Neji stood up pushing all his pain aside. Friend or foe coming, he wasn't doing anyone any good chained to a wall. He grabbed a fork that Sasuke had been saving to throw at the door and tried to use it to pry the proximity detector out of its place.

"SHIT! DAMN IT!" He couldn't help but yell out loud. He had been right. As soon as he'd gotten it to move just a millimeter the whole anklet had clamped down on him. It felt like a piranha. "Fuck!"

"Neji?"

It was Naruto! Neji dropped to his knees and tried to wedge the fork in between his ankle and the blade that was threatening to decapitate his foot.

"Naruto! I'm in here! The open door!"

Naruto came running in seconds later, followed by a dark looking girl.

"What are you doing?" Naruto was looking at him with alarm. Neji's leg was drenched in blood from the knife wound, and from Naruto's vantage point it look like he was trying to pry off his foot with a fork.

"It's this restraint. It's cutting into me. It's some kind of booby-trap." Neji was choking on tears now. The pain and pressure kept increasing.

"Mina, can you get it?" Naruto hoped upon hope that this was similar to the locks that held his wrist bands in place.

"I can try." She looked down at the boy on the ground. "Move the fork and hold still if it's possible."

A white swirl of lightening appeared in her hand. They all heard footsteps and yelling in the hall. The swirl disappeared.

"Naruto, shut the door!"

"I can't shut the door. We'll be trapped."

"Fine, distract them, kill them, I don't care. I can't do this if they're charging at me. It takes too much concentration."

Naruto rushed out into the hall and Mina started over. Even with all the racket in the hall she had no problem this time and right before Neji was sure his foot was a goner, the anklet fell off with a clink.

"Hold out your wrists. We're going to need your help." She moved the ball of light up to his wrists and the wrist bands slipped right off.

"Can you walk?"

Neji cautiously stood up. With his still bleeding leg and his now bleeding ankle, any movement at all sent blinding pain up and down his body. When he tried to take a step the world went black around him. The noises in the hall ceased and Naruto came rushing back in, no worse for the wear.

"Neji! Are you ok? Where's Sasuke?"

"Itachi came in and got him about fifteen minutes ago. I'm confused. Itachi told us you had been turned into the kyubbi and you had been taken by a witch. Sasuke agreed to go because he's trying to rescue you."

Neji noticed a look pass between Naruto and the dark haired girl. He hadn't noticed it before but she looked an awful lot like the Uchiha brothers.

"That's just great. C'mon we can't stay here. There will be more guards coming any minute." Naruto bent down to scoop up Neji. The older boy didn't like the idea of being carried but since he wasn't going to walk out of here on his own two feet, this would have to do.

"Are we going to go after them?" Neji asked quietly.

"I don't think we can. We aren't going to catch them if we're carrying you and we can't leave just leave you here."

"Go save Sasuke. I'll be fine."

"Don't be stupid. You won't be fine and we're not leaving you. I don't think Sasuke is in nearly as much danger as we are at the moment." Naruto sounded so stubborn that Neji didn't bother to argue.

"We'll go back to the woods. No one from this castle will venture in there and if Itachi gets close to the house I'll know." Mina sounded confidant but Neji noticed a twinge of nervousness in her voice. He almost fell when Naruto moved one of his hands out from under him and slammed his fist into the wooden frame of the door.

"Naruto-kun."

Naruto turned away from Mina but Neji could see tears streaming down his face.

"Little brother, we need to go." Her voice was soft and she put her hand on Naruto's shoulder. Naruto straightened himself up and relaxed at the same time. He let out a slow breath and stepped out of the door. Neji was thoroughly confused but decided to hold off on the questions. Obviously these two knew each other well. He'd never seen Naruto relax under someone's touch like that.

Without another word they fled the castle and in the dark of the night made their way back to the house in the woods. Once there they all quickly laid down to try and get some rest, Neji and Naruto sharing the bed and Mina sleeping on the couch. Naruto quietly wondered if he would ever see his best friend again. His mind wondered back to the night before they had left on their last mission. He'd never seen Sasuke look so happy.

"I hate weddings." Sasuke had the same scowl on his face as he took off his tie as he had had three hours before when he had put the tie on. Naruto couldn't help but laugh out loud.

"I'd think you'd be happy to have one of your entourage married off. Only 22 more and you'll be able to walk down the street in peace."

Sasuke's scowl melted into a smile as he eyed Naruto up and down.

"I think you mean 23. I've decided to count you in with the fangirls seeing as how you can't take your eyes off of me when we're in public."

Naruto threw his tie at Sasuke, then started to throw his dress shirt at him but thought better of it. It had been a gift from Sakura for his last birthday and he tried to take good care of it since it was the only one he had. It was bright blue and matched his eyes perfectly. He hadn't noticed, but a careful observer at the wedding would have seen many of Sasuke's admirers looking at Naruto instead of their usual object of desire.

As Sasuke continued to undress, Naruto came up behind him and wrapped his arms around Sasuke's slim waist, hooking his thumbs under the elastic of his boxers.

"I'm glad you're staying." He whispered softly into his lover�s ear, licking the earlobe and then trailing his tongue down Sasuke's neck all the way down to the nape of his hair. The older boy squirmed a little but Naruto held him tight.

"Not tonight, Uchiha. You promised, tonight you are mine."

"Naruto, I promised that before I knew we had a mission at 6:30 in the morning. You can't be keeping me up all night."

"I most certainly can keep you...up... all night. I'll keep you so... up... you'll be begging me to stop keeping you...up." He said it in his most provocative voice and was rewarded with a genuine smile.
�Fine, but I am not carrying your tired ass tomorrow, so keep that in mind.�
Naruto reached around in front of Sasuke and unbuttoned his dress pants. He continued his assault on the pale neck, nipping and sucking and was rewarded with a small groan and Sasuke rocking his hips back against him. Naruto reached into silk boxers and was amused to see how little it had taken to get his friend rock hard.
�See, I knew you wanted his as much as I did. You were so sexy tonight, sitting there at that table, scowling...� Naruto chuckled again, he couldn�t help it. He knew Sasuke had been trying to warn off all the girls that were asking Naruto to dance, and in spite of himself, he had enjoyed the possessive glares. That didn�t keep him from dancing though. He had finally turned into somewhat of a skilled dancer and he liked to show that off. When the adults had left and only drunk friends remained, the music turned more sultry and the boy and girls took to grinding. It was then that Sasuke had stood up from the table, marched over to Naruto, pried a very drunk Kiba off of him and dragged him out the door.
�I�m sure I was, dobe. You stared at me enough to let the whole room know you think I�m sexy.�
�Don�t accuse me of staring Sa-su-ke-kun. Your eyes didn�t leave my ass all night. It was embarrassing.� Naruto enjoyed the slight blush that washed over Sasuke�s cheeks.
�Whatever. Are we going to do this or not?� He asked huffily.
�Nope. I�ve changed my mind. I�m going to bed.� Naruto released Sasuke and leapt for the bed. The whole apartment shook as he landed and scurried to get under the covers. Sasuke just stood there for a moment, missing the heat of the body behind him.
�Oh no, you are not going to get me all horny and then just go to sleep.� He marched over to the bed and ripped off the covers and the sheets. Naruto gave him his best sleepy look and then pretended to snore.
�That�s fine. I�ll use you for whatever I want then. I don�t need you awake for what I�m planning to do.� He moved closer to Naruto and pulled his boxers down to his ankles. The cold air and the heat of Sasuke�s body made Naruto moan involuntarily and he was pulled into a kiss before he could get his breath back. They kissed for a long time and for once Naruto didn�t struggle for the upper hand and let Sasuke be in control. It was kind of nice not to fight it. When Sasuke pulled away from the kiss Naruto whimpered. He�d really been enjoying it!
Sasuke just smiled and kissed his way down Naruto�s body. When he reached his belly button he lapped at it like a kitten and circled it several times with his tongue. Naruto pushed up against the body that was slithering down his own. When Sasuke reached Naruto�s arousal he took the top of it quickly into his mouth and sucked softly. Once again Naruto pushed up against him but Sasuke put a hand firmly on his thigh and pushed him back down. He stopped what he was doing long enough to catch Naruto�s eye and give him a look that said �Be patient.� Naruto tried to lay there, not reacting or pushing, but Sasuke�s sucking and gently licking was driving him insane. This was like torture.... sweeeeeeet torture.
�Sasuuukke.� It came out as a moan and a whine all at once.
Sasuke stopped what he was doing and moved back up the tan body, covering Naruto�s mouth with his own. Naruto hadn�t noticed when he�d done it, but Sasuke had discarded his boxers as well. This kiss was more urgent than the last and Naruto could feel his swollen lips going numb. He needed more than this.
Sensing Naruto�s desire Sasuke started rummaging through the night stand next to the bed. When he found the lubricant he quickly opened it and got some on his fingers. He did all of this while still kissing because he and Naruto were definitely well practiced. Rubbing the liquid between his fingers for a few seconds to warm it up he could feel the blonde tense beneath him. Breaking the kiss he maneuvered himself into a more comfortable position and inserted a finger into Naruto.
�I don�t think we need to do this this time. I want you now.� Naruto�s voice was shaky with desire.
�I don�t want to hurt you.�
�You�re not going to hurt me. This is hurting me. I can�t wait for you for another second.�
Sasuke figured it would serve his friend right if it did hurt if he was going to be this demanding, so quickly he spread some lube on himself and then positioned himself over Naruto. Despite his previous thought, he was still very gentle when he eased himself in. Looking down at the sexy face of his lover, contorted slightly in pleasure and pain, he lost his breath at how much love he felt for this boy. He�d never felt like this.
�Sasuke?�
�Hn?�
�Move.�
�Oh, sorry.� Sasuke started moving in and out, gently at first, but as Naruto rocked against him, he couldn�t keep the slow pace for very long.
�Ohhhh...Su... ohhhh...� Naruto�s whole body bucked up.
Sasuke smiled. He must have hit that spot. Through lustful thoughts he continued to push in and out of that exact same spot. Naruto was practically convulsing beneath him and with a sharp cry, he came. Seeing Naruto quivering beneath him was all it took to finish Sasuke off and he filled his best friend with his warmth. Collapsing on top of him, he laid there for a moment, enjoying Naruto tracing light circles over his back. When he had regained enough strength to move he tenderly removed himself from the boy beneath him and then crawled off of the bed.
�Where are you going?�
Sasuke didn�t reply though and soon Naruto heard running water in the bathroom.
�Get up. We�re taking a bath together?�
�What?�
�It�s something I�ve always wanted to do. Showers just aren�t the same. I�ve made it nice and warm.�
Not wanting to disappoint Sasuke, Naruto followed him into the bathroom. Sure enough the bath was almost finished being drawn. The lights were out and Sasuke had lit a few candles. The older boy got in first and then Naruto lowered himself in between Sasuke�s legs. They both laid back and Sasuke caressed his fingers across Naruto�s tight stomach.
�I love you.� Sasuke whispered into the dim light

�What?� Naruto turned quickly and looked into the eyes of his friend.
�You heard me. I love you.� In the pale light Sasuke looked like an angel as he spoke. The usual standoffishness was completely gone. Naruto had never seen Sasuke look so happy.

Tears were wetting Naruto�s pillow when he woke up. Mina and Neji were asleep but Naruto didn�t want to sleep anymore. His heart was breaking. He hadn�t allowed himself to think about that night since he�d been captured. It was too fragile. It was more like a dream than a reality. They had to find Sasuke. They just had to. Naruto put his head back on the pillow and lifted up a silent prayer.
�Please let him be ok. Please bring him back to me.�

"How long are we going to keep going like this." Sasuke knew it came out as a whine but he really didn't think he was going to be able to run much further.

"Some ninja." Itachi spoke under his breath.

"I heard that." Sasuke hissed. "It just so happens that my whack-job of a brother has had me pinned up in a castle all week and I wasn't really eating very well. Oh, did I mention I'm sore as hell because you raped me? What the fuck were you thinking?"

Ordinarily Itachi would never let Sasuke get away with that kind of outburst but he didn't have the energy to worry about it. Sasuke didn't realize it but this was the second run like this Itachi had made this day. He came to a halt and his younger brother almost collapsed into him because of the sudden stop.

"There are caves up ahead. We'll camp there for the night."

Itachi still wasn't sure if he had been correct in thinking Mina knew about Sasuke, but he wasn�t too worried about them catching up with him tonight. If they'd gone to the castle, they weren't going to just leave the bleeding Hyuuga boy there. That was the problem with having a conscience. It slowed you down.

As they approached a dense thicket, Itachi moved some branches and sure enough there was a hidden entrance to a cave. He put his hand on Sasuke's head and pushed him low to make certain he didn't bang his head on the ceiling. It would be difficult to keep up any kind of pace if his brother had a concussion. At least that's what he told himself. He wasn't sure he liked this side of him that held tenderness. He didn't even know where it was coming from. When this was all over, he was going to have to go see a doctor.

He lit a small fire with some kindling that was already in a fire pit and headed over to the corner of the cave to take a pillow and a few blankets out of a satchel.

"Did you know we were going to be camping here?" Sasuke asked. It seemed odd that these things would be sitting around randomly in a cave.

"..." Itachi said nothing. He threw a blanket at his younger brother and positioned himself in front of the entrance to the cave. It was clear he assumed Sasuke would try to escape.

"Aren't you afraid I'll try to kill you in your sleep?" Sasuke was almost enjoying himself. He'd never had a chance to mouth off this his brother like this before. It surprised him that Itachi looked more annoyed than angry. A kunai flew past his face and embedded itself in the cave wall mere inches from his head. Sasuke ducked in terror. Itachi stood up, walked over to the kunai and pulled it from the wall.

"I wouldn't want you keeping this."

Sasuke cursed himself. Why hadn't he thought to grab the weapon? Itachi was being awfully careless but it didn't matter since he kept freezing up and making stupid mistakes. His older brother laid back down at the cave entrance but Sasuke could still see red eyes gazing at him in the dim light. He rolled over and turned his back on Itachi. His stomach growled loudly and seconds later he felt something soft hit him in the side of the head. It was a piece of bread. Sasuke ate quickly and then tried to lull himself to sleep by thinking about better days. He would never admit it to anyone but being in this cave with his brother made him feel safer than he had felt in years. Although he would not trust Itachi not to hurt him, he did trust implicitly that Itachi would not let anyone else hurt him. As he got closer to sleep his mind drifted back to his childhood.

"Sasuke. Sasuke. Sasuke you little brat, wake up."

Sasuke sat up with a start.

"You need to get back to your room now. I think I heard father go downstairs. If he catches you in here you're going to be in big trouble. Now out."

Sasuke wanted to whine but thought better of it. He had gotten a good nights sleep after he had crawled into bed with Itachi. He was always having nightmares when he stayed in his own room.

Sasuke eased himself out of bed and walked as quietly as he could out into the hallway. He was almost back to his room when his father came into view walking up the stairs.

"What were you doing?" He demanded. Sasuke flinched and backed up in to the corner. He was going to be punished. His father walked over to him and pulled him up straight.

"I was in Itachi's room, father." Tears were forming in his eyes. His father slapped him hard across the cheek. His face burnt and his father lifted his hand to strike him again.

"Father, I asked him to come wake me up this morning. I trained late and I thought I might accidentally sleep in." Itachi had stepped out into the hallway and was staring fiercely at the scene before him.

Sasuke took a quick breath. He couldn't believe Itachi was doing this! Lying to their father?

The man took a step back and let go of Sasuke. He looked at him coldly and then walked back down the stairs.

"Aniki!" Sasuke ran to his brother and hugged him around the waist. Itachi pried his little hands out from around him and pushed him gently away.

"Don't think I'm always going to protect you. Someday you're going to have to do that for yourself."

"I don't know why I can't just sleep in your bed. I feel better when you're close."

"That's your problem Sasuke. You need to learn to depend on yourself."

"I don't know how."

"Don't worry. Someday I'll teach you."

"Tomorrow?"

Itachi was amazed at the eagerness of his younger brother.

"Not tomorrow, but someday."

Sasuke sat up. Itachi was asleep now but Sasuke felt more unsettled now than he had before. He had tried to push all those memories out of his mind long ago. They were more painful than even the memories of the night before. Lord, had it only been one day since Itachi was taking him in that room? It seemed like a year ago already. Not knowing what the next day would bring, Sasuke tried once again to sleep. This time it came to him quickly and only when his breathing steadied did Itachi open his eyes once more. He'd heard Sasuke whimpering in his sleep and heard him cry out "Aniki!" He could only guess what was going through his little brother's mind.

cycune: I mostly do do what I want, but feedback is always appreciated. It amazed me than I can write long stories but am completely paralyzed by trying to write one sentence about my story. Weird, huh?

agal: Thanks for the feedback. After I read what you said I realized not everyone can see the outline on my desktop that makes it pretty clear Naruto and Mina aren�t getting together. Rather than annoy with a couple I myself wasn�t even rooting for I�ve changed the wording a little bit to make it more clear what I want to happen. Please continue to review! You helped me see I was leading the readers in the wrong direction. Thanks!
papermoon69: Don�t worry, Gaara will be coming up, although I can�t promise he will get with Naruto. I like Sasuke too much to have Naruto breaking his heart. :) I suppose it was a little shady that Sasuke tried to get with Neji, but I think he blinded by trauma.
