Gai punched Kakashi in the face, connecting solidly. He was surprised that the punch landed. Sparring usually didn't start this way with them. Generally, Kakashi avoided the first punch, and then Gai could judge how into the fight he was. It was only fun if he was actually invested in it. Sometimes he just seemed to dial it in.
It was just a clone, which disappeared, and Gai looked for his rival. He jumped upward toward a tree, expecting Kakashi to attack from underground. Instead he met a fist coming down from the same tree. It caught him squarely in the jaw, and he saw lights for a few seconds.
He heard Kakashi laughing, and their sparring match suddenly became more serious. "I don't care if you are the cool one! Stop laughing at me!"
"Sorry, sorry," Kakashi said in an offhand way.
Kakashi paid for his arrogant dismissal when Gai struck hard and fast. He had Kakashi on the ground quickly. He had one knee in his back, and he held both of Kakashi's arms behind him.
"Submit," he said.
"You haven't won yet," Kakashi said. He struggled, and Gai slipped so that he was laying on Kakashi. He almost lost his hold, but he managed to wrap both legs around Kakashi's, pinning him down.
"This is a first," Kakashi said.
"I'm so tired of your cool attitude," Gai said. He loved the feeling of his rival finally under him, at his mercy. Kakashi tried to break the hold, and Gai twisted his arm enough to hurt without breaking it.
"Ok. You win!" Kakashi said. "It had to happen sooner or later."
You win. The words were intoxicating. He'd trained so hard, and he'd finally done it. He pressed down on Kakashi more.
"Uh, Gai? What are you doing?"
"Just enjoying my victory," Gai said.
"Do you have a weapon in your pocket?" Kakashi asked.
"No," Gai said. "That's all me. Victory is very satisfying."
"Gross! Get off!" Kakashi said. He laughed, but Gai knew he wasn't making fun of him this time. When he wasn't being snide he had an open, honest laugh that Gai loved.
He rolled off of Kakashi, who looked down at Gai's erection, which his tight green suit did nothing to hide.
"You are so weird. Who gets turned on by sparring?"
"I think we should have a new challenge," Gai said.
"Sure, why not?"
"It's my turn to choose," Gai said. "I set the terms, and you can't refuse, right?"
"This must be a good one. What is it? I'll accept your terms."
"We spar again tomorrow," Gai said. "Winner penetrates the loser."
"Noni?"
"Our challenges don't really have any urgency to them. It simulates battle situations. Whoever loses actually loses something, just like on the field. In real life we're punished if we fail."
"Pun...punished?" Kakashi asked.
"You can forfeit, of course," Gai said, "but it would hardly be worthy of you, and it will cost you four points, as usual for a disgraceful forfeit. We're tied after today, so you'd be 4 points behind me. If you go through with it you'll only be down 1 point."
Kakashi stammered. "You can't be serious," Kakashi said.
"Oh can't I?" Gai asked. "Do you accept or not?"
"I accept," Kakashi said. "Which training field?"
"This one," Gai said.
That night Kakashi brought Sakura and Naruto to the training field, where they placed carefully laid traps.
"Ne, Sensei," it's late," Naruto said. "Why are we doing this?"
"I have a challenge with Gai, and I really don't want to lose this one."
"So we're helping you cheat," Sakura said.
"We're creatively redistributing the odds of success," Kakashi said.
Naruto stopped putting down trap wire. "Huh?"
"You're helping me cheat."
The next morning Kakashi arrived to find Gai already at the field.
"You are late again," Gai said. He smiled, his bright smile somehow a little menacing. "When I win you'll be punished for that."
"That's kind of creepy, Gai." He made the sign to begin combat, used a substitution jutsu, and hid in a tree. It was a standard move, and he knew that after doing it the day before Gai would come straight for him, which is exactly what he wanted. He would move right trough one of his traps coming at him.
He purposely made a small noise, and Gai leapt at him with a look of ferocity that Kakashi found a little disturbing. He's really serious about this, he thought. Gai passed the place where the trap had been set, and kept going.
Kakashi almost reacted quickly enough to avoid the hit, but Gai was on him just a little too fast.
Gai tackled him out of the tree, and while they fell he held his arms around Kakashi's chest, pinning his arms so he couldn't use a jutsu.
Kakashi saw the ground rushing toward him, and he wondered if Gai wanted to kill him. Gai moved so that Kakashi took the hit on his body rather than his head, but he was still stunned, and he couldn't breathe for a few seconds.
When he did, sharp pains shot though his chest.
Gai laughed. "I claim victory." He lay on top of Kakashi, and his erection poked at him again. "I knew you'd cheat, so I came down this morning and removed your traps."
Kakashi coughed and gasped. "Off," he managed to say in a strangled voice.
"No tricks," Gai said. "Admit defeat."
"You win. Get off."
With Gai off he could breathe easier, but the pain remained.
"You broke a rib," he managed. He cough, tasted blood, and felt dizzy. He closes his eyes, just to rest a bit.
Gai looked down as Kakashi coughed up a bit of blood and passed out.
"Kakashi?"
Gai ran to the medic station. When he got back a small crowd had gathered, and Asuma was taking Kakashi's pulse. He made way for the medic and stood back with Gai.
"What happened?" Asuma asked.
"Sparring accident," Gai said. "It might be serious. He coughed up blood and passed out after he said I broke a rib."
Kakashi gained consciousness, and the medic finished working on him. He coughed weakly.
The medic helped him sit up and lean over. "Cough," the medic said. He applied chakra, and Gai watched as the medic pulled the blood out of Kakashi's lungs through his mouth. Kakashi's ragged breathing evened out slowly, and he leaned over almost onto the grass. He sat up and took a deep breath.
"It was a clean break and I mended it. You'll need a couple of days off your feet, but you'll be fine after that. I'll call for a stretcher, and we'll get you to the hospital."
"I'll go home," Kakashi said. "I can rest there."
"I really think that..." the medic began, but Kakashi disappeared in a swirl of leaves.
"Damn arrogant bastard," the medic said. "He does this every time. I hate dealing with him. This makes even more paperwork, and I get gripped out for letting him go."
"I'll go check on him," Asuma said.
"I'll go with you," Gai said.
"What did you do to him?" Asuma asked as they walked.
"Pile drive into the ground," Gai said. "I think I might have gone overboard. I've been angry at him lately, and I guess I let it get to me."
"Let me guess, it was one of your challanges, wasn't it? What was it this time?"
"Winner penetrates the loser," Gai said.
"Errr... wow."
"I just get so angry at how superior he acts," Gai said. "He was talking the other day about the importance of ancestry, telling Naruto that he could be as strong as his father, and that his genetics will help him. He knows enough about me to know better. I'll show him that hard work can beat genetics."
"You've known him since he was a kid. He doesn't mean to be an asshole; he just is. He doesn't think before he talks. He agreed to the terms of the challenge?" Asuma asked.
"He accepted before he knew what they were. He always does that. Do you think I should let him off?"
"No," Asuma said. "He does that sort of thing too often. Plow him hard, and maybe he'll be more considerate in the future. He asked Kurenai last week bow long it takes to lose pregnancy weight, and he actually seem3d surprised when she cried. He needs the bluntness beat out of him."
Kakashi didn't answer the door.
"C'mon," Asuma yelled. "We know you're in there. Don't make us break in."
Kakashi opened the door. He had already stripped down to sweat pants. "What? The medic said to get off my feet. I'm doing it."
"He also said to go to the hospital," Asuma said.
"I don't need to lay in a hospital when I can lay in my own bed."
Gai shouldered his way through the door.
"I'll stay with you for a couple of days," Gai said. "I let our rivalry too far, and I nearly killed you."
"You didn't nearly kill me," Kakashi said.
"You were on the brink of death!"
"I was not on the brink of death. I'm on the brink of boredom. Go away."
"I refuse," Gai said. "I won't leave you alone like this."
"It's a mended rib. It's no big deal. If you're going to stay, come in so I can go take a pain pill and lay down."
"I'll see you later," Asuma said. "Gai. Let me know how this turns out. I'm curious."
Gai followed Kakashi to his bedroom, where he took a pill and lay down with a few grunts of pain as he held his side.
"What do you want?" Kakashi asked. "You'll need to wait until I have a few days to heal before you can claim your victory. I don't think my body could handle it right now."
"I didn't come over for that. I let our rivalry get out of control, and I've had a broken rib before. Just because they mended it and you can move around doesn't mean you should. You could break it again easily. I'm going to stay here a few days."
"That isn't necessary," Kakashi said.
"I need to go home and get a few things. I'll be back."
"Take the key," Kakashi said.
"You trust me with your key?" Gai asked.
"Sure, just don't make a big deal out of it."
Gai clutched the key to his chest and looked toward the heavens. "Truly I am unworthy of such a rival, to trust me like this."
"Gai, your erection is creeping me out."
Gai looked down and adjusted himself. "Sorry, sorry," he said. "I find our rivalry very stimulating."
"I don't know what to say to that," Kakashi said.
"This challenge determiners who breaks the tie," Gai said, "and I find it extremely satisfying to know that I might be 4 points ahead of you if you forfeit, who I set as my high standard to beat."
Kakashi sighed. "So you're still planning on penetrating me?"
"With gusto, my rival! You are too used to winning or losing without consequences, and you've slighted me one too many times. It makes me so angry when you talk about genetics. Hard work can beat good genetics any day."
"I don't know what you're talking about,: Kakashi said.
"No. You never do. You're too cool to come down here on my level, with your famous father and your Hatake clan."
"I don't feel that way," Kakashi said. "You've done great. It isn't your fault your mother was a whore."
"HOW DARE YOU?" Gai roared.
"I mean prostitute. I mean... free spirited lady."
Gai fumed. "I thought I might be wrong about you, Kakashi, but you look down on me. I'll change that soon. I'll be looking down on you, and when I'm inside you you'll have to admit that you've truly lost to me."
"Gai, don't be like this. I didn't mean it how you took it. I just say the wrong things sometimes."
Gai calmed down. "I'll let it go, this time, but don't you ever call my mother a whore again! I mean, she was, but you're not supposed to say it like that."
"Sorry, sorry," Kakashi said. "It won't happen again."
Gai packed an overnight bag, and when he returned Kakashi's pain meds had kicked in, leaving him drugged and enticingly vulnerable.
"You're ok," he drawled. "I don't want you in my ass, but you're ok."
"I guess that's better than nothing," Gai said.
"You're my best friend, did you know that Eyebrows?"
"Why do you have to do that?" Gai asked. "You can't give a compliment without a little jab."
"I have secrets," Kakashi drawled. "You'd know them if I let you."
Gai tried to draw him out, but he mostly got useless gibberish at that point, and a discussion about Tsunade's magnificent breasts.
What secrets would I know, he wondered.
Gai bedded down on the couch that night, and Kakashi didn't wake till morning. He walked to the kitchen holding his side and standing with a stiff, unnatural posture.
He tried to sit, but he stood again, and he ate cereal standing at the sink
"Does the rib hurt when you sit?" Gai asked.
"Yes. Not as badly as yesterday."
"I'm going to train with my team today," Gai said. "Do you need anything?"
"Not really. You don't have to stay here."
"I want to. If you aren't in good health our rivalry means nothing."
That night he returned to find Kakashi in bed reading.
"Did you sleep on the couch last night?" Kakashi asked.
"Yes. You should replace that thing. It's mostly lumps by now."
"I'll get around to it. Why don't you sleep in here tonight? No funny business though."
"I'll wait for that," Gai said.
Kakashi's drug addled dreams were dark that night, and they started in the worst way. He lay on his stomach on his own bed, but his arms were tied, and he felt something pressing at the base of his spine, a long, erect penis rubbing back and forth in his crack.
"I don't want to do this," he said.
"I'll stop any time," Gai said. "All you have to do is say the word "forfeit". You'll never catch up to me after losing so many points, but that's up to you."
Kakashi said nothing.
"I'll take that as a refusal to forfeit," dream Gai said. He pulled his member off Kakashi and Kakashi felt something wet enter his hole. It wiggled around, and even though he'd never admit it, it felt good.
"What are you doing?" he asked. He looked back over his shoulder to see Gai's face pressed against his buttocks.
"What the fuck? Get your tongue out of me! That's disgusting!"
"If you insist," Gai said. "I was going to use it to lube you in there, but I can go in dry." He put his substantial cock against Kakashi's hole.
"That isn't what I meant!" Kakashi said. "Use some lube before you do that."
"You just said I'm disgusting," Gai said. "I'm not feeling generous at the moment."
"That isn't what I said."
"It's always like this with you," Gai said. "You think because you come from a ninja clan you're better than me. Well, you're about to find out differently."
"I don't think I'm better than you. We're about equal. Please, use some lube."
"Arrogant jerk," Gai said.
"I thought you were my friend," Kakashi said.
"As if you're worthy of friends," Gai said. "More people for you to get killed."
"You can't really believe that," Kakashi said. "You've been my friend since we were kids."
"Was I?" Gai asked. "Did you ever treat me like a friend?"
"I thought so."
"I'm tired of talking," Gai said. "Dynamic Entry!"
Kakashi was unprepared for the searing pain as Gai shoved against him. He was invaded by a fullness and a sharp pain. He yelled.
"Why did you scream?" Gai asked. "I only put the tip in."
Kakashi felt when Gai shoved against him, hard enough to jar his entire body and make him see stars.
"Gentler Gai! Are you trying to kill me?"
He felt something wet running down his legs. "Gai. I'm bleeding."
Gai thrust at him again and again, going deeper each time despite Kakashi's screams. Kakashi actually felt Gai's balls against him.
"I'm all in now," Gai said. "How does it feel to know that I own you, bevause you're mine now."
He began to thrust faster, and then he suddenly pulled out.
Kakashi panted with exhaustion from screaming and struggling.
Gai rubbed his shoulder gently. "Get your breath back. I don't want you to pass out."
As soon as Kakashi breathed regularly, Gai pulled back and slammed his entire length inside Kakashi, stabbing him deeply.
"Stop!" Kakashi screamed.
"Do you forfeit?" Gai asked.
"I can't," Kakashi said.
Gai pulled out and slammed into him again, several times. He lifted Kakashi so that his head and feet were on the bed, and his ass was in the air.
Gai stood above him and hammered at him repeatedly. He stopped and pushed Kakashi back down onto his stomach. He pushed a fist against Kakashi's hole, stretching and tearing him further. He forced his fist in and pulled it out.
"This is for calling me Eyebrows!" he said, and he punched him, his fist sinking into the gaping hole he had made of Kakashi's ass.
"This is for always being too cool to admit I might be better at something than you." He punched again.
Sobs escaped Kakashi. "I didn't know," he said. "Stop! It hurts so bad."
"Say you forfeit!" Gai said, punching him again.
"I can't!" Kakashi screamed.
He woke with a start, and when he sat up be saw Gai staring at him. His rib ached, and he lay down again with a groan.
"What just happened?" Gai asked. "You were screaming. Are you ok? Is it the pills?"
"No. Nightmare," Kakashi said. "Gai, we're friends, right?"
"Well, yeah. I get pissed at you sometimes, but you're my only friend."
"I just had the worst dream," Kakashi said. "This whole challenge is messing with my head. Can we change the terms somehow? I don't want anyone inside me."
"I would, except that I'm still hurt by things you said to me," Gai said.
"I'm sorry for all of them," Kakashi said. "I was only teasing you."
"You can forfeit," Gai said.
"No. I can't."
"Then the prize stays as it is. You made me run around Konoha wearing nothing but lunchmeat once. I got a rash. It's only fair."
"Look, let's just do this now," Kakashi said. "Waiting for it is worse than the actual thing, probably. Even with a bad rib I'd rather get it over with."
"Is the thought of being with me really that disgusting to you?" Gai asked sadly.
"No. I've just never done this, and now you're going to demolish my ass."
"I never said that," Gai said. "I was joking about the punishment. Have you ever known me to be the kind of person who would cause unnecessary pain? Why don't you just forfeit?"
"I can't."
"Why?"
"Because if you get that far ahead of me we won't be rivals anymore, and I need you that way."
"You need me?" Gai asked.
"I would have thought that was obvious," Kakashi said.
"And yet the thought of being with me disgusts you."
"I didn't say that. I mean... I've considered, but, you're big."
"Is that the only reason?" Gai asked," because you didn't mind me blowing you after the Christmas party, and you liked my finger in your ass while I did it."
"I was drunk, and you were willing. And it felt good."
"Then what's the problem?"
"I lied about not doing it before. A few years ago on a mission I let a guy do me in exchange for information. I hated it. He hurt me badly enough that I had to see a proctologist. Tied me up, did me dry, and fisted me. Tore me open. I was just dreaming it was you doing that."
"I'd never do anything like that to you. I wanted to make you like it so you'd want it again. I want to hold you down and teach you to respect me, but I don't want to rape you."
"I thought you wanted to punish me."
"I told you that was a joke. I was angry before, but I don't want to hurt you, not unless you turn out to enjoy that."
"I guess we can try," Kakashi said.
"I didn't know you were dealing with that sort of baggage. Just ask for a forfeit. I won't think less of you."
"If I do then you'll find another rival," Kakashi said.
"Well, yes, but we'll still be friends."
"It won't be the sane," Kakashi said. "Since we were children we've never been more than 1 point apart."
"You're worrying too much about this," Gai said. "Nothing is going to happen until your rib is healed. Go back to sleep."
"I think I'm causing more problems than I am helping," Gai said. "I should probably go."
Kakashi managed to avoid Gai for almost a week, but he couldn't put it off forever. On the first of the month they always met for lunch, and he nervously approached Ichiraku's, where Gai was waiting.
"Late again!" Gai said.
"I got lost on the road of life."
As they ate and chatted he relaxed. After all, this was just Gai, right? Good old reliable guy who would never do him dry and fist him against his will.
"Do you want to spar later?" Kakashi asked.
"I have plans with Asuma tonight. We're working on our training at field 5. You can join us."
"You and Asuma, huh?" Kakashi asked. That didn't take long. "I'll pass. You two have been working together a lot lately."
"You haven't really been available, and I haven't worked much with wind jutsu users."
"I see," Kakashi said. "Asuma is strong." He isn't stronger than me, but he's available. Have you given him any challenges yet?"
"Noni?"
"He is replacing me, isn't he?"
"It isn't like that," Gai said. "I need someone to work with until you're ready."
"My rib is fine now," Kakashi said. "The medic did a good job, and the mending jutsu worked properly."
"We could spar tomorrow night," Gai said.
"But we can't do another challenge until the last one is finished," Kakashi said.
Gai leaned back from the table and sighed loudly. "I wish I'd never made that challenge."
"So do I, but it's there now, and I accepted the terms. I've been thinking about it a lot."
"So have I," Gai said.
"Probably for different reasons. I decided I can't take a forfeit. Our friendship is too important to me, and besides, I trust you."
"Our friendship can survive the loss of our rivalry," Gai said.
"Can it?" Kakashi asked.
"I think so," Gai said. "It's been so long since I haven't thought of you that way that it's hard to imagine."
"If you're free tomorrow night..." Kakashi said.
Gai grinned. "That's my rival! Always ready to face a challenge head on!"
"I trust you," Kakashi said, "and to be quite honest before he became violent it felt good."
"Did it?" Gai asked.
"Yes. I was surprised at that."
"You told me before that you'd considered being with a man," Gai said.
"I'd considered being with you. I guess I consider our rivalry stimulating as well."
"Tomorrow night it is then!" Gai said.
Kakashi wished he had someone to talk to, but the nearest he had to a friend he could confide in was represented by the memorial stone, so he went there and brooded.
He saw Kurenai on the way home, and gracious lady that she was, she had forgiven him completely. He relaxed in her gentle presence.
"I wanted to apologize for what I said last week," he said. "It's been brought to my attention lately that I can be insensitive."
She smiled and forgave him, of course, but he wasn't sure he felt better. As he walked home he wondered, how many people have I hurt that way?
He and Anko were cross with each other occasionally, but she gave as good as she got, and neither of them held it against each other. He'd never spoken harshly to Sakura or Naruto unless they were being dense during training or missions.
Kakashi realized two things. He didn't have anyone else he was close too, and that Gai was the only person he intentionally baited. Why?
He thought about the times he'd teased Gai. He'd always enjoyed seeing Gai flustered, but he didn't know why. After he teased him, Gai always fought harder, and smarter. Maybe that's why.
He put off going to Gai's the next night, and he tried to tame his hair a bit, to no avail.
It's just Gai. I shouldn't be nervous.
But Gai was big, and excitable, enthusiastic about whatever he did.
He was glad Gai didn't rush things when he got there. Somehow he'd imagined a quick transition to the bedroom and then awkward sex, but instead they talked, and Gai showed him a new kunai with s hidden chamber.
Gai offered him some sake. "I know it's your drink of choice. I thought it might make things easier for you."
Kakashi let the burn of the same pass before he answered. "I wondered when you'd get to that."
"I wanted to let you relax first. You seem very tense, and that's going to hurt if you can't relax your muscles later. I want you to tell me you want this before you get drunk. I'll stop if you tell me too."
"I'm ready," Kakashi said. "Just, go easy, ok?" He had two more shots of sake.
He'd never felt uncomfortable undressing in front of Gai, but tonight was awkward, especially since as soon as his boxers dropped Kakashi saw that Gai was fully erect. He was long, and had a lot of girth, and just thinking about what they were about to do made his sphincter tighten a little.
Gai sat on the bed with his back against the headboard, and Kakashi did the same, wondering what his plan was.
"Do you have s good buzz yet?" Gai asked.
"Not really."
"Have a few more shots then. I can wait."
Kakashi threw back three more shots quickly.
"Not too much," Gai said. "I want you to experience this completely. By the time we're finished you'll want this again if I do it right. I got some lube with a muscle relaxer in it to help with the pain."
Kakashi's world seemed s little fuzzy, pleasantly floating and definitely less tense.
"Ok, you look a little buzzed," Gai said.
Kakashi smiled, and Gai wondered if the blush on his cheeks was from alcohol or embarrassment. Possibly both. He didn't get to see Kakashi without the mask often, and the difference was enough to be shocking.
With the uniform and mask on Kakashi looked formidable, but his face without the mask was too handsome to be intimidating. He looked so vulnerable, so enticing.
Gai straddled him and kissed him, running his hand through white hair and tasting the sake on his breath.
Remembering the Christmas party Gai slid Kakashi's member into his mouth. He knew he liked that. He remembered something else he liked, and slipping a bit of lube onto his finger he slid it under Kakashi and into his ass wiggling around slightly just as he had at the party.
When Kakashi lifted his hips to accept him more easily Gai thought he might be ready.
Gai slipped two fingers in hoping that Kakashi wouldn't tense up. Kakashi was hard now. In fact he was harder than Gai remember him being at the Christmas party.
"Are you ready?" Gai asked.
"I think so," Kakashi said. "Let's do this."
Guy continued stretching his asshole with his fingers. "You know I wanted this for a long time."
"Yeah I kind of suspected that. I have wondered, but I didn't know how to ask and I didn't know if I should."
"Roll over," Gai said.
He still felt nervous, but when something very hard pressed against his hole he didn't mind. He actually felt excited for the first time. He felt the head slip in easily.
"Are you ok?" Gai asked. He masturbated Kakashi while he talked. "Is the muscle relaxer working?"
"It didn't hurt," Kakashi said. "Do it."
Gai filled him completely and Kakashi felt satisfaction and happiness he hadn't expected. As Gai pulled out Kakashi savored the feeling, and he even enjoyed Gai thrusting into him faster.
He came too soon in Gai's hand, and Gai chuckled. "I guess you changed your mind?" He came inside Kakashi, holding his hips and pushing against him.
"That was good," Kakashi said. They lay together, with Gai holding Kakashi.
"So good," Kakashi mumbled as he fell asleep.
Gai couldn't sleep. he didn't want to give up any of this. He didn't lose any of his precious time with Kakashi
When Kakashi woke he turned to Gai, who kissed him.
"I don't know why it took so long for us to do this but I think I have my next challenge for you. I challenge you to do it again."
Gai laughed. "That's a challenge I'm pretty sure I can win."
