Author's note: I had a bit of a tiring week, so in another self-indulgent mood I threw a bit of Not for Sakura fans (just a smidgen this time) and some fluff together, because hell, it's December, so why not? We can all use a bit of fluff, no? As always, yes, I'm working on my other projects too, just needed to write a bit of fluff first.
Warnings: Dual pov (Sakura's and Sasuke's); Alternate universe; established slash; suggestive language; smidgen of Not for Sakura fans; fluff; just fluff; guess what Gaara wants to discuss; both parents' sets are alive
I hope you'll like this!

Being the secretary to one of the most important businessmen in the country came with a lot of perks, but some downsides as well. The downsides? It was hard work; even on Saturday she would often show up to shift through all the emails and letters and prepare the schedule for the upcoming week. Her boss also wasn't really a chatterbox, restricting himself mainly to business matters, which was kind of a bummer because he was one of the hottest men she'd come across so far and she wouldn't mind getting to know him better.
Especially because aside from being quite graced by the gods when it came to looks, he was highly intelligent as well, evidence being his high position in the company already at his young age and his knowledge of several languages, including English, French and even some Spanish.
Having the native accent and everything in the languages too. That did things to her, she wasn't going to lie; hearing him speak in foreign languages was hot, especially in his deep voice.
The perks far outweighed the downsides, however. The pay was amazing, she was respected by everyone at the company and again, her boss definitely was a looker, which made it a lot easier to work for him, even though he still remained rather stiff. She'd been working for him for nearly a year now, so she had hoped he would have relaxed more around her by now, but so far no dice. Her subtle inquiries about his personal life – mainly whether he was seeing someone romantically – were ignored, but she figured that the lack of anyone showing up throughout the entire year had to mean something, no? If Sasuke was with someone, wouldn't that woman have shown up at least once so far?
She would definitely visit Sasuke regularly if she was his girlfriend and wasn't working at the same company as him.
His lack of any real answers didn't deter her, though. There was nothing wrong with nursing a crush on your boss, especially if they were as hot as Sasuke was! And who could blame her for the occasional fantasy she had, where he would call her into the office and lock the door before proceeding to fuck her on his large, dark oak desk? Really, who wouldn't have that kind of fantasy when their boss was so damn sexy?
The phone ringing broke through her thoughts and she blinked, quickly accepting the call. "Sharingan Cooperation, how may I help you?" Sakura asked politely, smiling absently at Karin who'd obviously returned from her coffee break, judging by the takeaway cup still clenched in her hand.
The red haired woman was on the phone as well, returning her smile with a quick one of her before she passed her desk; her high heels click-clacking against the gleaming tiles. Sakura would need to ask her where she had bought those pretty red heels, because they were absolutely to die for.
"Sabaku no Gaara. Am I talking to the secretary of Uchiha Sasuke?" a male voice asked.
Well, the inquiry implied that it was a question, but his voice was rather flat even through the phone and didn't seem to contain any sort of infliction. Even Sasuke sounded more animated when talking to her.
"Yes, I'm his secretary," she confirmed. "What can I help you with, sir?"
"I need to discuss something important with him. When is he available?"
"Give me a moment, sir; I'll check his schedule." She pulled up the planner on her screen, going through the appointments for the upcoming week.
As she thought, both Monday and Tuesday were completely booked already, both with client appointments and meetings with the boards. Wednesday just had one more slot available at four in the afternoon, Thursday was looking a bit better with Sasuke being free from one to four and Friday …
She drew up short, blinking confused. She leant closer to the screen as if that would change the planner. Of course it didn't, but she thought she could be forgiven for being a bit stumped at the moment. Because for the first time she'd started working here, Friday was completely blocked off and not in the sense that it was fully booked with appointments. There were no appointments scheduled next Friday, no meetings or any other work assignments. When she hovered her mouse above it, the planner signalled that it was a holiday, which did nothing to diminish her confusion.
Quickly she checked the date; next week it would be the tenth of December, but to her knowledge the tenth wasn't a holiday, which made it all the more peculiar because even on national holidays Sasuke still had the habit of going to work. If an actual national holiday wasn't enough to keep him home, what was so special about this day then that he had blocked it off completely? He hadn't even mentioned it to her yet!
It couldn't be his birthday, because that was in July, and neither was it his brother's birthday. Leaning back in her chair, she stared at the date for a bit longer, gnawing on her lower lip. Why had he blocked off the tenth when he would barely even take a full weekend off?
"Hello? When is he available?" Sabaku's irritated question had her flushing and sitting up straight immediately, realising embarrassed that she had completely forgotten that she had someone on the line still.
"My apologies, I did not mean to keep you waiting for this long. Uchiha-sama has an opening at four next Wednesday," she said flustered. "If you require more than an hour, I would suggest next Thursday; then he's free from one to four. Would next week fit you, sir, or would you like me to check the week after that?"
"Schedule me in for Wednesday, this isn't going to take long," Sabaku said dismissively.
"Naturally, sir. I've booked you in for next Wednesday, eight of December at four p.m."
"Thanks." The beeping noise told her he'd abruptly hung up.
After putting the phone down, she rubbed her eyes, careful not to smudge her mascara and eyeliner. That could have gone better, but at least she hadn't lost a – potential client? Whatever Sabaku would turn out to be.
But the tenth of December … It bugged her, which was admittedly a bit ridiculous, because hey, if Sasuke wasn't going to work that day, that meant she could have an extra day off too! A longer weekend sounded divine right now, but at the same time her curiosity mounted even further.
What could have Sasuke all of a sudden decide to take a day off?
"The last meeting for today is with the HR manager," Sakura rattled off, checking the schedule just to be certain. "I already sent the necessary documents to you, sir."
"I've received them, yes," Sasuke confirmed, typing away on whichever document was holding half of his attention at the moment. "Anything else?"
"No, that would be everything for today." She hesitated, feeling like she was about to cross some imaginary boundary, but at the same time didn't she have the right to know why her boss suddenly would take a day off tomorrow?
She'd been agonising about that question for the past week, ever since that call with the Sabaku guy. She had assumed that Sasuke would mention taking a day off, but so far he hadn't said anything and her curiosity could no longer be contained. Ino had told her rather exasperatedly that she should just keep her mouth shut and enjoy the extra free day, but she couldn't rest – as a manner of speaking – until she knew the answer. Who wouldn't grow confused when their workaholic boss suddenly decided to take a day off out of the blue?
"Is there something else, Haruno-san?" Sasuke stopped typing and turned his head to her, lifting an eyebrow.
Ignoring the blush on her cheeks, she straightened up and asked, "I'm sorry, Uchiha-sama, but I've noticed that you booked tomorrow as a holiday. I was – wondering if there was a special reason for that?" She held her breath when he stared at her.
The silence, short as it was, felt stifling before he uttered a soft sigh and turned his attention back to the screen. "I always reserve a day off around this time of the year."
So it was a special occasion then? What for?
"Not that it really matters in the grand scheme of things, but I take a day off to help my boyfriend decorate the house for Christmas," he continued.
Oh right, that made sense.
Wait.
Her eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets.
His boyfriend?!
When Sasuke woke up, he wasn't surprised at all to find the side next to him completely empty. It should have surprised him, considering his boyfriend was not exactly the type to wake up early, but given what they had planned today, he hadn't expected the other man to sleep in for long.
And yes, making his way downstairs, he could hear noise in the living room; boxes being shuffled about and Naruto humming to himself loudly as the scent of brewing coffee filled the air.
He couldn't help but smile when he braced his shoulder against the doorjamb and watched how Naruto was flitting around in the room, pushing some cabinets to the side and straightening their coffee table as he prepared an empty space for the Christmas tree.
Christmas in general wasn't really celebrated in Japan – save for perhaps between couples – but Naruto had spent a good chunk of his life living in Europe where his father had worked before the family had eventually moved back to Japan. His Japanese was still a bit shaky at times, because even though both his parents spoke Japanese, he had spent many years around peers who only spoke English. That was one of the reasons why he still refused to visit Sasuke at his work, worried he would embarrass himself with his level of Japanese.
Which was just ridiculous, because at this point, thanks to Sasuke and their friends practicing with him intensively, Naruto had a near perfect grasp on Japanese and only his love for Christmas and Halloween betrayed that he hadn't grown up in Japan.
His love for these holidays saw Sasuke going out of his way to celebrate them with his boyfriend, because even though he would never admit it aloud, it warmed him seeing Naruto so happy when Sasuke helped him decorate their house. While Sasuke would never quite feel the Christmas or the Halloween spirit like Naruto did, seeing him smile so brightly and hear him recount all his fond memories was more than enough for him.
Naruto perked up when he whirled around and spotted Sasuke in the doorway. "Hey, Sasuke, you're up! I didn't make too much noise, did I?" He blushed a bit, scratching the bridge of his nose.
The entire living room floor had all their boxes with Christmas decorations already strewn around and Sasuke carefully made his way around them; some of them were opened already, showing off gleaming and glittering baubles and strings of lights peeking through the gaps.
"No, but the bed did feel empty," Sasuke teased him, drawing him close by his hips once he reached him.
Naruto grinned, looping his arms around Sasuke's neck. "Well, now you know how I feel when you leave early in the morning for work," he retorted and rose up on his tiptoes.
He hummed when Sasuke kissed him, pressing himself flush against the dark haired man.
"You ready to start decorating with me?" Naruto asked hopefully, his eyes wide and teeth nibbling at his lower lip when they parted.
As if Sasuke hadn't helped him decorate ever since he had tentatively posed the question three years ago.
As if Sasuke didn't specifically block off days in his schedule so that he could spend time with Naruto doing what he liked: decorating the house until it looked like Santa Clause or Jack O Lantern had barfed all over it.
And he loved every single minute of it. Because it allowed him to see Naruto smile so excitedly, offered him a good look of those shining blue eyes he'd come to adore the very first second he had laid eyes on them.
He didn't care whether that sounded sappy. He was happy if Naruto was happy, simple as that.
Sasuke smiled and kissed Naruto again. "Yeah, let's start decorating."
The End
AN2: I need a Sasuke in my life. Or a Naruto. Or just fluff in general I guess *ponders* Throwing a bit of Christmasish spirit around, eh *throws hands up*
Now I'm off to my other projects, bye! Please leave your thoughts behind in a review; should you spot any mistakes, please point them out to me.
I hope to see you all back in my future stories! Please stay safe and take care of yourselves!
