She watched the moonlight as it brightened over her room. The window was open as it was every night now. She kept promising herself that she would close it, lock it. She didn't need this.
In the deepest parts of her heart, she knew better. She needed him like she needed air, water…more than she needed food.
As the light moved over her bed, it was just approaching the edges of her toes. When it did, she knew, he'd be there. She stared at the emerald nails, painted to match her eyes, willing the light to move faster.
Of course, it had its own timetable.
But as it finally started to touch just the tips of her toes, her heart started to beat faster in anticipation. Soon, very soon, he'd be here.

He sat on the roof, telling himself for the millionth time that it didn't matter if her window was open. It didn't matter if she was waiting, he shouldn't be there. It wasn't right.
Words like forbidden kept floating through his head. He knew that he should walk away. He knew that he needed to forget about this, about her. She'd be so much better off without him, free to pursue something healthy, good, and whole.
He knew all these things. Just like he knew that in another couple of minutes, he'd slip over the edge of the roof and into her window. And no matter how much he fought it, fought himself, he couldn't stay away.

There. There it was. She took a deep breath and tried to calm her herself. It was useless, no doubt about that, but she tried, anyway.
She slowly slid off of the bed and turned to the window. The bamboo blind was rolled all the way up, the sheer curtains hanging limp in the still, humid night. The light was almost blinding now, but she paid no attention. She started counting the heartbeats. Ba-dam…ba-dum… one, two, three…and there he was.
She stopped breathing when the spiky-haired silhouette appeared. He paused on the other side, just for the briefest of seconds, before slipping through the window. As he did every night, he lowered the blind before turning to her.
She swallowed the lump that formed when he turned around and nearly launched herself at him. Her fingers speared through his hair and she heard the headband hit the wood floor with a clatter. He picked her up and she wrapped her legs around him.
Tiny kisses on his forehead and cheeks, their eyes met and she could wait no longer. The mask came down, their lips crashed together and she was home.

It was only eighteen hours. He kept telling himself this. He'd just touched her, just kissed her at six that morning. It was only midnight.
It felt like a year, a lifetime. He didn't understand it, couldn't figure it out. It didn't make sense, this pull to her, the constant need to be near her. Not like this…

When they broke apart, she wasted no time pulling on the zipper of his vest. It hit the floor with a clunk, then she started on the buttons of his shirt. By the fourth one, she was so frustrated, she pulled at his shirt and felt a few of them pop as she pulled it off of him.
She heard a rip and then her tank top was gone and she could feel his skin against hers. She paused a few seconds, long enough to savor it, then captured his lips again. His mouth moved on hers, his tongue slid along her tongue mimicking what was to come.
He turned to the bed and lay her down long enough to finish undressing. She watched every movement, memorizing every muscle, every scar, everything that was him. It only took a few seconds, then he was back.
She had no recollection of her panties being removed, but then he was there, filling her up with himself and she could no longer think about anything else.

He started slowly, determined to draw it out. He wanted it to last, this time, the first one. It never did. It was always tumultuous, always like a storm breaking.
And just like always, he moved faster, impatient to hear her cry his name. He needed to see her face twist in pleasure. He couldn't wait another moment…and he wasn't disappointed.
* * *
It slammed into her, surprising her. She should know it would be like this. Desperation, need, raw and hungry, clawed at them. She called his name, trying to show him what he did for her, to her. She wrapped herself around him, cradling him, holding him to her for as long as she could.
Their lips met again and it slowed down. They rolled and she rose up, taking over, wanting more than anything to give to him, now. Their hands met, fingers threaded and eyes locked. And she rode him slowly, telling him with her eyes everything her mouth refused to say.
Stay, this time. Love me, like I love you. But like always, she was too afraid of the answer and she closed her eyes. And because she did, she never saw the answer. She never knew his eyes pleaded with her to speak the words just once. Because if she did, she might just get what she wants.
Moving faster, she lost herself in the physical once again. When she went off the edge, she took him with her. And as she fell, she heard him shout her name.

She woke just as dawn was breaking over the horizon. She watched the light creep across the floor slowly, not willing to face what she knew was on the pillow next to her. Sighing, she gave in and rolled over. As always, the bed was empty. As always, there was a note on the pillow.
She didn't need to read it to know what it said.
If you want to see me tonight, leave your window unlocked.
-K
She fought them. She wasn't going to give in. Not today. Not this time. She stared hard at the wall, willing her body to behave.
And when it didn't, she pulled his pillow closer, buried her face in his scent and let the tears fall.
