The city lights shone brightly in the busy downtown area of Konoha as many of the people were out walking the streets, partying, drinking... It was Saturday night after all. Some though, were not having such a very good night as a figure made his way slowly through the crowded streets. His dark hair, almost having a hint of blue to it in some light, framing his face as a scowl was evident. Sasuke Uchiha was not happy.

The day had started out fine, normal even. He had gotten up and done nothing... perfect. But then of course, like every other major incident in his life, his father called him into his home office. But he had become immune to the man’s words after a while and now was completely indifferent to them. Most of what Fugaku had to say recently wasn’t very important to Sasuke anyway.

What was said in that room earlier that day though, caused the youngest Uchiha to do something he hadn’t done since he was twelve. He threw a tantrum. He first yelled at his father, disagreeing with the man’s words and demanding his father undo what he had done. Of course Fugaku refused, why would Sasuke ever think he could change the man’s mind? After he pretty much destroyed the CEO’s office, Sasuke had stormed out, not really knowing what to do with himself. He had ended up just walking the city of Konoha. Their house was more or less in the suburbs so he had been walking for quite a while until he had found himself Downtown.

He didn’t want to do it, he didn’t want to get married... His father was an idiot and the girl’s parents, whoever the girl was... Sakura or something stupid like that, were no better. He had no doubt that girl would be annoying, all girls were, well, except when he had them in bed... that was a different story. But an arranged marriage? Who even had arranged marriages anymore...?

Sighing in defeat, Sasuke looked around, spotting a number of bars and was suddenly really in the mood to get drunk and forget all about his situation for a while. A bright blue sign caught his eye and he headed for the establishment, entering the surprisingly quiet bar and taking a seat directly at the long table.

A blonde glanced up from where she was leaning over the counter flipping through the pages of a magazine as she heard the chime above the door signal a customer’s arrival. Her big blue eyes, framed perfectly with dark eyeliner, lit up as she spied the good looking, and obviously wealthy man. While he was obviously handsome, there was something… almost sad about him. It was made of dark wood, almost black – the same as all the wooden trims and tables. All the fabric was done in rich tones of blue; it had a comfortable, yet modern feel to it. But Rasengan was a new bar, and didn’t have a good customer base yet.

“Welcome to Rasengan,” the girl smiled. “Am I glad you’re here. It’s been quiet all night... What can I get for you?”

Looking up at the voice, Sasuke paused for a moment as his eyes were almost blinded by brilliant blue. He was staring at the most beautiful eyes he had ever seen... Realizing he had been just staring for a while, Sasuke cleared his throat and looked at the variety of drinks behind the girl.

“You do look young,” Naruko mused, a small smile on her face. “But, then, you are young. I have to admit, I pegged you as being older. I think it’s the aura you have… it just makes you seem older.” She shrugged. “I’m twenty and I get mistaken for a teen all the time. It gets kind of annoying, but I guess it’s a good thing, to be considered younger than you are.”

“Twenty huh? Let me ask you then... how is it that you own that bar? I’m guessing it has something to do with daddy?” Sasuke wasn’t trying to be an ass but he was actually curious to know how Naruko, a twenty year old girl could own a bar when the legal age to own such an establishment was twenty one?

“Well… it’s under my father’s name until I turn 21, but as soon as I do, he’s going to sign it over to me.” She didn’t want Sasuke to think she was a spoiled brat, because she was working so hard to make the bar successful. “Like I said, I’ve already started paying off my loan on it. My birthday is next month, so it will legally be mine then.”

Sasuke nodded, resting his arm against the rest on the door. “It’s great that you’ve found something you truly love to do. Most people don’t find that out until much later in life... and through another round of education...”

“I know…” Naruko smiled, one of her hands leaving the steering wheel to perch on Sasuke’s knee. “If only I could make it work… I probably should have gone back to school or something, but… I wanted to get started with my life, you know? Make my own life, apart from my father. I live on my own, and I’m happy being independent. It does get a bit lonely, though.”

She smiled sadly as one of her nails traced patterns over the raven’s pants. “But maybe that’ll change…” Her eyes widened after a moment and she shook her head. “I feel like I’m putting too much pressure on you, Sasuke. I don’t want to try and make you be with me. I know clingy girls are annoying and I don’t want to be that way. I just feel a connection with you and I’ve never felt it before…”

“Naruko... I feel the same way but... I just don’t know what’s going to happen I’m.. well...” He wasn’t sure if he should tell the woman what was going on in his life, maybe he should, it would help her understand a little bit more... “My father is trying to merge his business with another major coreration and for some reason they feel that the best way to bring the companies ‘closer’ is to... god damn it I don’t want to say it... If I say it then I’m just succumbing to it...”

“To what?” Naruko frowned, not liking how flustered Sasuke was getting. She could tell he wasn’t one to get flustered easily, which meant it was something big. Something she probably didn’t want to hear, knowing it would probably ruin her chances of being with him. “You don’t have to tell me if you’re uncomfortable. You can tell me whenever you’re ready…”

“No, I want to tell you now... I want to be honest with you from the start...” Sasuke prepared himself for the worst kind of rejection. What girl would want to be with him after this news? “My father has decided that the best way to make the merge ‘official’, is to have a wedding... I’m sure you can fill in the rest.” Sasuke looked away, not wanting to see the disappointment or disgust in those blue eyes.

“So, you’re engaged,” the blonde said slowly, her frown deepening. “So, you fucked me, while you’re engaged?” Guilt consumed her, twisting her stomach into knots. “I can’t really blame you… You’re being forced into something you don’t want. I mean, I don’t condone cheating, but at least when we were together, you were doing what you wanted instead of just following whatever your father set up for you. At least I hope so…”

Naruko worried her bottom lip, her fingers tightening on the steering wheel as she turned again, approaching their destination. “I’m not just some kind of revenge against your father, am I?”

Sitting up a bit straighter in the seat, Sasuke frowned and looked over toward the blond, sighing at the disappointment he knew he would see. They pulled up in front of his home but Sasuke didn’t get out right away, he took off his seat belt and faced Naruko.

“Listen to me... I don’t want to get married right now... I never wanted this, I never even agreed to it, hell I haven’t even met her. You have nothing to do with my father... your bar maybe... but not you.” Leaning over the emergency break, Sasuke gently pressed his lips to Naruko’s. “None of that was in my mind when we were together.”

Naruko returned the kiss and smiled as they pulled apart. She leaned in for one more, lingering for a few moments before ending it. “Good… That makes me feel better about it,” she admitted, her fingers stroking up and down Sasuke’s thigh.

“I guess I’d better go…” she sighed, glancing at the clock on the dashboard. It was nearing 3:30 am, and she was exhausted. “I’ll see you soon?”

Sasuke nodded and stepped out of the car. It was almost painful to leave her but he knew that it wasn’t the last time he’d see her. “I may even see you tomorrow.” His charming smile was back as he shut the door and waved before turning and making his way up the driveway and stepping inside after unlocking the front door.

The night had definitely been productive and he knew that whatever it took, he’d fight his father’s stupid suck-up techniques... even it meant giving up his job... and most likely his money along with it.

Naruko pulled away from the curb and headed in the direction of her own apartment. The streets were quiet, with barely any traffic so early in the morning. She made it back quickly and pulled into her parking space in the underground lot.

The building she lived in was huge. It stretched up into the dark sky, the black glass that made up the exterior glimmering in the moonlight. It was one of the most expensive buildings in Konoha and she lived on the top floor, in the penthouse.

Stepping out of her car and grabbing her purse, she locked up and made her way inside, greeting the doorman. Once in the safety of her apartment, the blonde slid her shoes off and flicked on the hallway light before making her way into the bedroom. Stripping from her dress, she padded into the bathroom to clean up, taking her makeup off with some cleanser. Smiling at her reflection in the mirror as she recalled the wonderful night. She reached up and ran her fingers through her hair, and then pulled her wig off. Being a woman sure had benefits. Sasuke Uchiha definitely being at the top of that list.
