• The house was oddly silent as Shino Aburame slipped into it. Normally his boyfriend, Naruto Uzumaki, was home by now and was playing some god awful Christmas music, singing along with it at the top of his lungs. But it was oddly silent in the house. He shrugged his coat and hung it by the door. There was a faint light coming from the living room. Maybe the blond had fallen asleep while he was grading papers. It wouldn’t be the first, nor would it be the last time. The Aburame toed his shoes off and walked to the living room.
  
  
  
  The sight that greeted him wasn’t one he was expecting. Naruto was on the floor, tangled in Christmas lights and garland. He was struggling to remove the strands from his body, but he wasn’t quite getting it right. Shino chuckled softly as the blond cursed, rolling around, the light bulbs cracking under his body.
  
  
  
  Shino eventually took pity on the blond and walked over to him and knelt beside him. When Naruto rolled over, he blinked in confusion at the man hovering over him. Then a smile crossed his lips as he forgot about his current dilemma. He tried to sit up, but the restrictive strands wouldn’t let him. The blond looked at Shino with an expression of helplessness. “Please?”
  
  
  
  “I don’t know.” Shino said slyly as he sat down completely.
  
  
  
  “Please?” Naruto asked with huge tear filled eyes. “I’ve been stuck like this for an hour!”
  
  
  
  “And what will my payment be if I do help?” Shino purred as he ran a hand down Naruto’s side.
  
  
  
  The blond shivered under the light touch. “Anything you want.”
  
  
  
  Shino smirked as he began to untangle his boyfriend. The Christmas lights were ruined now, but they could be replaced easily enough. It took him a good ten minutes to untangle Naruto and Shino had to wonder how in the world the blond had gotten himself so tangled.
  
  
  
  Naruto tackled Shino to the floor as soon as he was free. He kissed his boyfriend on his cheek multiple times to show his gratitude. Shino squinted his eyes, but allowed Naruto his fun. A smile graced his lips as the blond pulled away. He stared up into sparkling blue eyes.
  
  
  
  “I’m glad you’re home! You can help me with the tree!” Naruto said brightly as he pulled away from the other man.
  
  
  
  Shino raised an eyebrow. “But you said that I could have anything I wanted if I helped you out of that mess.”
  
  
  
  Naruto’s laughter filled the room. “I suppose I did say that,“ the blond said coyly, tapping his cheek. “So request away!”
  
  
  
  Shino pulled himself up and sat on the floor in front of his boyfriend. He didn’t say anything as he pulled something small from his pocket. He held the small box up to Naruto and opened it. The blond stared in shock as the plain white gold band. “I want you forever.”
  
  
  
  Naruto began to cry in joy and once again tackled Shino, whispering “yes.”
