Sasuke Uchiha stared down at the gift box in suspicion. A gift from Naruto Uzumaki always ended in disaster and he wondered if it was safe to open in front of his family. While his boyfriend of five years should have known better than to give him gag gifts in front of his family, it never stopped the blond. He only wondered what in the world the moron decided to give him this time.

The Uchiha turned dark eyes to his boyfriend and sent him a questioning glance, ‘is it safe to open?’ The blond had read the glance and only smiled in returned, signaling that yes it was safe. Sasuke turned his gaze back to the present and really wondered if it was. The wrapping paper alone was suspicious since it was all glittery and girly. But he also knew that Naruto didn’t pick out his own wrapping paper. He tended to get whatever was left on the shelves two days before Christmas. His philosophy being that if you wrapped a present then nosy people would find it easily before December twenty-fifth.

“Go on Sasuke! It’s not gonna bite you!” Naruto encouraged as he scooted closer to his boyfriend.

Sasuke didn’t say anything as he hesitantly flipped the gift box over and started to pull the tape from the sides. When he had done that, he pulled the paper off. He wasn’t two years old anymore where he would just tear at the paper. He flipped the box over after he put the wrapping paper in the trash bag near his feet. He could feel the heavy gazes of his family on him as he slowly separated the top of the box from the bottom. He set the top to the side and glared at the copious amounts of pink tissue paper, hiding whatever was in the bottom of the gift box.

He hesitantly started to pull the tissue paper out of the box, discarding it with the top of it. As the paper began to dwindle, he could make out something black in the box. He felt Naruto scoot even closer to him, peering over his shoulder and down into the box. There was a gasp of surprise as the blond tried to take the box from him, but Sasuke was able to pull it out of the other’s grasp.

“What do you think you’re doing?” Sasuke hissed as he kept the present out of reach.

“Umm you might not want to open that.” Naruto said sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his head.

The Uchiha raised a black eyebrow. “It’s my present and I will open it.”

Naruto went to say something else but Sasuke cut him off as he removed the last of the pink tissue paper and pulled his present out. As Sasuke took in the present he began to turn a bright red. The moron had gotten him sexy lingerie and he had opened it in front of his family. Sasuke quickly pushed the lingerie back into the box and shoved it at Naruto.

He couldn’t believe that the moron would give him that kind of present in front of his parents and brother. The youngest Uchiha didn’t say anything as he got up and left the room humiliated. There was no way that his father would let him take over the company now. All his hard work had gone down the drain because Naruto just had to get him a stupid gift like that.

He was so mad at the other man right now that he knew that he wouldn’t be able to talk to him like a rational person. So Sasuke went out onto the front porch and watched the snow fall. It was a beautiful sight on the trees and the untouched snow on the ground glittered from the lamps that lined the driveway. He could feel the cold start to seep into his skin, but he didn’t care.

Sasuke heard the door open behind him and he sighed. He should have known that Naruto would follow him. He didn’t say anything as the other man stood beside him, looking out over the snow. “You know, that wasn’t your gift actually. It was Hinata’s.”

Sasuke almost couldn’t believe his ears. He turned to Naruto and gave him a glare when he noticed the box that the blond had in his hand. “Really? Is that the excuse you gave my parents?”

“It’s not an excuse!” Naruto said loudly. “It’s the truth! Look!” The blond said as he put the box on the railing and pulled the offending garment out of the box. The blond was now holding the top of the sexy lingerie, but Sasuke noticed right away that was it was too big for his chest. Hinata was a chesty girl and he knew that the blond was telling the truth.

“So why did you have Hinata’s gift?” Sasuke asked as Naruto put the top away.

“Kiba didn’t want her to find it, so he kept it at my place. I wrapped your gifts in the same paper and didn’t label them.” Naruto said as he pulled Sasuke closer to him.

“Then where is my gift moron?” Sasuke asked as he leaned into the other man. Naruto was a human furnace and the Uchiha always found an excuse to get close to that furnace.

Naruto didn’t say anything as he dug around in his pants pocket for something. He grinned when he pulled out a small box. “I had to go through the other presents and tear yours open so I could get this. It’s not what I had planned, but it’ll work.”

Sasuke stared at Naruto as the blond pulled away and faced him. The snow was gently falling on the blond, but he ignored it. His blue eyes were sparkling with love and mischief. “Sasuke, I think it’s time we get married.”

The Uchiha couldn’t help the glare that he sent at Naruto as the blond thrust the box into his hand. Of course the moron wouldn’t propose like a regular person. He would just demand what he wanted. Sasuke opened the small velvet box and perched in it were two rings. They were identical, but instead of the traditional diamond there were two different stones in the center of each ring, a ruby and a sapphire. They were set in thick bands of white gold.

“Moron, if you’re gonna propose do it right.” Sasuke said as he closed the box and handed it back to Naruto.

The blond grinned as he took the box and got down on one knee. “I’m not giving you a big spiel. Sasuke will you marry me?”

Sasuke smiled as he took the ring with the ruby from the box and put it on his finger. “Of course moron.”

Naruto smiled back, rose from his knees and leaned in to kiss Sasuke. Their lips met in a soft kiss. There was a flash of a camera and both men looked to the door where Mikoto was smiling with a camera in her hand. She didn’t say anything as she went back into the house. Both men knew went back into the house so they could share the news, Hinata’s gift forgotten on the railing.
