Author's note: This week has been utter and complete shit. This is so far the only writing I've been able to do and I don't even know whether it's something good. I leave that up to your discretion.
About this story: this takes place in the Greatest Treasure universe, so if you haven't read that two-shot yet, you might want to do that to familiarise yourself with the setting. Also fair warning: don't mess with Kushina.
Warnings: Kushina's pov; set in Greatest Treasure; Alternate universe; established slash; yakuza; torture scene; mentioned character death; mentions of human trafficking and forced prostitution

Lions Have Nothing on Her
Kushina smiled when she noticed who was calling her. "Hey honey," she greeted her son lovingly. "How are you doing? Everything okay with the sanctuary?"
"Everything's fine with both me and the sanctuary," Naruto chuckled. "The cubs who arrived last week are doing much better now."
"I'm glad to hear that," she said and cradled her phone between her cheek and her shoulder as she rolled up her sleeves. "There are four cubs now, right?"
"Yeah, and they're all doing a lot better. I'm not interrupting anything now, am I?" he asked, a bit concerned.
"No, nothing important," she reassured him and opened the first drawer, contemplating the sewing needles and the knitting ones. Hm, which ones should she choose? "You need to talk to me?"
"Yes, erm, I was wondering if you and dad are free tomorrow evening?" he asked and his tone was both nervous yet elated at the same time, which had her pausing in her inspection of the needles.
"We can keep the evening free, yes," she confirmed and raised an eyebrow, holding the phone with her left hand while she selected two sewing needles with her right, placing them gently down on the cabinet. "Why?"
"Well, I kind of want to introduce my boyfriend to you?" Naruto said lightly. "He's free tomorrow evening, so …"
She perked up immediately, excitement bubbling in her. "Oh, are we finally going to meet your mysterious beau?" she asked teasingly. "Guess it's not Neji, huh?"
"No, it's definitely not Neji," he laughed. "Told you, mum, he's not the right one for me."
"Well, it couldn't be his looks you're rejecting him for," she said, tutting her lips. "He's definitely not bad on the eyes."
"My boyfriend looks even more handsome, trust me," he said happily, even a tad smugly. "So, you and dad ready to meet him?"
"Are your dad and I ready to meet the guy who's been making you smile like crazy and looking like you're floating around for weeks now?" she asked amused and after a brief pause selected a knitting needle as well. "Of course we're ready! We can't wait to meet him, honey. You think you can come over by six thirty? I'll prepare dinner."
"Six thirty should be doable, yes," he agreed. "I'll let him know. I can't wait for you to meet him. You're going to love him, I'm sure!"
"I'm sure we will, honey," she smiled. "We'll see the both of you tomorrow evening; I'll let your dad know."
"All right, thanks! Bye, mum!"
"Bye, sweetie," she said and pocketed her phone after he hung up.
She spared a moment to feel excited for tomorrow evening, happy she and her husband would finally get to meet their son's new boyfriend. They had been together for three months so far if she recalled correctly and she had never seen her son so happy before. She hadn't been exaggerating when she'd teased Naruto about how often he'd been walking around with a smile lately. She couldn't wait to meet the man who made her son so happy.
"Now, where were we?" she asked nonchalantly and turned around, holding a sewing needle and a knitting one.
"Deciding how to punish him," Kakashi replied dryly, lounging against the door. He appeared almost lazy, except for the knife glittering faintly as he twirled it deftly between his fingers; his jacket opened to reveal a gun holstered.
"Right, I think I've made my decision," Kushina said lightly; the heels on her boots clacking against the tiled floor when she leisurely made her way over to the bastard. "You know why we brought you here?"
The dark-skinned man stared at her with terror in his black eyes, shaking his head weakly.
Halting right in front of him, she smiled thinly and rested the sharp tip of the knitting needle on his thigh, close to his groin. "No, you don't know why we brought you here or no, you don't want to answer?" she questioned innocently. "Which one is it? I don't know if you don't open your mouth, you know."
"I – I didn't mean – I wasn't planning - " was all that left the guy's mouth; beads of sweat visibly forming along his hairline.
"Kakashi, please refresh his memory. Apparently our guest has trouble remembering what he was planning," she drawled, putting just the slightest bit more pressure on the needle, making dark eyes widen even further.
"Kidomaru has stalked your son for two weeks in the hopes of abducting him and selling him into prostitution," Kakashi said calmly, but his eyes – usually calm and blank – were burning with barely restrained rage. "He is a known human trafficker who has won favours from other clans by selling his victims to them. This time he decided to go for the big price."
"Big price indeed," she murmured, studying the sewing needle. Unbridled rage was quickly building up inside of her, the thought that this piece of shit had tried to harm her son, had tried to abduct him and force him to become a whore making her want to rip him apart until there was not even a scrap left of this vermin.
The fucker needed to die, plain and simple. It didn't matter that he hadn't succeeded; he had sealed his fate the second he had decided to go after her kid.
"I swear, if I had known he was your kid, I would never have -!" He choked, coughing violently when she slammed the side of her hand into his throat.
"See, I'm not going to lie: I'm incredibly pissed off that you dared to go after my son, but get this," she pressed the knitting needle in his throat, making him freeze up, "I would have been pissed off as well even if he hadn't been my kid. I fucking despise cockroaches like you, Kidomaru, fuckers who ruin family's lives all for a tiny bit of profit. How many lives did you ruin, how many families did you tear apart, all because you thought you had the right to take what wasn't yours? You just got the bad luck that this time you were stupid enough to go after my family."
He started trembling, the chair to which he was tied shaking underneath him, when she lowered the knitting needle, only to raise the sewing needle instead.
"On the other hand, I guess at the same time today's your lucky day too," she said cheerfully. "You see, you're lucky you're getting me to deal with you, instead of my husband. Because he would have absolutely slaughtered you for daring to go after our son. Mind, I had half a mind to slaughter you as well, but luckily for you – see, you're being lucky again! – my son just called me with some great news, so I'm in a good mood now."
"Saved by the very person you tried to harm, how's that for irony?" Kakashi remarked and crossed his arms, though the knife remained in view.
"I do love me some irony," Kushina agreed and Kidomaru froze when she grinned at him. "I've got an important dinner to plan so fortunately for you, I won't be taking my time with you today."
"Thank her for her mercy, you piece of shit," Kakashi remarked casually, slipping his gun out of his holster.
"Thank you!" Kidomaru squeaked, his face rapidly paling.
The red haired woman smiled cruelly when she saw a wet spot quickly spreading across the front of his jeans. "For someone who has dealings with so many clans, you really are quite the coward, huh?" she said and he grunted when she snatched his shaggy black hair, pulling his head back in what had to be a very uncomfortable position. She tugged his head even further back to maximise the discomfort, making him strain himself as he tried to lessen the pressure on his neck.
"Now, your first infraction: thinking you could look at my son in that way," she said calmly and without preamble pushed the needle straight into Kidomaru's right eye, pressing it in until she hit the back of his eye socket.
For a couple of seconds he was completely silent as if the needle didn't register at all, but then he started screamed, trying to trash around. She merely tightened her hold even further and pressed against the needle again, watching how the eyeball seemed to tremble around it as if he was trying to move it around. That only caused him to scream even harder; his voice gaining another pitch.
"Already screaming this much? I've only started," she commented calmly and slipping the knitting needle in her pocket for now, she held out her free hand. "Kakashi, be a dear and give me the second sewing needle, would you? I forgot to take that with me."
"Of course," he said smoothly and his footsteps were quiet as he walked over to the cabinet to take the second one. "Here you go."
"Thanks, hon," she said cheerfully and grinned at Kidomaru. "Hey, look up."
Stupidly, he did so and right as his left eye focused on her, she quickly stabbed the second needle through it, pinning that one to the socket as well. Now he was unable to move either eye and he whimpered; his eyelids trying to squint shut but unable to do so. The needles through them reminded her a bit of the butterflies pinned onto a board that she had seen once in a museum. She wondered whether he was still able to see through them or whether she had blinded him already. Ah well, biology had never been her strongest suit.
She reached for the knitting needle next and studied the tip. She'd sharpened the tip last week, so it should do for what she had planned next.
"Second infraction: thinking you could talk about my son like that." She grabbed his lips and promptly stabbed the needle through both lips, ensuring he could no longer open his mouth unless he wanted to tear the flesh apart.
Blood instantly started gushing down, spraying everywhere as he tried to scream again; the sound muffled and whiny. Comparing it to an animal's cry would be an insult to animals, however.
"Yeah, it's no longer fun, huh, trying to sell people?" she said unimpressed.
Tears and snot were starting to mix with the blood and she wrinkled her nose. "Eugh, disgusting. Seriously, you're already this much of a mess? You really wouldn't have lasted even a second with my husband. Pathetic."
"I'd say he didn't last that long with you either," Kakashi murmured and she laughed amused, stepping back.
"No, I guess he didn't. Really, it's difficult nowadays to find someone who can go toe to toe with us," she lamented and retrieved her gun. "Bunch of pathetic pussies, the lot of them. Well, like I said, I have an important dinner to plan, so I'll leave you with one more gift before Kakashi can take over. This is for being such a disgusting piece of shit."
He couldn't even cry out anymore when she shot him in his dick. Honestly, so pathetic.
"So can I assume that you already met his boyfriend?" Kushina pouted, checking on the soup.
Minato had just arrived home and was changing into more comfortable clothes. Their son and his mysterious boyfriend would be here in less than half an hour and she couldn't wait to finally meet the unknown guy.
Especially because Gaara was refusing to tell her anything!
"Of course I met him already," Gaara answered dryly, sipping from his tea. "He has dropped by several times to pick up Naruto from my place."
"Okay, so, why don't you tell us something then?"
"Because Naruto wants to be the one to introduce him officially and I'm not going to take that away from him," he replied patiently.
She turned around to face him and pursed her lips, putting her hands on her hips. "You know, this is just us meeting him, it's not like the guy's going to ask Minato for Naruto's hand in marriage." Her eyes widened then and she gasped. "Wait, is he already?!"
"Of course not." Gaara had the absolute balls to roll his eyes. "But you know how serious Naruto is about introducing his partners to you."
"Yeah, I guess so," she sighed as Minato entered the kitchen. "I'm just curious, you know? I've never seen him so happy before."
"That's because he's never been this happy," Gaara said frankly.
"So we're going to like him?" Minato questioned lightly.
That, for some reason, made Gaara smirk amused. "Oh, I'm sure you will," he hummed, but before Kushina could comment on his strange reaction, he switched topics. "Did you deal with that prick who tried to stalk Naruto?"
"Yeah, yesterday," she replied and checked on the rice. "Couldn't really go all out because Naruto called me about tonight then, but Kakashi assured me he paid the price fully."
"Apparently Kakashi had a lot of pent up anger," Minato remarked idly and crossed his arms. "He got rid of him entirely last night."
"Good, fucker didn't deserve anything else," Gaara said resolutely and stood up, putting his cup in the sink. "I'm going now, Temari still wants to meet up."
"Anything serious?" she asked curiously.
The red haired man shook his head. "Nah, pretty sure she just wants to bitch about her boyfriend again. Think he did something to piss her off this week." He sighed and rolled his eyes. "Whatever, have fun meeting the boyfriend."
"Seriously, what does he know that we don't? Except of course who the boyfriend is," Kushina huffed when Gaara pulled the front door shut behind him. "He looks way too amused about this, don't you think so?"
"I'm going to assume that whatever it is, it's nothing bad at least," Minato replied contemplatively. "We both know how protective he is about our son. If there was something off about the boyfriend, he wouldn't be this amused about it."
"I guess so," she muttered and furrowed her eyebrows.
He pulled her into a hug then and kissed her softly on her mouth. "Naruto's always been good at reading people; I'm sure there's nothing wrong with his boyfriend."
"Yeah, I guess so," she sighed and linked her arms around his waist. "Well, we'll find out soon, I suppose."
Otherwise there was a room she would be more than happy to show to the boyfriend.
They understood very quickly why Gaara had been so amused – and if he wasn't Naruto's best friend, Kushina would track him down just to strangle the little bastard for not warning them.
Because Naruto's boyfriend? Yeah, he belonged to one of the most powerful yakuza clans, second only to theirs. Uchiha Sasuke. Youngest son of Uchiha Fugaku and Uchiha Mikoto, brother to Uchiha Itachi.
The Namikaze and the Uchiha clans didn't have any dealings with each other whatsoever, which was surprising considering how large their respective territories were. They stayed out of each other's way, which suited everybody just fine.
And now their son had decided to date the heir to the entire clan. Fantastic.
"Don't think we don't know who you are," Kushina said in a low voice when Naruto had excused himself to go to the bathroom. She abruptly leant forwards and dropped her friendly smile. "And don't even think about playing dumb, it doesn't suit you."
Sasuke raised an eyebrow and then leant back in his chair, smirking. "I wasn't planning to. That would have been an insult to the both of us," he said smoothly. "I'm guessing you're the mysterious N and his wife then."
"You didn't know before you started dating our son?" Minato asked sceptically. His face was cold and blank now, no longer the cheerful man he usually was.
"How could I have when you make sure to keep your identity a secret?" Sasuke shot back and rested his hands on the table. "I've got my own business to run, I don't waste time trying to date someone from another clan. Especially not when that might mean an enemy might infiltrate in mine."
"Then how do you know?" Kushina asked irritated. It wasn't as if they went around announcing who the head of their clan was. As a matter of fact, only those closest to them knew who N was.
"Naruto was quick to pick up on what I do outside of business hours," Sasuke replied calmly. "When I confronted him about it, he said he was from a clan himself. My father made sure I knew who every clan head is – bar the mysterious N. Seeing as Naruto doesn't belong to any of those clans, well, it wasn't that difficult to figure out in the end."
"If you hurt him in any way I promise you, you won't have to worry about your business hours any longer," she said darkly. "Don't think this is an empty threat either, I will rip you apart."
He raised an eyebrow. "I'm going to assume you're the one who dealt with Kidomaru then?"
Taken aback, she straightened up. "You know about him?"
"Hm, some of my men alerted me about him. When I wanted to track him down to teach him where to keep his hands, however, I found nothing – except for some discarded fingers," he added finely and dark amusement lit up his eyes. "I'm going to assume you found him first?"
"Like hell was I going to let that bastard touch my kid," she huffed and crossed her arms. "You should have been quicker."
"Noted," he said dryly and tilted his head to the left. "Now that we're on the subject: I wanted to propose something."
"Oh? What's that?" Minato asked, raising an eyebrow as he sipped from his wine.
"I want to propose that - "
"You are not going to propose them anything, damn bastard," Naruto cut him off loudly and dropped down heavily into his chair, glaring at the dark haired man. "I told you before, I don't need any!"
"And yet the previous week has shown you need them," Sasuke droned, almost bored save for the dark glimmer in his eyes.
"What does he need?" Minato inquired, narrowing his eyes slightly.
"Nothing, dad, Sasuke's just being an over-"
"A personal guard," Sasuke stated calmly. "While they might not exactly know whose son he is, it is starting to spread that we're dating and there are always going to be idiots who think they can make use of that knowledge."
"I can handle myself just fine," Naruto grumbled and pouted.
"Hm, that's true," Kushina said contemplatively and stared at him. "Why ask us, though? You don't have enough guards of your own?"
"Ma, don't encourage him," Naruto whined, but for once he was ignored by all of them.
"I have enough guards," Sasuke said easily and leant forwards, his eyes glinting, "but I want your help in testing just how faithful they really are."
Kushina shared a look with Minato before they both turned around to look at him again. "Okay, we bite," she admitted. "What do you want us to do?"
"I can't believe you and dad actually agreed to that stupid guard plan," Naruto grumbled annoyed, picking up the second plate to dry it off.
Kushina clucked her tongue and wiped some foam on his nose, making him pull a face at her. "It's not stupid at all, sweetheart. Honestly, I'm glad he came up with this plan." Not only was it a brilliant plan, but it also showed just how much Sasuke cared about her son already.
"But you, dad and him all have ridiculously high standards," he complained.
Tutting her lips, she removed her gloves and cupped his cheeks, squishing them together. Gazing into his eyes – the same colour as Minato's – she said firmly, "It's not ridiculously high when we love you and want to keep you safe. I'd rather have him be this protective than him being a boyfriend who doesn't give a shit about you."
He sighed and turned his eyes to the ceiling. "Fine, but I reserve the right to call a stop to whatever tests you are planning if it becomes too bothersome."
She laughed and pecked his nose. "Darling, I think you've been spending too much time with Shikamaru-kun. You're taking over his vocabulary."
"What do you expect when he keeps whining to me that Temari's pissed at him?" he snorted, grinning.
They returned to the dishes then and she said casually, "Aside from his good plan, you two look really happy together."
"Yeah," the smile appearing on his face was so soft, so smitten that she barely kept herself from cooing aloud, "we are. He's honestly amazing even if he can be annoying about the guards."
"Well, your dad was like that at the start with me as well," she smiled. "Spoiler alert: it doesn't get much better." She stuck out her tongue.
"Eugh, so annoying," Naruto whined, but the smile on his face didn't lie.
Well, she thought as she finished washing the last pan, at least it looks like I won't have to introduce Sasuke to the room any time soon.
