Underdog
Chapter 1: Stray
A certain spiky blonde haired male had been tossed out of the place that he had called home from the day he had been a pup. They had thrown him aside for someone better since he had been considered the runt of the litter. Oceanic blue eyes glittered with unshed tears, knowing that he would have to survive on the streets for now on. It wouldn't be the first time. Hunching his shoulders, he rolled them to release some tension before getting up to his feet. His nine tails swished behind him, the wolf ears atop of his head twitched while flattened due to the rollarcoaster of emotion sweeping over him. What he wore is traditional furs for someone like him. This included a makeshift of furs in the hude of orangey red with some purple thrown in the mix. His feet are bare.
Treading across the stone strewn ground, he had a bag slung over his shoulders that held his meager belongings. Wondering where he would go now, he continued moving along. Going back didn't seem like a viable option. Continuing on his way, he didn't notice that something or someone had been watching him from the shadows. Staggering back a few steps when he somehow ran into a hard chest, he barely managed to regain his footing. About to glare and shout at the person, he stopped. What he saw took his breath away. The other male albeit a bit taller than him had glossy raven hair, onyx eyes that could switch to ruby at an instant, and a body like it' almost sculpted by the gods themselves. What he failed to notice is that the other man has feline features including cat ears, tail, etc.
"Hn, watch where you're going, mutt," said the other male simply, narrowing his eyes slightly at the blonde. "What are you doing out here? SHouldn't you be with your pack?"
"I was thrown out," Naruto begrudgingly admitted.
"Why?" Asked the ravenette in confusion.
"I'm the underdog of the litter. I didn't match up to their expectations," growled Naruto. "Happy now that you know that I'm a screwup?"
"No," admitted the other male, grabbing Naruto's arm. "Come, you're returning home with me. We'll find a place for you. The clan I belong to is pretty much a collection of misfits."
The blonde had no words to say in response to this. Shock washed over him in a torrent, not knowing how to respond to this. He had thought that he'd be on the streets for a long period of time, but here he is being dragged off by some neko. Perhaps, things could turn around for the better for this unfortunate stray puppy. That's what Naruto hoped, but didn't know if anything good would come out of this. Inwardly chastising himself to see the bright side of things, he decided to go along with where the other male is taking him towards. It's better than sleeping out on the streets where there's no telling what could happen to him. It would give a sense of security which he's lacking at the moment inside and out. When they arrived at a large estate, the ravenette took him inside. Closing the door behind them, Naruto took in his new surroundings.
"The others will need to check you out in order to make sure you're right to fit in here," explained the dark haired male. "My name is Sasuke Uchiha in case you didn't know."
"Naruto Uzumaki," introduced the ookami.
"Good to know," said Sasuke, taking him into the living room where a few of the other occupants can be found. "Hey, I'm back."
"About time, hmph," huffed another blonde, eyeing the newcomer suspiciously although his expression then turned to one of surprise. "Naruto?"
"You know me?" Inquired the younger blonde.
"It's Deidara," explained the taller blonde, getting up to approach him. "I'm your brother."
"What?" Blurted out Naruto, his eyes widening in shock. "No one told me about you."
"Heh, that's no surprise, un," admitted Deidara. "Most likely the Alphas didn't want you to know about me. They feared you might team up with me to overthrow them or something. That's why we were separated at birth. I'm glad to finally see you again, hmph. You've grown a lot."
"Stop pestering him, brat," hissed the voice of the redheaded kitsune. "You two can have your inane reunion later. Most likely, the leaders will want to inspect him."
Deidara glared at his mate, "Oh, shush, Danna. I haven't seen him in a long time. Besides, they're still out hunting or whatever, hmph."
"Hmmm, well I see my foolish little brother decided to do something right for once," murmured a smooth voice from a lone chair, causing Sasuke to glare lightly at him. "Will you finally claim someone as your mate? Everyone within our band of misfits are mated if you have somehow forgotten."
"I'm aware of it," said Sasuke with clenched teeth, holding back his urge to pounce on Itachi.
"Heh heh, leave him alone for now," advised a deep voice of a shark man with teal colored hair, sitting beside the obsidian haired neko.
"What the fuck is going on?" Asked a silver haired naga, slithering in with his brunette haired mage following behind him.
"Sasuke found someone," said Itachi simply, turning the page of his book, not looking away from it although Kisame is the only one that knows that Itachi likes to read Icha Icha Paradise aside from other stuff.
"Wait, isn't this Deidara's brat?" Asked Kakuzu, eyeing Naruto carefully.
"Yep," chirped Deidara, hugging Naruto. "Thank Kami we somehow crossed paths again, hmph. Although you're only a year younger than me by now. We definitely have to spend some time together, un."
"That would be great," grinned Naruto.
"Well, well, what do we have here?"
A/N: Yays! Done with chappie one! Hehes, hopefully you all enjoyed it. The next one will be out shortly. I have about seven more chappies of this written out. Then I need to continue this. I promise that I will. So, until next time, please remember to review darlings!
