, heels hooked together as they crossed over his stomach. Her head had claimed the crook of his neck, and she was giving a closed eyed smile as she breathed in the blonds scent. Naruto had to withhold a shudder as he felt her breasts mashing into his shoulder blades. He was the sight of much jealousy as he walked back home. Every single male eye was sending him a scathing glare of such utter loathing that the blond actually felt several sources of killing intent. Civilian intent, but intent nonetheless. It didn't actually do anything, and Naruto was easily able to ignore it, but that didn't make it any less annoying. The sound of his cellphone going off got his attention. "Tsukiumi," he called, bringing the girls glare from the road ahead to him. He ignored the anger in her eyes for a moment as he spoke. "Inside of my upper left pocket is my cell phone. Do you think you can get it for me?" "Of course, as your wife it is my duty to help you in endeavors such as this." Naruto sweat dropped at the wife comment but decided not to say anything. He was beginning to just accept that Murphy, or Jiraiya, or perhaps both had decided that his life had grown boring and needed a little more excitement to it. He wasn't sure whether he should be pleased by the amount of excitement in his life now, or displeased. Naruto had eventually decided to go with a mixture of both. Of course, just because he did not say anything did not mean others didn't. "Ooh I can do it Naruto-Sama! Let Musubi get your cell phone!" "Back off wench! As a mere mistress it is not your duty to get his cell phone!" "I'm not a mistress! I'm also Naruto-Sama's wife!" "Do you even know what those words mean!" "Of course I do." A prominent pause of nearly ten seconds followed. "Well, no I don't..." "Then thou art not his wife!" Already sensing the argument about to continue, Naruto did his best to head it off before it got any worse. "Girls, calm down," he said, using just a hint of command in his voice. Immediately the two closed their mouths and looked up at him. "Musubi-chan, considering you have to keep a hold of my neck, you can't really afford to grab my phone. I asked Tsukiumi to do it because she was the closest to the phone. Now Tsukuimi, please pick it up before it stops ringing." "Of course, my husband." Tsukuimi did as told and even went a step further by pressing the accept button and placing it against his ear. She shot Musubi a victorious look, only for it to turn into a glare when she noticed the brunette Sekirei was ignoring her and nuzzling her nose into Naruto's neck. How dare that wench nuzzle against her husband! "Hello? Ah, Matsu-chan! What's –" Naruto was cut off mid sentence as frantic talking could be heard on the other end. "What do you mean?" Another pause. Naruto groaned. "Ugh... please tell me your joking?... your not joking. Well, that sucks. Alright. Thank you for informing me. Don't worry, I've got it all under control. Alright, see in a few." The line went dead and Naruto sighed. "Who was thou speaking with?" Tsukuimi asked, a curious frown on her face. "That was Matsu," Naruto replied with a frown. "She's one of my other Sekirei and our intelligence agent. She just told me that there are over two dozen Ashikabis and their Sekireis headed right for us. They'll be here in less then ten minutes." "What!" "What should we do, Naruto-Sama?" "What dost thou mean what should we do? We shall stand and fight!" "Do not worry Ashikabi-Sama, I will protect you with my life." Naruto took a deep, calming breath as he listened to the constant chattering around him. He listened to the trio as they all tried to decide on what to do, and of course, none of them seemed to agree on anything. Musubi felt she should stay behind and fight while they ran, Tsukuimi was surprisingly of like mind, except with her being the one to stay, claiming it was the duty of a wife to protect her Ashikbi... until she could kill Naruto herself. Akitsu just wanted to protect him and didn't care about anything else. Before it reached a crescendo, Naruto decided to stop their bickering. "Enough," he snapped. Once more they all fell silent. Taking a deep breath Naruto continued. "This isn't the time to bicker and argue amongst ourselves. If we spend all of our time arguing with each other, then the other Ashikabi will have plenty of time to get the drop on us." He watched as the three had the decency to look ashamed. Feeling he had gotten his point across, the blond continued, saying, "we're all in this together, and we'll all get out of this together. Ok?" The three looked at him, then each, then back at him. Slowly, one by one the three apologized and accepted that he was right. Naruto smiled, glad to have that out of the way. His smile slowly turned into a smirk, however, this one was far different from the normal looks he gave. It was an almost demented grin that used to set everybody who knew him on edge. Many people in Konoha had run away crying when this particular expression had been on his face, for they all knew that it meant they were screwed beyond all belief. It was a look he often had before playing a prank. "And besides, I already have a plan of getting us out of this." Tsukuimi raised an eyebrow and was the one to voice all of their questions. "And what hast thou planned?" Naruto looked at her, a decidedly mischievous gleam in his eyes. XoX The first step of his plan was to find a place to hide. He doubted that it would buy more then a few seconds, but it was more then good enough for what he needed to do. Tsukuimi did not seem to approve of this, however, and took it took quite a bit of coaxing and Naruto's assurance that he had a plan to convince her to follow him. Once they had found a decent sized alleyway, Naruto had set Musubi down and moved out of the grasp of the other two Sekirei. "Tsukuimi, what you are about to see is something that will likely shock you. I would like to ask that you withhold all questions until we are safe at home. Ok?" Tsukuimi raised an eyebrow but agreed nonetheless. She watched in curiosity as the blond raised his hands and produced some kind of strange hand seal, the forefingers of his hands crossed over each other in the shape of a t. She became shocked when a large puff of smoke suddenly engulfed the clearing. The smoke cleared and her shock turned into such utter astonishment and she was sure her mind were playing tricks on her. After rubbing her eyes several times, however, she realized they were not. That what she was seeing was real. Standing before her, on the walls, on the floor, surrounding them on all sides were Naruto's. Hundreds of copies of the blond who had become her Ashikabi. She even touched one just to make sure they were real. The clone had just giggled and slapped away her hand, much to her surprise. What was this? She had never heard of tangible clones before. It was not even a Sekirei skill much less a human skill. There should be no way a human could possibly create real, physical copies of himself. Hell, there was no way an Sekirei could create copies of themselves. And that was not even mentioning how many there were. And then she received another shock, three-fourths of the clones there began going through more hand seals. There was another puff of smoke, and instead of all Narutos, she was now staring at several groups of Naruto, herself, Musubi and Akitsu. In groups of four they began to disperse. Some walked out of the alley, some ran up the wall and began hopping across the roof, others disappeared within a swirl of leaves, wind or, much to her surprise, water. When all of the clones were gone she turned to look at a grinning Naruto. The blond went through a few more hand seals and this time, not only did Tsuikimi noticed the area around them become distorted, she felt the pull on her Ashikabi's power supply, which she had thought was for her own use for her Norito. Apparently, her Ashikabi was capable of using this power supply as well. How this was possible she didn't know, however, she promised herself that she would find out once they were safe. "Now, the decoys have been sent and I've put up an illusion around us that will make us invisible." Naruto walked over to a wall and began leaning against it. "Now all we need to do is wait until sunset before making our move." Both Musubi and Akitsu walked over to him. Musubi decided to sit down on the ground and rested her head against Naruto's leg, closing her eyes as she let her Ashikabi's presence wash over her. The ice user simply took one of her hands in his own, eliciting a smile from him as he laced their fingers together. Tsuikimi looked at the man who had just proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he was no normal Ashikabi, no normal human. She had so many questions, about him, about his abilities, about so many things. However, he had asked her not to ask questions until they were home. And as his wife it was her duty to honor that agreement. She would still her tongue until they were in the sanctity of her new home. Until then, she would not let those two Sekirei beat her. She would prove to them both that she was Naruto's one true wife. XoX Matsu had to rub her eyes as she looked at the monitor, in order to make sure she wasn't seeing things. Looking back at the large screen she realized that she wasn't, which really just made her surprise complete. "What the heck is going on?" She watched in complete shock as several dozen Narutos appeared on her screen as little blue dots. The Narutos soon began to speed off in as many different directions as possible. They stuck in groups of four and despite trying to figure out why, Matsu was unable to come up with any theories. However, as she continued to watch several of the groups ran afoul of a couple Ashikabi. A few disappeared, but the vast majority of them managed to survive, and in turn the Ashikabis and their Sekirei moved to follow them. This had the effect of making them leave the general vicinity of the four blue dots that had not moved since the Narutos were created. Two hours later, the four dots soon began to move. XoX Within the city of Shinto Teito, a most unusual event was taking place. Twelve groups of Naruto clones, four to each group, with three of them henged to look like the blonds Sekirei, were running across the city scape in various directions. Making sure that they all kept away from each other, as people would question their sanity if they saw more then one of the same people, the groups used their five senses to the fullest in order to find out where the vast majority of Ashikabi and Sekirei were. It wasn't all that hard. With the shear amount of people after them, the clone groups didn't even need to travel far before they would run into at least two Ashikabi along with their Sekirei. But that was fine, the plan Naruto had created them for required that they run into as many groups of Ashikabi as possible. The plan was simple, the many groups that were running about in various directions would all be the bait which lured the Ashikabi away from the real Naruto and his Sekirei. Simple, but effective. A few of the groups were dispelled, hit by weapons, fists or the elements, several of the clones were popped before they could do their task. Instead of working against them, however, this actually worked in Naruto's favor. Seeing a group of people dispersing in a puff of smoke left those that had attacked the clones in a general state of confusion. Unable to realize what had happened and why the people they had been trying to defeat had just disappeared in a puff of smoke, the Ashikabi and their Sekirei were left baffled and unable to do much more then stand there gawking. At least, until they saw several other Ashikabi and Sekirei chasing after another group of henged Naruto clones. The only reason several of the groups had even been dispersed in the first place was due to the fact that their task was not to battle, but escape. So rather then trying to fight, they were forced to simply run and this had left their backs exposed. Those groups that did not get dispelled were more then capable of creating an excellent distraction. They did not just run off in random directions, using the skills that Naruto had picked up near the beginning of his life, the henged clones create were perfectly capable of producing mass amounts of chaos. Aka, pranks. XoX Several Ashikabi that had decided to group up and split the prize – though many had every intention of backstabbing the people they were working with in order to claim the prize for themselves – could be found chasing a group of henged Naruto clones as they raced down the street. Not that these people knew they weren't chasing the originals, and that the only things they were chasing was a group of beings created from pure chakra. Being the only person who could use chakra alive held some advantages in this day and age. "There they are!" "After them!" "Don't let them get away!" As the group of Ashikabi, two men and a woman, and their Sekirei, each of them only possessing one in turn, ran after the four copies, they never saw the tail they had acquired during their chase. Another group of Naruto clones were almost right behind them, sticking to the shadows and back alles as they silently followed the loud group with the stealth that only a ninja of the blonds caliber could achieve. Not that stealth seemed to be very necessary at the moment. The people chasing after the other clones were very narrow minded, focused on a singular goal to the point that they seemed to be excluding everything else in the general vacinity. A heard of elephants could probably stampeded through the streets and they would never notice. This suited the clones just fine. All four Naruto's quickly determined the route the other group of clones were taking, as well as the route these Ashikabi and Sekirei would follow, then made their way ahead of the two groups. They situated themselves in an alley, hands simultaneously going through a set of handseals, stopping on the Bird seal and holding it there. Their cheeks all bulged as they sucked in a breath of air and held in it, but did not release. They were waiting for the right moment to strike their unaware victims. That moment came a few moments later, just seconds after the group of henged Naruto clones passed their position. The gathering of Ashikabi and Sekirei that had been following the other copies just began passing by when the four Naruto's unleashed their technique. A gentle wave of invisible cutting winds that felt more akin to a breeze then any kind of deadly technique blew through their lips, and moved towards the enclave they were targeting. The results were immediate and hilarious. The cutting winds slashed apart the clothing of everyone in the group. Several cries went out from the women as they lost all of their clothes, leaving them bare as the day they were born. The two men of the group squawked in indignation and embarrassment as they tried to cover themselves, faces beat red. At least, they tried to cover themselves until they saw their Sekirei bereft of any clothing. The sight of so much feminine flesh was far too much for the average male to handle, even back during Naruto's own time this type of thing would have had deadly and devastating results. After raping their Sekirei with their eyes – much to said Sekireis embarrassment – the two men of the group were blown back via extra large nosebleeds. It was as if Old Faithful – a geyser found in Yellow Stone National Park – had been implanted into their nose. The sheer amount of life giving liquid they expelled was more then enough to send them into a nearly catatonic state. They were unconscious long before they hit the ground, or the wall, the car, the lamp post... Needless to say, these men would not be getting any from their Sekirei anytime soon. Their task accomplished, the clones took a moment to snicker and give themselves a pat on the back before leaving the embarrassed and mortified women to look after their unconscious Ashikabi. An hour after they left, the two male Ashikabi would wake up, only to be on the receiving end of a beating from their Sekirei and the one female Ashikabi of the group. Their screams would echo throughout Shinto Teito, and grant many young men horrible nightmares in the years to come. This was not the only prank that was played during this time. Other Ashikabi and Sekirei ended up being led into a dead end, where they would then find themselves falling into a pit hole that the clones had dug using earth manipulation and a simple genjutsu to hide it. Each pit hole also had several hundred gallons worth of rubber cement in them, thus ensuring that the Sekirei and their Ashikabi would be unable to get out as the rubber cement dried on them. Where the clones found the rubber cement was unknown, but they all had Naruto's personality and thought patterns so to anyone who knew the blond – which was thankfully no one – the ability to randomly produce several hundred gallons of rubber cement was not out of his league. He hadn't earned his title as most unpredictable ninja of Konoha for nothing. There were various other pranks that many of the groups chasing after Naruto's henged clones ran into. Some involved tear gas, paint and silly string... don't ask. Others involved stink bombs and smoke screens. One group of clones had even decided to pee on a couple of Ashikabi that they had managed to lead into a dead end. Disgusting? Yes. But it did the intended purpose of distracting and angering the people that they had pissed on. With the many different groups running off in all directions, it had the desired effect of not only distracting the Ashikabi from the real Naruto, but also led them away from the blonds position. With the large group of Ashikabi and Sekirei dispersed, Naruto and his three Sekirei were able to easily slip passed all of the people who had come after them and make their way back to Izumo Inn. XoX Miya sighed as the day continued. Like always she was doing chores around the house, there wasn't as much for her to do now, with Naruto and the others around she now had several willing hands to help her clean the inn. It was nice to have people so willing to help her out, however, she had to admit that with others doing a lot of the chores for her, Miya was feeling a bit bored. It was well past noon and neither Naruto nor his two Sekirei had returned yet. She wasn't too worried. She knew very well that they could take care of themselves. Musubi had been training with her and so Miya was confident in the young woman's skills. She didn't know much about Akitsu's or Naruto's ability, but according to Kagari, the light haired woman was a powerful ice user and Naruto was capable of hand-to-hand combat on par with a fist type Sekirei. So she had confidence they would be fine. However, just because she was sure they were fine, didn't mean she wasn't going to comment on their absence. "I wonder why no one is home yet. I hope nothing bad has happened." Sitting over on the porch with one knee drawn up to his chest, with his left hand resting lightly on his knee, Kagari laughed at the woman. "You know, you kind of sounded like their mother just then." Turning around to Kagari, Miya offered the white-haired Sekirei a closed eyed smile. The pleasant look was offset by the way shadows hung over the upper half of her face, hiding her eyes, giving a frightening look to the joyful smile. The fact that there was purple energy leaking out of the woman, along with killing intent and a giant hanya mask behind her only added to the bloodcurdling look. "Hmm? What was that?" Kagari's face paled, surprising considering how pale his complexion already was. He quickly turned around so that he wouldn't have to look at the scary woman, not that it did any good at keeping the fear away. Just knowing she was still there, standing behind him that was terrifying smile and that horrible hanya mask was enough to give him the jitters. "Uh... ahem I uh, I mean, you sounded like their big sister." There were a few seconds in which Kagari felt intense, overwhelming fear. He absently wondered if this was what it felt like when you knew you were about to die. He was thankful when the killing intent disappeared a few seconds later. Turning around he saw Miya looking thoughtful as she carefully hung the rug she had just cleaned on the drying rack. "I guess your right," she said at last, making Kagari sigh in relief. "I look after them and give me advice, so I guess in a sense I am their big sister." "And what about Naruto?" "Huh?" When Miya looked over at Kagari in confusion, the young man clarified. "Are you his big sister as well?" Miya blinked. "I... don't know..." Her relationship with Naruto was strange. The blond man was much different then his Sekirei. Or maybe it was just that he was... more, then his Sekirei. Naruto shared several traits with each of the Sekirei he had winged so far. He was quiet and respectful like Akitsu, but could be just as enthusiastic and childish as Musubi when it suited him. His love of gardening was complimented by Kusano's ability to grow plants, and while he was very good at keeping himself in check, Miya was sure the man had a perverted side that could match Matsu on her worst days. The fact that she had found several scripts for a new Icha Icha book when cleaning his room more or less confirmed that fact for her. And yet, while he bore similarities with his Sekirei, he was also very different from them. For one, he was not afraid of her when she used her demonic visage, which was simply what she called the combination of her scary smile and hanya mask. On several occasions he had even stated that it was the 'most awesome thing he had ever seen' and had asked her to teach it to him multiple times. She had of course, smiled and told him that she couldn't teach him because then she would have to kill him. Yet rather then gulp in fear and slink away with his tail tucked between his legs, the blond man would just pout and try to convince her another way. Usually this consisted of his 'fox kit eyes' as Matsu had called them, namely because he looked like a fox when doing it thanks to his whiskers. If she were honest, Miya thought he looked absolutely adorable when he did that. She had even stated it on several occasions, which would send Naruto into a fit of crying while he claimed that he was not adorable and being called such a girly word was unbefitting of a man of his manly status. This would often send her into a fit of giggling, much to his consternation. There were more facts to consider when thinking about her relationship with Naruto. He was very helpful and was always willing to do what was needed around the house so she could relax. He enjoyed cooking, both she and Naruto had cooked several meals together and she couldn't deny that she had fun when they did. Despite the amount of time he spent helping out around the house, cleaning, cooking and the like, he always had time for his Sekirei. It was impressive, how he was able to divide his time between four girls equally, ensuring that none of them wanted for anything, least of all time with him. Sometimes they did things together and sometimes he spent time with them alone, but he always made sure that his Sekirei were content and happy. Though this had caused some problems for Miya when she caught Naruto and Matsu very close to having sex. The pair had been in Matsu's hidden room and she had caught them wearing nothing more then boxers and a pair of panties. Matsu had been straddling Naruto, and the blond had one hand on her left breast, the other had been caressing his Sekireis derriere, and his mouth had been suckling on her right breast. It had been a very provocative scene, and just the memory of the pair was enough to cause her to blush in a mixture of annoyance and embarrassment. Thankfully Akitsu and Musubi didn't have the same perverted desires as the red head, though Miya was sure the ice user wouldn't mind being sexually active with the blond. He was also determined, she had seen his eyes, unlike many of the other Sekirei who did not truly understand the horror of war, Miya had fought and killed numerous times. His eyes burned with a fierce determination and a will that was stronger then the toughest steel. What made his eyes even more impressive was that she could see the pain he was in, he had emotional scars from his past. What had happened she didn't know, she was curious though and would not deny that. But until he was ready to reveal that to her Miya had vowed to keep silent on the matter. There were many other things about Naruto that made her wonder about their relationship. He was someone she could put her trust in. Miya had told Kagari many times, but she was positive that Naruto would be the one who broke the chains of fate that bound the Sekireis to the Sekirei Plan. As for their relationship, she felt that they were more then acquaintances, and she felt they were more then friends, but definitely not lovers – she didn't want to betray her husbands memory after all. At the same time she could not think of a familial term to describe what he was to her and she to him. So then what were they? Confidants? That would require them to feel safe in revealing their secrets to each other, and as they had yet to do so, she could not rightly call him that. Close friends? Maybe, she did consider him to be a great friend, and despite having only known him for a few weeks she could honestly say that she trusted him with her life. Perhaps that was the best way to describe their relationship. Close enough that she considered him a part of her family, but with no familial feelings attached. "We're home!" The sound of Musubi's voice brought Miya out of her inner thoughts. She, along with Kagari who had been watching her with some concern as she thought, turned to towards the general direction the voice had come from. "Oh, it looks like those three have finally returned." Miya walked into the living room just as Naruto and the others entered as well, and received a surprise. "Oh my," Miya held a hand to her mouth as a surprised look crossed her face. "Make that four." Naruto had a very sheepish grin on his face as he looked at the purple-haired beauty. Standing on his left was Tsukuimi, who was once again clinging to his arm with a zealous look on her face. Akitsu had let go of his other arm when they entered, but she still stood close to the blond, and Musubi had thankfully gotten off his back. Now she was standing off to the side, her hands raised above her head in an excited gesture. All Miya could do was shake her head. "Sorry about running so late," Naruto started, scratching the back of his head with his free hand. "We uh, ran into a few problems that had to be taken care of." Problems being a relative word. Honestly, Naruto was sure that no one else had to deal with this kind of crap on a daily basis, even other Ashikabi. Musubi decided to add her own comment. "I hope you don't mind we brought our new friend home too!" Tsukuimi just looked at the beautiful woman before her in typical Tsukuimi fashion as she addressed Naruto. "Perhaps you would care to introduce us?" "Ah, right!" Naruto gave a closed eyed smile, the squinted look making him reminiscent of a fox. "The young woman before us is our totally awesome landlady, Asama Miya-chan." Miya couldn't keep the giggle from escaping her lips at the way Naruto had addressed her as the 'totally awesome landlady'. It sounded so... American, at least to her. Behind her Kagari snorted in amusement at the way Naruto introduced Miya. "A pleasure." Miya bowed slightly as she gave the blond woman a cheery smile. "And who might you be?" Naruto opened his mouth to introduce the newest member of his ever growing family... of super hot woman with very powerful inhuman abilities, when Tsukuimi beat him to it. "I'm his wife." She wasn't known for her subtlety. "Not this again..." Naruto sighed. Thankfully he had not spoken loud enough to be heard, there was no telling what Tsukuimi would do if she thought he was being insincere in her decision to be his wife. Given her Tsundere personality he had plenty of imagery on what sorts of violence she might unleash upon him. Or at least try to unleash. Miya on the other hand was balancing her amusement at the blond man's situation and surprise. Even though she was unsure of just what she should say to that statement, she decided to go with the simplest of responses. "Your wife?" "But of course," Tsukuimi said, as if her answer should have been obvious to figure out from the start. "We art both connected now, and that makes me thy wife." Once again, Musubi, who had more or less forgotten about their previous conversation – argument – on who was to be Naruto's wife, just had to make herself known. And so she threw herself at Naruto, hugging him to her. She looked into his eyes, her own seeming to sparkle, or maybe that was the reflection of the sun. "Naruto-Sama and Musubi are connected as well! Then that would mean that Musubi is also Naruto-Sama's wife!" "Thou art not his wife!" Tsukuimi seethed at the other woman holding onto her husband. Her fists shook with the kind of fury that only a female could produce. It was almost as bad as a woman that had found a man peeping on her. "Unhand him you wench!" And so the battle began again as Musubi decided that because she and Naruto were also connected that she must be his wife. While Tsukuimi kept trying to lay the claim that she was Naruto's one true wife, and that Musubi and Akitsu and consequently anyone else the blond had winged were just mistresses. Naruto wasn't quite capable of following Tsukuimi's line of reasoning when it came to the reasons she was his wife, but the other Sekirei weren't. Then again, he also wasn't Tsundere. "Ufufufu." A little ways away from the argument taking place between Musubi and Tsukuimi, Matsu watched on, giggling like the pervert she was. Her glasses held a perverted gleam to them, or maybe that was just a reflection of the light. She had one hand placed delicately over her mouth, so as to hide her giggle, even though the act did very little in that regard. "Oh man, this is like a soap opera." Truly, there was nothing funnier then watching the shenanigans her fellow Sekirei and her Ashikabi got up to. Leaning against the wall just a few feet away, Kagari looked at Matsu with a 'wtf' expression on his face, then looked back at where Tsukuimi and Musubi were arguing and shook his head. "I'm surprised to see your not fighting over him with them." Matsu stopped taking great pleasure in watching Naruto's plight as she turned her head to look at the white-haired Sekirei. "I don't need to join them in battling it out. I have my own way of attracting Naruto-tan." A small bit of drool escaped her lips as she thought about the last encounter they had. She had been so close to getting laid, if it hadn't been for Miya the red head was sure she and Naruto would have gone all the way. Turning away from Kagari so she could watch the rest of this small skit, she gave one last parting comment. "In this soap, I don't have to get dirty. Ufufufu!" "That sounded so lame, Matsu." 'Still, I can't help but be impressed.' Kagari looked over at where Naruto was trying – and failing – to convince the two women to stop fighting over who got to be his wife. In particular he looked at Tsukuimi as she pressed the blonds arm into the valley of her breasts. 'Tsukuimi was well known for hating Ashikabis with a passion. Yet somehow he convinced her to be winged by him.' "Fool!" Tsukuimi seemed to have enough arguing with words and had decided to use her fists... or water. "Let us settle this once and for all!" Musubi smiled as she got into a fighting stance. She really wasn't sure what was going on, aside from the fact that Tsukuimi wanted to be Naruto's only wife – whatever that was – and she wanted to be it to. Despite not knowing what a wife was. However, while she may not know what a wife was, it was clear Tsukuimi was looking for a fight, and Musubi – excitable Sekirei that she was – was more then happy to oblige her. "I would be happy too!" Unfortunately for them, and fortunately for the safety of everyone else in the house, Miya had no intention of letting them fight. "Enough!" Using the cane she had in her hand Miya smacked both Tsukuimi and Musubi in the head. The resulting force of her strike was hard enough to leave a large lump on their heads. "Violence is not allowed here at Mason Izumo, is that understood!" Tsukuimi looked at the purple-haired beauty in a mixture of awe and fear. "She's good." "Uh huh," Musubi agreed as she rubbed the lump on her head, tears forming at the corner of her eyes. "I won't do that again, Miya." Miya smiled at Musubi before turning her attention to Tsukuimi. Seeing as the blond woman had yet to agree not to use violence she decided to add a little reinforcement. A dark purple energy cloaked her body and once more the hanya mask made it's reappearance behind her. "How about you?" It was clear to see that Tsukuimi was frightened, despite her best efforts to appear confident. Several beads of sweat dripped from her scalp and she was shaking ever so slightly as she coughed into her hand. "Well, they say whilst in Rome, do it as the Romans. So I shall obey thy laws here." While all this was happening, Kusano had just woken up. Hearing all the noise downstairs and wondering what it was about, the little Sekirei walked out of her room and down the stairs. "Onii-chan!" Seeing her big brother back from where ever he had gone, Kusano quickly ran up to the blond man. Having heard the shout Naruto turned and laughed when he saw the small child hurrying towards him. He bent down and quickly scooped the girl in his arms, spinning her around a few times for good measure, much to the delight of the plant-type Sekirei. "Were you a good girl today, Ku-chan? Didn't give Miya-chan any problems while I was gone, did you?" "Uh uh." Kusano shook her head, before giggling as Naruto rubbed their noses together in a sign of affection. Tsuikimi looked at the little girl, and for some reason felt an intense burst of irritation. "Is it just me, or do you also feel as if you had just been defeated?" Musubi nodded in agreement. "I don't know how, but I know exactly what you mean." XoX Naruto leaned back against the wall as he sat on the backyard porch and sighed. Today had been a difficult day, he decided. And not just due to the amount of trouble he had gone through to convince Tsukuimi to be his Sekirei. Even after the argument between Musubi and his newest Sekirei had been halted by Miya, it had not ended. Less then an hour later, during dinner the whole dispute between his two Sekirei had continued when Matsu had made a simple greeting... and no doubt in an effort to amuse herself called Tsukuimi her 'fellow wife'. It had been with a mixture of amusement and worry when he had watched Musubi and Tsukuimi take up arms with the issue again, Naruto was sure that had been Matsu's intent the whole time. It was funny, because even though she argued that she was also Naruto's wife, Musubi honestly did not know what a wife was. Tsukiumi on the other hand had managed to greatly disturb him during dinner, when she had been introduced to Uzume who had come down to eat a few minutes after everyone else had sat down. Upon seeing that Naruto had gained yet another Sekirei, Uzume had taken great pleasure in teasing him some more about 'adding another one' as she called it. Of course, the moment another Sekirei had entered the room, Tsukuimi had taken issue with the girl. Naruto was sure that if it were not for him and Uzume quickly clarify that she was not his Sekirei the brunette would have possibly undergone death by Tsundere. At least before Miya would have put a stop to it... by hitting them both on the head with the end of her swords Tsuka. After wards she had told them both that 'violence was not permitted at Izumo Inn' and produced that awesome mask to scare them into obedience. Naruto still had to convince her to teach him how to do that. After determining that Uzume was no longer a threat, Tsukuimi had greeted her cordially. Of course, when the woman had told her good luck and that she would need it considering all the competition, Tsukuimi had informed the woman she would not need luck. That was when things got disturbing. Tsukuimi, after saying that had added, "because I am the only real wife among them." Then she had turned her head to look at the other Sekirei and smiled. And then she smiled her teeth had gleamed. GLEAMED! It had been like watching bushy-brows and bushier-brows rise from the dead. In that single moment, Tsukuimi had disturbed him so greatly that when she had asked him if he wanted to bath with her the blond had only been able to shudder. Of course, things went to a whole new level of disturbing after Kusano had claimed that she was also Naruto's wife. The fact that she had called him onii-chan immediately after wards only added a whole new dimension of disturbing to the scene. And Miya had been no help at all. Naruto was sure the woman took great pleasure in his plight. He had seen her giggling away as the argument continued – since it had not come to blows she had felt no need to get involved. And when he had asked her for help, she had just mouthed 'good luck' and continued smiling that deceptively sweet smile of hers. 'Guys who think it would be awesome to have a harem have obviously never considered just how much trouble goes into making everyone happy. Seriously, while time might not be able to kill me, I'm almost sure that those girls are.' Feeling something shift in his lap Naruto looked down and saw Kusano sleeping peacefully. He was grateful that she was still young, because she was younger her body only ran for five hours a day before she had to go to sleep. Which meant he only had to deal with her for five hours a day. Not to say he disliked dealing with the youngest of his Sekirei. He loved the little girl like a younger sister, or a daughter, he was on the fence about just what she was to him. Not that it changed much, she was one of his precious people and in the end that was really all that mattered. The sound of footsteps alerted Naruto to the fact that someone was coming. Judging from the vibrations and lightness in the steps he knew it was Miya. His theory was proved a second later when said woman walked up to him, smiling her usual smile. "There you are, Naruto-san. I was wondering if you have seen Kusano? It's getting late and she – oh my!" Miya covered a hand with her mouth to hide her smile, which Naruto just knew was getting wider as she knelt down next to him. "It looks like she's all tuckered out, how cute. Must be due to all this excitement about marriage. Ufufufufu." "You... are an evil, evil woman," Naruto commented as he sent a mild glare her way. Normally such comments would have earned the hanya mask, however, Miya knew that A) he was just kidding around and B) it wouldn't have worked on him anyways. So she just continued to smile as she sat down. A comfortable silence engulfed the two. It was often like this, Miya enjoyed the peacefulness of the moment, and Naruto often used the small amount of peace in between the chaos to meditate. Sometimes they would hold a conversation, and sometimes they would just sit together in silence. Today, Naruto had something he wanted to talk about. "You never told me your husband was a part of MBI." If Miya was surprised by his knowledge of her husbands past she didn't let it on. "No, I suppose I didn't." She looked over at him, her eyes holding more curiosity then anything else. "When did you figure that out?" "I've suspected it for a while now," Naruto admitted with a shrug. "You didn't seem all that surprised when Musubi admitted she was a Sekirei, nor were you surprised when I brought Kusano home." He sent her a mildly accusing look, remembering how she had pointed a sword at him. Miya just giggled, not at all bothered by his look, causing him to sigh. "There were other pieces of evidence. The fact that your holding someone who is wanted by MBI, that the only people in this house besides me are Sekireis. Then there is the fact that you are a Sekirei as well." Miya stiffened for a moment, surprise evident on her features. It was only for a moment, but it was long enough that Naruto could see the slight widening of her eyes and the way her mouth opened to form a delicate 'o' of surprise. A moment later, however, she relaxed, her posture once again becoming serene and her face taking on a placid expression. She looked at him, a mild look of idle curiosity as she asked. "How did you figure that out?" "Well, it could have been from your graceful movements. You can find out a lot about someone by the way they walk and act. You have all the lethal grace of a warrior, yet you act like a very kind and caring woman." Naruto eyed her speculatively. "I suspect that at one point you were used as a tool in war, but changed, most likely due to your husband." "You're very good," Miya said, silently giving Naruto the knowledge that his observations were correct. "I suppose I should not be surprised you were able to glean so much from simply interacting with me. Yet for some reason, I am. However, if we are going to play this game, then I feel it would only be fair if I had my turn." Naruto scratched his chin in thought for a moment before shrugging. "Be my guest." "You are an extremely kind, caring and compassion man," she started, her body shifting so she could better face him. "You are also strong and a skilled fighter, and hold yourself with a warriors grace. Despite your often jovial attitude your eyes hold a deep seated pain that gets the best of you sometimes. When it does your eyes often look far older then you are. I suspect you suffered some great tragedy in your past, one that had to do with war." "Your partly right," Naruto admitted. "I suffered a lot because of war, I lost much because of it. But there is more to it then that." "Oh?" Miya raised an eyebrow, offering him a silent invitation to share his tale. However, Naruto just smiled sadly and turned back to the sky. Miya sighed, she had been rather hopeful during the conversation that she would learn more, and while some of her thoughts had been confirmed, she still learned very little about the man next to her. He seemed intent on keeping the mystery behind his past as secret as possible, and Miya couldn't help but wonder if he would ever inform someone about his past. Just then, Kusano mumbled, "onii-chan, make me your wife." "Urk." Miya covered her mouth with her hand. "Ufufufu, how cute." "Geh." XoX "That Naruto..." Tsukuimi sighed, shaking her head as she took off her clothes. A hand reached behind her back, grabbing the zipper there and pulling it down. She slowly slid out of her clothing, allowing it to pool at her feet before picking it up, folding it, and putting it in one of the cubbyholes on the left wall of the changing room. "I offered to do my wifely duties and wash his back, but he refrained." She couldn't understand why he had refused her, the moment she had asked if he wished to partake in a bath with her, he had just shuddered and mumbled something about a sunsets and genjutsu – whatever that was – and then left. Was it not he who had asked for her hand in marriage? And yet here he was, not allowing her to do what it was any good wife would do and share in the intimacy of bathing. Disgruntled and confused, Tsukuimi wrapped a towel around her beautiful frame and entered the bath house. Musubi and Akitsu were both already there, with the brunette Sekirei washing the ice users back. She ignored them as she moved to one of the stools and sat down, crossing her arms as she glared at the door like it was it's fault that Naruto had refused her. "I'm supposed to share bath and birth with him." Musubi and Akitsu looked over at the blond irritated blond woman, one confused and the other... well, she honestly didn't care. "What does it mean to share a birth?" Tsuikikimi looked incredulous at the clueless brunette. Shaking her head pitiably she said, "thou logger head. It's when a man and a women sleep cocooned." Listening to the conversation between the two, Akitsu could only shake her head. There was no way Musubi would understand those words. "... cocooned?" There you go. "It is nothing that should concern you," Tsukuimi said dismissively. "You are not his real wife anyways, so none of this matters." "Hey! I am his real wife!" Musubi argued. If it would not have ruined her image of poise and grace, Tsukuimi would have snorted. "You do not even know what it means to be a real wife." "So?" Musubi asked. "It shouldn't matter if I don't know what it means to be a real wife! I'm still his wife!" Yes, she was arguing about being something even though she had no clue what it was. But that was Musubi for you. Tsuikimi just huffed, she was not in the mood for pointless bickering. It was not as if Musubi arguing her cause would make the reality any different. Naruto could only have one wife, and he had asked her, Tsukuimi, not Musubi to be his one and only. Even if she had to... share him with others, she would not share that title. She had her pride as a Sekirei on the line! "And what of you?" Tsukuimi looked at Akitsu. The woman had been silent all through out there conversation. In fact, thinking back on it the ice user had rarely ever spoken at all. The one time she had said anything it was only to express her concern for Naruto's well being. "You do not seem concerned about not being Naruto's wife. Dost that not bother the?" "Truthfully?" Akitsu shrugged, her lazy expression unchanging. "I don't think it matters. It's not as if saying you are his wife is going to make a difference." Tsukuimi's right eye began to twitch with irritation. If Akitsu noticed this or not she did not say as she continued speaking. "Ashikabi-Sama does not play favorites. No matter what anyone else says he won't give you anymore attention then he does me, Musubi, Matsu or Kusano. He loves us all equally." It would have been so easy for Tsukuimi to dismiss the woman's claims. However, Akitsu had spoken without an inflection in her voice. She truly believed what she said. Curiosity getting the best of her, Tsukuimi could not help but ask. "And why dost thou say that?" By now Musubi had finished washing Akitsu's back. The two switched places, and as she began to scrub the back of her fellow Sekirei and sister she said, "because he saved me. I was broken, unwanted and tossed out on the street like trash. I truly believed I was worthless... nothing but a broken tool." It was the most either of them had ever heard the woman speak. Even Musubi, who had been with her much longer, ever since Naruto found Akitsu in fact, had never heard her say so much in a single conversation. Akitsu allowed a very small smile come to her face. "It was Ashikabi-Sama who showed me differently. He told me that I have worth, that there was something unique to me and only me and it was what gave me my worth. He took me in, even though I couldn't be winged." Tsuikimi gasped, eyes widening in realization. Akitsu just smiled. "And then he did what should have been impossible. He winged me." "I see," Tsuikimi took a moment to visibly calm down. Her mind went over this new piece of information. It was a shocking revelation after all. "Then you are the one they called the Broken Sekirei, and I suppose that would make Naruto the Miracle Worker." "Miracle worker?" Akitsu and Musubi looked at each other, for once they were both confused. "That was the name that was given to Naruto by unwinged Sekirei," Tsuikimi explained, her brow furrowing in thought. This new revelation was startling. "I had only heard speak of that name in passing, rumors of a Sekirei that was supposedly impossible to wing but had been. At the time, I had not cared for Ashikabi and did not pay much attention." She shrugged. "I had more important things on thine own mind, and the knowledge of another Sekirei being winged, regardless of who they were, had not interested me at the time." Tsukuimi remained silent after that, absorbing the woman's words. Was it true? Did Naruto truly not love one of them over the other? If she thought about it, she could see that Akitsu's words made sense. She had yet to be around Naruto for very long, but even though he had more then one Sekirei – which irked her to know end – he did not seem like an evil or vile person. He had even given her the option of declining to join him, should she wish it. While she may have tried to turn a blind eye to reality, Tsukuimi was not stupid. She knew that eventually there would be someone who would want try to wing her by force, it would have only been a matter of time. When all of the others had been winged and she was the only one left, every Ashikabi on the planet would have gone after her. As much faith as she had in herself and her abilities, she was not sure if she would have been able to continue resisting. Would she have even had a choice once all of the other Sekireis had been winged? She shuddered at the thought of someone forcing her to be their Sekirei. At least with Naruto it had been her choice. If nothing else, the man had honor. "Would you like me to wash your back?" Knocked out of her thoughts, Tsukiumi looked over to see a smiling Musubi. When she noticed Akitsu was gone she took a look around the room, before finding her lounging in the bath with a peaceful expression on her face. She then looked back at the other Sekirei to see the woman still smiling. "I... suppose it would not hurt," Tsukiumi admitted as she stood up. Making her way over to the enthusiastic young woman, she sat down on the stool and soon felt a soapy sponge press up against her back. "Why art thou willing to bath with me? Is the not angry at me for taking away Naruto?" Musubi blinked. "Eh? Not really. And what do you mean taking away? Naruto is still here." "That's not what I mean." Tsukuimi's words lacked any heat to them, partly because she was tired of how clueless the woman was, and partly because she just could not understand Musubi. "Naruto-Sama said we were all like sisters," Musubi said, making Tsukuimi perk up in attention. "He told me that Sekireis were all like sisters of each other, and that he wanted his Sekireis to be as close as sisters. That way when things got rough we would have each others support." His words had actually been in regards to her and Akitsu at the time, but while Musubi was naïve and sometimes slow when it came to certain issues, she was surprisingly perceptive. It had not been hard for her to realize that when Naruto had told her this, he meant all of his Sekirei. "I see, that dost sound like something he would say." Tsuikimi allowed a small smile to grace her beautiful face. "He is a good man, isn't he?" "Mmm hm! Naruto-Sama is the best!" XoX "It has just been confirmed that Sekirei number nine has been winged." Minaka smiled as he heard Takami's words. His smile turned positively gleeful as he looked out over the sleeping city. "Then it's time." He laughed as he realized that the moment he had been waiting for had finally come. "Ninety percent of the birds that we have let loose have been granted there wings. We also control a majority of this city and we can seize the rest of it in a matter of hours! It's a fitting stage for the drama that's about to unfold!" It had taken a long time. He could still remember when he had let loose the first group of Sekirei, those with single numbers. It felt like such a long time ago, much longer then the eight or so months that had actually passed. Behind him Takami sighed, as always Minaka was beginning to get too into his speech. Raising his hands in the air, Minaka continued what would have been a nice evil monologue were anyone other then him and Takami there to hear it. "Sekirei shall fight Sekirei and none shall escape! Phase two of the Sekirei Plan starts now!"Now then, I hope you all enjoyed the chapter, and since that chapter is done, I believe it would be prudent of me to answer a concern a few people have been having.
In a few reviews, people have mentioned how I am replacing Minato with Naruto. Now, I am not going to deny this because, really, anyone who has watched or read Sekirei will recognize that so far, everything that has happened, was part of the canon. Now there will be changes eventually, major ones in fact. I won't tell you what or when they will happen, because I don't want to ruin my story. However, I will answer the concern about Naruto gaining Minato's original line up of Sekirei. I actually have two reasons for doing this. Well, three, but two that I actually put a lot of thought into. The first has to do with the timeline, meaning that Minato Sahashi started the game late. From what I understand, Minato only gained Musubi about a month or two before the second phase of the Sekirei plan started. What this means is that by the time Minato winged Musubi, almost 85% of the Sekirei that had been released had already been winged by an Ashikabi. Now, I suck at math, so I can't tell you how many Sekirei 85% is, but I do know that there were 108 Sekirei total, and 85% of 100 is 85, so adding 8 more Sekirei to that number means that there were not a lot of Sekirei by the time Minato winged Musubi. For those of who are following this and are thinking "WTF?" I will inform you that this was a very long-winded explanation to essentially tell you that Naruto started late – because when Minato met Musubi in canon the game was already 6 or so months in – in the game and therefore there were not very many Sekirei for him to wing. The second reason is that I did not want to create any OC Sekireis. Aside from my general dislike of OC's in a story, I have no doubt that we will eventually see all 108 Sekirei in the canon. It's only logical, NOT revealing every Sekirei would be like telling us that there are 151 Pokemon and then NOT showing us all 151 Pokemon. To do that is not only illogical but also doesn't make sense and serves no purpose. Now, because we don't know all of the Sekirei out there, and the ones we DO know were already winged BEFORE Naruto came to Shinto Teito – with the sole exception being the ones Minato wings himself – means there was simply no way for me to have Naruto wing any of them. There will be very few, if any, changes from the canon backstory. Meaning that just about everything that happened before he became an Ashikabi is canon, so the only things that will really change is because Naruto's presence and actions change them. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
