A Cute and quick gender-bender family fic. ^.^
Ok this is slight AU were Iruka is a girl and so are Garra and Naruto, plus they are twins!!! (I didn't put this story in the AU catagory, because i didn't feel it diviated from the story line that much to title it a complete AU. Even though it does include gender swaping)
Summary; Konohagakure's in need of a makeover.
Constructive criticism is always appreciated but, please no flames. Remember to play nice. ** waggles finger**
And I hope everyone enjoys my moment of literary insanity.
I do not own Naruto nor do I made a profit from writing fan-fiction.

Iruka grounded her teeth and fought the urge to curse out the high council.
She was tried and hungry and plenty pissed off that she had to spend her free weekend afternoon listening to some arrogant old puff bags criticizes how she was raising her children.
Iruka fought a sighed and gave an encouraging smile to the two 6 year olds that we're currently hiding behind her legs and clinging to her nightgown as though their lives depended on it.
This was utterly ridicules! Iruka had been dragged out of her home in the early morning still wearing her nighty,an apron, and fuzzy slippers. Just to stand in the intimidating council room for hours on end with a posture of meek summation (which was really hurting her neck and back) while her babies hadn't even had breakfast yet and for what!
Because her babies had found a box of colored calk and had decided to color the sidewalk in front of their house and a few city walls to make it look pretty? They were kids! But they weren't just being charged with defacing public property and vandalism. No, they were accused of committing terrorism acts against Konoha! The ridicules list just went on and on.
It was stupid, petty and spiteful. And Iruka had to fight with every fiber of her being not to start screaming at the old fools that a few sunny skies and happy faces didn't equal a terrorism act!
If they had been any other family or an other clan the high council wouldn't even had batted an eyelash. Iruka would have given her twins a stern lecture about respecting public property and would have had the two babes clean up their mess/art. But no, since they were the now (the just starting out) Hatake clan the council was all over them.
It had taken the Hokage almost four hours to figure out what council had done and to cut through all the bureaucratic red tape to get the Hatakes out of the high council clutches for which the scared nosed Chunnin was thankful. If she had had to go through another two hours of listening to those ignorant asses go on and on about her family or as they lik to called them 'demons'. Konoha would have been minus a few council members and plus a few missing nins.
Iruka finally let out big sigh as she led her two children down the busy city Konoha streets ignoring the strange looks she got for walking down street is broad daylight with her two 'demon' children while still wearing nothing more then an apron, her lacy blue night gown (that Kakashi had bought her) and her fuzzy bedroom slippers. She truely wanted to scream and maim those idiot but right now all that mattered was to get her babies home.
Naruto the oldest (by 16 minutes) was holding onto her hand stubbornly fighting a trembling bottom lip while glaring down at her sandals. While Gaara clutched her bigger hand in her two smaller ones and stayed as close to her body as humanly possible. Both of them had stern looks on their faces trying to hide their fear and embarrassment.
Damn council. Ever since Kakashi had decided to court her they had been breathing down her neck trying to make her life miserable. But ever since they got married and had decided to adopt Kakashi's late sensei's twin daughters they were doing their best to make their lives a living hell, add the fact that the two babies were Jinchuuriki and the whole fucking village was having a field day.
Even after four years Iruka still couldn't rap her head around it. How a village could blame two innocent little children for the attack against their village so many years ago. At the time the two had been infants barely a few minutes old. It wasn't their fault that their father, a great but very fool hearted shinobi had sacraficed himself to seal the demon beast Shukaku and Kyuubi into his two infant daughters expecting his village to embrace them as their heroes.
Iruka clenched her teeth and fought the urge the punch the wall, sometimes she really wish she could curse out the old kind hearted fool for putting such a heavy burden on the two.
Twin tummy growls of hunger interrupted Iruka's inner rant as looked down at her two trouble makers. In her inner fury she had forgotten that none of them had eaten breakfast that morning.
Iruka smiled and gentle swung her arms. "Who feels like getting some ramen for lunch?" Iruka wanted to laugh they had as they practically drag their mother over to the familiar ramen stand.
Iruka couldn't help but laugh and giggle and get caught up in the child like excitement as her girls cheered about their ramen treat. Iruka splurged and order six takeout bowls, even though they were all hungry, Iruka just wanted to be in the comfort of her own home and with her lazy excuse for a husband away on a mission. There would be no disapproving eyes watching as she and her babies had their ramen fix.
Finally home and in comfy clothing the Hatake family sat down and started enthusiastically slurping down their noodles with out the hindrance of the knowing gray eye of the silver haired Heath-nut.
Iruka was so into her forbidden treat that she almost didn't notice that neither the red head nor the blond had touch their second bowl.
"Ok, what's the matter you two? Usually by now both of you are eyeing my bowl."
Gaara scrunched down into her chair a mumbled. "Are you mad at us, like the council people, for being monsters?" she asked as she played with the end of her braid.
Iruka felt as though she had been punched in the gut her kids thought-
Naruto stood up and huff. "It's their fault!" Naruto nearly shouted. Her two pig tails flying wildly back and forth. "We tried being good monsters! Doing nice things for other people but we always get in trouble, even if it isn't our fault!"
"Is that why you guys drew all over those walls? Trying to do something nice." Iruka asked as she tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear.
Gaara silently nodded while Naruto pouted her lips and crossed her arms. "We just wanted to make something pretty so people would have something nice to look at, and wouldn't think we're such bad monsters."
" I see." Iruka smiled and opened her arms as expected she was quickly squeezed by four tiny arms that clinged to her almost desperately. "Even though you both did what you did with good intentions it was still wrong for two reasons. One, Those building weren't yours to draw on."
Gaara looked up confused. "But those building don't belong to anyone, they're empty." "Just because they're abandon doesn't give you the right mess with them."
"Abandon?"
"Empty."
"Oh." Gaara looked down Shamed face.
"Wait, wait you said two reasons. What's the other one?" Naruto asked clearly confused.
"Am very glad you asked that Naruto." Iruka smile as stood up and walked towards the hall closet. Positive her curious duckies would follow. "What is the one of the most important rules of being a ninja?"
"Protect your village and your team." Gaara said
"See your mission through." Naruto finished for her excitedly.
"Yes very, very, good but you forgot a very important one." Iruka as she pulled out an old heavy trunk and opened it.
"Which one?" Naruto asked always curious.
Iruka gave a deadly smile as she twirled a kanji brush in her hand. "Don't get caught." she said as she showed them her left over goodies from her pranking days. Konohagakure was in need of a make over anyway.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kakashi hid a yawn under his mask as he walked towards Konoha city gates. He was exhausted three weeks on a crappy Anbu mission. Sleeping on hard tree branches, and eating nothing but bugs, roots and stray lizards because it was to risky to make a fire would take its toll on any man.
Kakashi stretched and cracked his neck. Oh well, at least it was over. The daimyo's daughter had be returned safe and sound and her kidnappers were given a slow and painful death. Now all Kakashi wanted was a hot bath, a hot meal, and his hot dolphin( preferably dressed in one of the nighties he was so fond of buying her.).
Kakashi smiled and started plotting. He could probably get Gai to watch the Gaara and Naruto for a few hours. Kakashi thought with a lecherous grin.
"Hey boss, I can smell the girls." Pakkun said as he rested on Kakshi shoulders.
Kakashi turned his nose up and sniffed. Cookies, candy and sand (Gaara). Ramen, grass, and dirt (Naruto). Books, kunai, and warm lavender scented skin. (Iruka)
Yup, those were his girls.
Kakashi smiled and picked up his pace.
He was one lucky bastard. He had two beautiful, healthily daughters and he was married to the love his life. And the tale of their near tragic romance was still the number one best seller in the whole Icha Icha series six years running! (He had spent three months sleeping in the nursery with two every colicky babies before Iruka forgave him, but it had been worth it.) He thought were a most gooey love smile in existent.
He council had been furious with him when he had presented his intentions to court her. None of them could understand why the infamous Hatake Kakashi would choose such a plain (some what homely), flat chested, barren girl as his wife. He was Hatake Kakashi! Master of a thousand Justus, the famous copycat nin of Konohana, the last member of the famous Hatake clan, possessor of the famous white chakra, and he had decided that his chosen mate would be a girl that was as infertile.
But they just didn't we what he saw, to him she was also the most beautiful, amazing, passionate, and patient woman in the world! When they met she didn't fawn, or giggle, or just throw herself at him, like all the others. She had just politely introduced herself and then proceeded to lecture him on the importances of keeping appointments and how to present a proper mission report.
She had completely fascinated him.
He hadn't been afraid to put him his place when he acted like a fool, or yell at him for public indecency when he started to read out loud from one of his book to a group of her students, or to pummel him when he had slapped her ass in the mission room.
Nor did she tease him about Obito. When she had found him sitting at the memorial she had just simply introduce herself to his friend and thanked him for his sacrifice, then reminded Kakashi of his appointments with the hokage and sat by his side silently for hours until the sun had faded away the the moon and stars lit up the sky.
He was in love and he had no intention to lose it. He had fought trough hell and back it have her. Taking the worst missions (that had left him more dead then alive), the hardest political jabs (threatening to remove his status and his family wealth), and anything else the council threw at him.
But it had all be worth it to see her blushing face on their wedding day. To share his tears of sadness with her when his sensei had died, and to feel the warm of her happiness wash over him when she had held the twins in her arms and promised she would love them forever and guide them as a mother should.
Yes he was one lucky man. There was never a dull moment with his Iruka.
"Uh, boss. I think you better see this."
Kakashi sighed as he shook himself out of his daydream and looked toward Konohagakure.
'Never a dull moment indeed.' Kakashi thought as he felt his mask tug on his face as he smile. as he looked at his beloved village. there were suns, moons and stars painted on every door, along with cookies and ramen cups drawn on the sidewalk along with smiley face, faces with their tongue sticking out, flowers and rainbows drawn on the walls, and Iruka's trademark missing nin mooning the council building. Not to mention the splashes of color on every roof or how the hokage tower now looked like a giant candy cane.
"What did the girls get themselves into?' Pakun questioned as he stared at the choas in front of him.
"Don't know," Kakashi answered as he made the seals to call the rest of the pack. "But it would be wrong to let them have all the fun." Kakashi said smiling as he proceeded to cover all their paws with sealing ink.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The next morning Iruka drifted awaked until she found herself trap between two strong arms along with two tiny bodies pressed up against her stomach, while a small army of nin dogs crowded around her. She smiled to herself, Kakashi always had the bad habit of sneaking the girls into their bed ever since they were babies. She dreaded the day the girls finally hit puberty and wanted to shave their legs and to date boys. It was going to break is heart, and he was probably going to start breaking the skulls of whoever dared to get near his babies.
As she started to carefully maneuvered herself out of the bed as to not disturb the other ten sleeping occupants on the bed. she heard the first of the horrified cries of the village occupants screaming about the defacement of their beloved city. Of how and why there was so much graffiti, and who in their right mind would cover the walls in dog prints with sealing ink? It would never wash out! And was that a picture of a man mooning he counsel? Why where ramen cups painted everywhere, and where had all those damn scarecrows come from?!
Iruka smiled grew as she settled back down and gently kissed Kakashi on his shoulder, there was no need to rush to get up and make breakfast, as a matter of fact they should go out to eat and celebrate that Kakashi was home and bask in the chaos they created.
Iruka continued to smile as she cuddle her babies and her husband close as she drifted back to sleep. If Konohagakure wanted monsters, they would give them monsters. A family of good little monsters that drew smily faces, ramen cup, and cookies and that put up scarecrows to makes everyones day a bit brighter. And if thy didn't like it tough, they were a family of good little monsters and they weren't going anywhere.
