Summary: Sasuke’s family is murdered. Managing to survive, Sasuke runs, injured, to another kingdom for help. As he lies dying, he is saved unknowingly by a prince of another land. Sasuke wants vengeance for his family, but will Naruto change that? Main Pairing: SasuNaru ************************************************************************************************************************************************* Chapter One He stumbled; his feet suddenly unable to hold his weight any longer. His vision blurred from massive amounts of blood loss and before he could take another step toward his destination, Sasuke’s legs failed him and he crumpled to the ground without resistance. He didn’t have the strength to go on. That was the pure truth of it. His body lay in bloody tatters from the wounds that had been inflicted late last night. It had been the fight of his life the moment he awoke to the screaming of his mother down the hall. Sasuke had thrown the covers off and grabbed his sword before storming into the corridor… Sasuke squeezed his eyes tight to rid himself of the memories that followed. There had been so much blood and so many screams. He never wanted to remember any of it; the murder of his entire clan. He only managed to escape with the help of his elder brother, Itachi, who had held off the brunt of the attacking force. Itachi had told him to run and that they’d meet up later. Sasuke had taken one last look upon his brother’s face that was drenched in both Itachi’s blood and that of his enemies and at his home, the place of his birth, now consumed in red flames and black smoke. Itachi shouted at him to get moving and that’s the last thing he had heard from his brother before he had begun to run… But Itachi hadn’t met up with him. There was an explosion and his home and everyone still alive near it had gotten caught in its fiery blast. His brother, his last living relative now, was probably dead… So, Sasuke had run. Even in his disoriented state he had set his sights in the direction of a neighboring kingdom. He had never been there himself, but his father had told him of Konoha, the village hidden in the leaves. The ruler there was supposed to be fair and kind. Sasuke could only hope that the rumors were true or else his life would be forfeit once he left his own kingdom and entered another without permission. It had been hours since he had crossed the boarder and ventured into the foreign kingdom. Slowly, he inched his way through the thick forest with his family’s sword in hand. It was the last of what remained of his family’s legacy; everything else had most likely been burned in the fire. He could not lose this artifact. Sasuke struggled to stand from his fallen position only to cough up blood, wheezing as the crimson liquid from his many wounds began to pool in his lungs. This was not good. If he didn’t receive healing soon, he’d be dead. He’d had gone all this way for nothing. Sasuke might as well had stayed home and died with his clan near. Lying near death, Sasuke gripped the earth beneath his palms and clenched his jaw. With his last breath he swore that if he lived through the day that he’d avenge his family and kill the murdering bastard that had taken snatched his family away from him in one foul swoop. He knew he could find him again too. Sasuke remembered all too well the sickly yellow eyes that stared bemused at him, while he slit his parent’s throats before his eyes. Sasuke screamed out in frustration and grief as he remembered the night just hours behind him. Everything hurt, his wounds, his arching limbs, and mostly his heart that screamed for vengeance for his fallen family. He’d get his revenge if only God allowed him the strength to survive until then. He swore on his parent’s lifeless bodies and the bodies of his clan that he’d never stop until he killed the man that had orchestrated his family’s mass murder. Feeling the last bits of his strength fleeing him rapidly, Sasuke’s hearing picked up at the sound of a loud gasp near him before suddenly he saw the most beautiful thing he had ever laid eyes on in his life. The bluest of eyes shown down upon him and Sasuke, if he hadn’t known better, could have been easily deceived that he was staring into the endless blue sky on a perfect cloudless day. Golden strands of hair, poking out in every direction imaginable, resembled the rays of the sun that shown down upon him at this very moment. Framed by the golden fan of hair a slightly feminine lean tanned face was scrunched up with worry at seeing him. The most kissable pink lips were pressed in thin line of concern for him and his well being. Oh god he was really was dying for this must had been an angel come to ferry him over to the next world. Dear god if this was what an angel looked like, he could only imagine what heaven was like. The angel was saying something to him; he could tell by how his mouth was moving frantically and that desperate stare he was being given. But, Sasuke couldn’t hear any of what was being said. In an act to calm the despairing angel, not liking the frown upon that beautiful face, Sasuke shakily raised his hand to cup the other’s cheek in the most affectionate action he had ever done toward anyone other than his mother. “You’re…beautiful…” Sasuke whispered weakly in an exhale. The angel looked shocked by the sudden confession before a bright blush spread across those tanned cheeks that had three scars on each side. It made him look slightly like a fox. The only word that Sasuke could come up with for them was cute... That was the last image that Sasuke saw before his onyx eyes fell shut and didn’t reopen again. His upraised hand fell to the ground soon after… Dear God, if you let me live past today, I swear on the souls of my family that I will kill the man who murdered them… Naruto’s p.o.v. Naruto had been walking through the forest for most of the morning within the boundaries of his kingdom wanting the fresh air and peace of mind that always accompanied him out here. He was remembering a very painful day in his past and this was the only way to let himself find the peace he needed to continue on. His family had always been drawn towards the woods surrounding their kingdom just like the foxes they prized at their sides. It had been long ago that this painful memory had occurred. In the dead of night without so much as a sound of warning, Naruto awoke to the kneading claws of his red fox, Kyuubi, on his stomach. The moment he opened his eyes, Naruto knew something was wrong. And the moment he opened his door to go find his father, Naruto’s tragedy had begun. Naruto shook his head to rid himself of that terrible memory. He had promised himself he wouldn’t think of that anymore. That’s why he was out here, to clear his head. Pushing past some bushes, Naruto laughed as he saw Kyuubi with his three red tails swishing behind him chasing a squirrel. He shook his head at his little red fox before kneeling and holding out his hand to his life companion. “Come on, Kyu, it’s time to go back.” He said. Kyuubi’s ears picked up at the sound of his friend and master’s voice and he quickly crawled up Naruto’s arm perching himself on the blonde’s shoulder. Nuzzling into his cheek, Kyuubi purred into his master’s ear affectionately. Naruto smiled in response and stood back up, ready to go back. He had been out here for too long already and if he didn’t return soon Iruka would probably send a search party after him…again… Suddenly just as Naruto was about to turn, Kyuubi’s ears perked up again and his deep red fur stood on edge. Noticing the subtle change in his friend, Naruto went to calm him when he heard a heart shattering scream pierced the air. Naruto was already on the move toward the blood chilling sound. Whoever had made that scream was in serious trouble. He had to get to them quick. Pushing through the thick foliage, Naruto panted as he ran toward where the scream had come from. Before too long, he found himself in a small clearing not too far from the castle. With hurried eyes, he scanned the surrounding only to pause when he saw a hopefully just unconscious man in the middle. He ran toward him and skidded to his knees to see if the man was alive or not. Looking down on the man, Naruto felt his breath catch as he stared at the most handsome man he had ever seen. Midnight black hair fell back from a pale angled face and strong jaw. Onyx eyes gazed back up at him like black pools with endless depth to them. He couldn’t stop staring at him. He felt mesmerized. Shaking his head remembering his life saving task, Naruto tried to talk to the other to find out what had happened and if he was injured badly though from the amount of blood he guessed he was. “Who are you?” He asked, trying to coax a response out of the man. “What happened to you?” He tried again. “Where did you come from?” He tried one last futile time. Deciding to give up his line of questions in order to try and save this young man’s life, Naruto was about to stand and get help when the handsome man’s hand reached out and cupped his cheek. Naruto’s heart fluttered at the touch. “You’re…beautiful…” The man whispered softly. Naruto’s heart stopped altogether then. Suddenly those black pools closed and that hand fell unresponsive to the ground. Panic arose within him as he frantically shook the other hoping to wake him once more. The action was futile, however, and Naruto quickly stood knowing what he had to do. “Kyuubi, we need to get him back home right now!” Naruto shouted as his furry friend nodded in confirmation and jumped off his shoulder. Before even touching the ground, fire combusted around the little fox and suddenly he grew to the size of a horse with six tails instead of his three little ones before. Quickly, Naruto lifted the heavy man as best as he could before maneuvering over to Kyuubi who crouched low to the ground so the injured man could be laid across his back. Once that difficult task was done, Naruto jumped on Kyuubi’s back behind the man’s unconscious body. “Come on, Kyu, run as fast as you can!” He commanded as he held onto the red fur to stay on. Immediately, Kyuubi broke out into a run toward the castle. If his master wanted to save this man, he was going to do all in his power to help him. Traveling swiftly through the forest, Naruto tried his best to stare ahead to concentrate on getting the injured man to the castle, however, he felt himself constantly returning his gaze to the unconscious body in front of him. Worry and concern for the stranger filled his thoughts as he rode on. He had to get him back to the castle soon or else he’d die for sure. Something in him shook madly at the mere thought of the other dying. “Kyu, faster!” He commanded, feeling the anxiety in his stomach rising with worry for the handsome stranger. With a powerful jerk forward, Kyuubi obeyed his master’s command and pushed his legs faster. “Don’t worry stranger. We’ll be there soon.” Naruto whispered to the man, though he couldn’t hear him. Setting determined eyes toward his castle in the distance, Naruto urged Kyuubi faster once more. They were so close. He wouldn’t let this man die… They reached the large castle in a matter of minutes and upon bounding into the courtyard, startling many servants going about their daily tasks, Naruto jumped off of Kyuubi’s back and started hollering orders to his stunned people. “Kiba, fetch Baa-chan immediately! Tell her it’s an emergency!” Naruto commanded without a moment’s pause. No questions were asked toward the order and within a split second, Kiba was off running to find the head healer for his prince. “Prince Naruto, what is going on?” Kakashi asked as he approached his prince who was struggling to unload something from Kyuubi’s back. He hadn’t even noticed it was a body until he came up close. “Kakashi-sensei, help me get him inside. He’s badly injured.” Naruto said as he tried to lift the man’s body, ignoring his sensei’s question. Kakashi narrowed his eyes at the stock of raven hair he saw on the young man. “Naruto, who is this man?” Kakashi questioned seriously. The young prince looked back at his teacher and captain of the guard with a stern expression. “Help me, Kakashi. That’s an order.” Naruto said leaving absolutely no room for argument. “We’ll worry about who he is after we save him.” He continued. Knowing he couldn’t deny his prince, Kakashi reluctantly stepped in front of Naruto and easily lifted the young man into his arms before rushing him into the castle with Naruto close behind him. He had a bad feeling about this dark haired stranger… ************************************************************************************************************************************************* (1) Kumogakure is in lightning country. I chose this country for Sasuke to be from because he obviously couldn't be from Konoha if he was a prince as well. Lightning country is least known and so I thought I could use it to my advantage by making it where the Uchiha's were from. I hope you liked it. I should have a new chapter out soon. Please review for me! I'd really appreciate it a lot.
