  • Alpha: This chapter has been updated (*) indicates where. Some things I wrote was really unnecessary and when I went back to read this chapter I cringed. (I knew I was really sleepy when I wrote it). I hope this time around it sounds better than it did before.

Well anyhow, I don’t own except any OCs that may arise. It’s rated M for a fucking reason, and please excuse any grammatical errors you may come across in this. If you happen to find quite a lot near the end of this it’s because I didn’t bother to stop and go the hell to sleep, stubbornly trying to finish this so I could post it on ff.net.

Thank you and have a pleasant reading time.

    Apprentice to the Bloodline Limit

    Chapter I: New Start

A streaking sound is heard followed by sounds of bare feet running from one end of the room to the next on hard wood floor throughout the old wooden home. A light splash of chemical cleaning solution moves around as liquid does in a bucket full of hot scalding water, some of it making it’s way on the floor by a makeshift white cleaning rag.

A tan muscular arm with a calloused hand from years of fighting and hard work dipped itself once again to retrieve a soapy cloth that smelled of pine and lavender. Ringing it out a little, the hand now accompanied by its’ twin set out to repeat the cleaning process again.

More streaks were heard as Naruto ran from one end of the room to the next, getting the old wooden floors of the empty training room cleaned to perfection.

The young teenager continued to repeat the process of cleaning the woodworks until it was time to get to the polishing and waxing of the floor.

The juvenile had been busy cleaning the large floors of his home for half that morning, taking ten minute breaks in between every few hours. He was sweaty, having taken off his white tee some hours ago. He was dressed down only in a pair of orange shorts and nothing else. The unbearable heat of the April spring season made his chore all the more tiring.

The yearly weather in Konoha was usually always warm and sunny and barely did citizens of the capital city of the Country of Fire have cold harsh winter seasons. So it wasn’t surprising that even in the beginnings of the spring season for the temperatures to be high in the nineties today.

Naruto made one last run across the floor then stopped to take another quick break. Smiling blue eyes looked to the overall surface of the wooden floors to see his work. He was proud to note that he done another job well done. The floor was sparkling clean and the room smelt fresh of scented forest pine and lavender.

“Whew! Now all that’s left is to wax and polish the floor,” he dropped the cleaning rag into the bucket and lazily sat down by the black sliding doors that led to the outdoors.

The blond male smiled as his eyes looked out into the vast landscapes that surrounded his new home. It was a large but old dojo that was isolated just near the edge of the suburban town; where one had a magnificent view of Konoha City from below. The land surrounding the home consisted of temperate forestry, green tall grass and a view of the mountainous terrain to the west side where there were stone cravings of all the Hokages of Konoha. Both past and present.

His current home was something he had just inherited just a few weeks prior. He had a very generous benefactor who remained anonymous. He not only inherited the old dojo but along with the home he acquired the six acres of land surrounding it as well.

For someone like him who grew up with practically nothing living in the poorest district of downtown Konoha, this was a luxury. He had more space to move about and the best thing of all, was he had his own personal training area to work with.

Naruto tiredly felt himself yawning before closing his eyes for a few minutes.

“I’ll break for five more minutes…”

    --- --- ---

    *

The putrid smell of garbage permeated the air, and the hot humid winds of the summer day swept the disgusting smell into the down trodden one bedroom apartment of Uzumaki Naruto.

If there was one thing he hated about living on the fifth floor of the high rise apartment complex, it was being unfortunate to have his small home smelling like shit on trash day.

The Kinshou-Ha district had the worst of everything: worst gangs, worse public transportation spots, the worst clubs, the worst mail carriers, worst trash workers.

Naruto’s face remained scrunched up even after he shut the windows to keep the hot air from blowing in the scent of trash inside.

He was going to have to buy some more Lysol spray to get the stench out, his apartment reeked and he just cleaned it yesterday.

Putting on his orange and white jacket, the twelve year old boy headed out.

“I’ll just buy some after I eat at Ichiraku’s.”

Naruto strolled down the hallway on the fifth floor to the elevators. The walls had cracks and graffiti painted all over. The place really needed a good fixing up but the owner of the apartment complex was too damn greedy for money.

Plus, no one really wanted to move to live in Kinshou-Ha. The crime rate was pretty high here.

The adolescent finally made his way out the doors, and hitting the streets.

“Man, I really hate trash day,” from the faces of the few pedestrians he saw walking down the street, they were in agreement. The smell was ten times worse up close and personal. It was past 2’o clock, where the hell are the trash guys?!

He was just one block and a half away from his destination, once he turned the corner on an empty dead end street that had rundown abandoned homes that turned into places that sheltered the homeless and gangs alike.

He knew he was being followed when he made the first turn at the last street corner where the subway stop was.

“Don’t you get tired of playing hide and seek!?” Naruto shouted at his enemies.

One by one dark flashes of bodies dropped down to the ground below from their hiding places out in the open to come face to face with Naruto. Each of them wore combat army looking clothing in colors of black, grays, and browns.

Naruto smirked, making no move to attack the thugs. This was just going to end the same way it did every time they crossed paths. Naruto was all too familiar with this particular gang who ran Kinshou-Ha as their own territory.

“Hey! If it isn’t our friend, the bastard fox!”

There were sniggers at Abumi Zaku’s statement. The black hair teen wasn’t the leader but he knew Dosu had no problems with him calling the shots. The bandaged wrapped boy sat lazily on a slab of broken brick. Behind Zaku, was their female partner, Tsuchi Kin smirking down at Naruto.

“Just the guy we wanted to see!”

The blue eyed boy grinned, “Aww I’m really touched by that. Are you that eager to get your asses kicked again?”

“We had enough of you hanging around these parts Uzumaki!”

“Funny ya been sayin’ that since I was four and I clearly remember being the owner of this turf!” Naruto yelled; making a thumb’s down gesture with his hand.

“You got a lot fucking mouth Uzumaki!” In one step, Zaku quickly had a hold on the shorter teen by his shirt.

“Don’t beat him up just yet Zaku,” Dosu was clearly amused underneath all that bandaging. He had an evil glint in his eye.

“What business you got with me Abumi?” Naruto glared. He had one hand on the arm Zaku held him with.

“You keep hangin’ around these parts and you’re going to be blame for the old man’s death. People can’t stand you enough as it is, so you’ll be best leaving Konoha!”

Naruto squeezed Zaku’s arm, “What the hell you talking about the old man for? I thought we were gonna fight!”

“The Sound Syndicate’s boss, our leader needs you especially out of the picture when he returns to Konoha,” said Dosu. “If you’re here, you’re gonna make things—complicated.”

“Then we should just stop playing around with him now and kill him! I’m getting tired of always chasing this asshole around town!” suggested Kin. The girl in the black mini dress and boots was slowly reaching inside the small pack around her waist for her senbon and bells.

“Boss said not too,” Dosu glared at the long ebony haired girl, refusing to get up from his spot.

Kin only glared back, “He knows better than any of us that keeping this boy around will cause him trouble in the long run!”

    “His rules.”

“It’s still dumb, I say let Zaku kill him!”

“I don’t give a damn who your boss is! He won’t be able to take the old man down!” Naruto let go of Zaku’s arm, quickly putting his hands into his signature move.

“And he sure as hell won’t be able to take me down either!” A poof of smoke was heard and the trio was surrounded by hundreds of Naruto clones. As the real Naruto kicked Zaku in his lower jaw and made an escape for it.

“Fucking brat!” Zaku howled in pain. He positioned his arms outward, channeling his energy. A strong gust of air propelled forth cutter quickly through a lot of kage bushins made by Naruto.

“Boss said we couldn’t kill him, but he didn’t say we couldn’t beat him until he was unconscious,” Said Dosu, punching the ground with his right arm and making destructive sound waves that immediately eliminated more shadow clones.

“The hell with Orochimaru! I’m gonna kill him!” Zaku yelled running in the direction he last saw Naruto go.

Kin had already dashed off after the kid. She used some of her needles tied to strong invisible string and stuck them in to stick in various places surrounding the boy as she hid in the shadows behind an empty abandon house.

She watched as he stopped running; looking around for his pursuers as he walked. She smiled, waiting for his foot to step on her invisible string.

“Just a little bit more…” She whispered, as his left foot was seconds away from stepping on it.

“Hey Akamaru! Where you running off too so fast?”

Naruto put his foot down just a few inches short of Kin’s string. He turned around to see a boy around his age with messy brown hair running behind a puppy.

    “Shit!” she silently cursed.

He was suddenly bombarded by a small white blob with brown flappy ears drooling all over his face with licks.

“Ack! Get this mutt the hell off me!”

“Don’t talk to Akamaru like that! Akamaru come here!” The brown hair boy commanded.

The small puppy barked and jumped down from Naruto to run back towards his master.

“Well you need to learn to control your dog!”

Akamaru whimpered hiding behind the boy’s legs.

“Akamaru, don’t let that punk get to you! We’re show him!”

“You starting something bastard?!” Naruto yelled.

“Maybe I am!” the boy shouted back.

Kin was getting impatient for anyone of the idiots to just step on the damn string. She wasn’t after the boy and his dog, but if he got caught in the crossfire it was his life.

Just her luck as Naruto stomped hard on the string. He made the small ringing of a bell go off and suddenly a barrage of senbons came hurtling towards him, the boy and his dog.

She smiled, coming out of her hiding place to see she successfully had gotten the idiot Jinchuuriki. She frowned at the bodies of the unknown boy and his dog.

“Oh well just one more casualty in the scheme of—”

Naruto’s bodied corpse with senbons in it poof out of existence. The other two bodies made poof noises and ended up being nothing more than logs.

She was ticked, but not put out just yet, “Doesn’t matter, I still have more where that came from Uzumaki…you did set off my bells.”

She made a run for it, hopping on top of roofs to chase after the boys.

“‘Looks like your friend isn’t some regular civilian either,’” she thought.

“Why the hell was that crazy bitch trying to kill us?!” The brown hair boy screamed at Naruto as they ran.

“JUST WHO THE HELL ARE YOU ANYWAY!?”

Naruto shouted instead. He was doing just fine against those three Sound Syndicate clowns until this ass and his dog showed up.

“I’M THE ONE WHO SHOULD BE ASKING YOU THAT?!”

“BASTARD YOU ALMOST GOT ME KILLED!”

“I ALMOST GOT YOU KILLED! YOU ALMOST GOT MY DOG MAIMED!”

“IT AIN’T MY FAULT YOU LET YOUR STUPID DOG RUN IN THE MIDDLE OF A FIGHT!”

    “WELL YOU—”

They’re bickering was cut short by loud ringing in their ears. Both stopped in mid run, clutching their heads.

Naruto was feeling disoriented and couldn’t keep his eyes focused on the smirking figure of Kin.

“What the hell are you doing!” the boy yelled at Kin. He was also clutching his head in pain from the loud chiming in his inner eardrum.

“Hmm, I did nothing. You brought this upon yourself by setting off my bells.”

“Damn it!” Naruto was reaching behind him to try and get a hold onto one of the shuriken in his back pouch. He was too unfocused and feeling fatigue that he couldn’t get a handle on anything.

“It’s useless to fight against the sound of my bells ringing inside your skull!”

Kin was walking closer to him with a very long senbon in her hands ready to strike him in the throat.

And then her feet were locked in position. She tried to move them but she couldn’t.

Angry, she yelled, “What the hell is this!? Who’s doing this!?”

“Tch, so damn troublesome,” a tall boy with short hair styled in a spiky ponytail wasn’t too faraway from behind the raven haired female. He was in a kneeling position with his hands in the sign of his family’s jutsu.

    “Who the hell are you?!”

“Sh-Shikamaru…” the boy with brown hair uttered.

Shikamaru looked at his friend and dog sprawled on the floor in pain. He also saw the blond boy looking ready to fall from feeling disoriented by whatever technique the girl was performing.

“Kiba, Chouji and I were planning on leaving because it was too troublesome to wait for you while you went after Akamaru.”

    “Lazy bastard.”

“Before we were about to leave, we ran into these two thugs. We fought them until Chouji got hit real badly by one of their attacks so we escaped to look for you and to let Chouji heal.”

“Stop ignoring me!” Kin yelled behind her at Shikamaru.

“Troublesome, Chouji a little help here please?”

    “CHOU HARITEI!”

Kin couldn’t even blink before she was hit hard by a super sized giant hand, effectively knocking her out cold. It also cancelled her technique, making the loud ringing in Kiba’s, Akamaru’s, and Naruto’s ear to stop.

Chouji placed a hand on his injured arm. That Dosu guy really got him bad.

Shikamaru stood up to his full height, looking at his friend slowly get up from rooftop. He scratched the back of his hand before sighing.

“We need to get a move on before those guys come here and that girl wakes up.”

His narrowed eyes looked at Naruto, “I’m assuming you are the cause of our run-ins with these people.”

“Heh, keep talking and I’ll beat the shit out of you!” Naruto spat.

“Is that anyway to talk to somebody that just help save your life?!” Kiba yelled, he was shaking his head a bit. The after affects of the ringing were still annoyingly there in his ears. He was looking over his dog as well, making sure Akamaru was okay.

“Will you two shut-up, they can probably hear us.”

    “Too late!”

The four boys and dog saw Zaku come rushing towards them with his air cutter attack. While Dosu remained down below causing shockwaves to reach them through punching the ground and the sides of the rundown buildings.

    “Shit!”

    “Damn it!”

    “Such a pain.”

The group quickly moved out of harm’s way. The Building they were standing on not too long ago was completely demolished by the two Sound Syndicate gangsters. Each of them separated at different corners on top of houses. They were assessing their situation.

Kiba was ready to attack Zaku with Akamaru.

That is until the sound of several footsteps approaching them.

“Zaku! Get Kin and bring your ass on! Sounds like the Hokage sent in reinforcements!”

Dosu yelled, making a run for it.

    “But I was about to—”

“Screw it! There’s next time! Now move it!”

Zaku smirked evilly at Naruto before heading off, “When Orochimaru returns, Konoha’s good as dead!”

“OVER MY DEAD BODY!” Naruto yelled at the laughing retreating boy.

It wasn’t long before the five of them were surrounded by Sandaime Hokage’s Elite officers.

“Uh oh, looks like we got in trouble, Shikamaru,” Chouji stated.

    The brunette only sighed, “Troublesome.”

“The Hokage wants to see all of you now! This isn’t a request, it’s an order!” The leader shouted behind their painted tiger mask.

The group were soon taken inside the main building of the Hokage’s Headquarters. Where they were currently standing looking rather awkward in front of Sarutobi’s desk.

“It looks like we have a bunch of troublemakers.”

Naruto was the first one to start yelling at Sarutobi without any regards to respect.

“IT WASN’T MY FAULT THIS TIME! THOSE DAMN YAKUZA BASTARDS CAME AFTER ME! THEY KEPT SAYING SOME SHIT ABOUT THEIR RINGLEADER TAKING YOU DOWN!!”

“Quiet Naruto!” Sarutobi commanded. He took another puff of his smoke pipe.

    “But Jii-”

    “I said that’s quite enough.”

Naruto crossed his arms, silently fuming at the old man who was ignoring him.

“I would like to know what the future generation of the Akimichi, Nara, and Inuzuka were doing hanging out in Kinshou-Ha. This city’s most dangerous district?”

Kiba averted his eyes to his left away from the Hokage.

“We weren’t exactly trying to go there…Akamaru started chasing after some cat and I had to go after him…” Kiba trailed off.

“With all due respect Hokage-sama, that gang did attack us first. Chouji, Kiba, and me didn’t know they knew that guy— here Shikamaru glanced over at Naruto still fuming on his right— However, we don’t know why they were after him, just that we were caught up in it.”

Sarutobi didn’t speak for a long moment, and then he smiled at the young boys, “I see, then you are all dismissed. Chouji, you need to have a healer look at your arm before you go.”

    “Yes sir.”

“But sir! You’re just going to let them getaway with this! All of them broke the law, the law you set in place! Not to mention the damage to pro—”

Sarutobi only held up a hand to stop his Anbu officer from ranting on and on.

“As long as they were protecting themselves, they did nothing wrong, correct?”

The man in the tiger mask was suddenly silenced.

    “BUT JIISANNNNNNNN! YOU DIDN’T—”

“Will you quit it! You sound annoying!” Kiba snapped, pushing Naruto out of his way to leave.

“You wanna go! I’ll kick ya ass right here, right now!”

“You’re on…Naruto! What kind of name is that anyway! Akamaru and me are gonna make you pay for what you said to him earlier!”

There were small angry marks near the Sandaime’s head as the two boys yelled at one another. And the barks thrown in from Akamaru every now and then as they left.

Shikamaru was the last to leave. He turned halfway around to face Sarutobi.

“I don’t know what’s going on, but the three gang members we fought against but up a tough challenge. All of them had similar attacks, having to do with sound or vibrations. Also one of the guys who got away mentioned the name Orochimaru and that his return means death for Konoha.”

Sarutobi was immensely impressed with the young Nara boy. He didn’t miss a beat.

“That might not be much to you, but I figured that perhaps you would know that name at the very least. Whatever it is about that guy Naruto, they seemed especially bent on killing him. Maybe it was best that we all met up…”

“Thank you for the information Shikamaru, it will come in handy.”

Shikamaru nodded his head, taking his time to leave out the doors. He turned to see that Kiba, Chouji, and Naruto were still there staring at him with blank faces.

    “What?”

“You make me sick, if you weren’t such a lazy bastard, you’ll actually be the top of our class!” Kiba yelled.

“Doing schoolwork is too much work.”

    “Everything’s too much work!”

    “Oi!”

All three of the young friends stopped to look back at Naruto who glared and pointed at them.

“Who the hell are all three of you?”

Shikamaru didn’t feel like explaining, sticking his index finger in his ear, digging for wax. He seemed a little annoyed. Was this guy seriously dumb? Didn’t he just hear the Hokage mention who they were not too long ago.

“I’m Akimichi Chouji, and they are Inuzuka Kiba his dog Akamaru, and Nara Shikamaru.”

“Uzumaki Naruto!” The blond laughed loudly.

“So where you guys from? I’ve never seen you around Kinshou-Ha before,” he said afterward, sounding more serious.

“That’s because we’re not. We live further up north in Junsei-Ha district.”

Naruto was familiar with Junsei-Ha. It was the Inner City Konoha’s most upscale spot to live at.

It was also the home of snooty high middle class income families that looked down on him. He was never allowed to enter that part of town because of the resentment from the people living there.

It was hard to believe that these guys were from such an area. Maybe they weren’t all that cool after all.

“Thanks for earlier back there,” he said grinning widely at the trio.

“It was troublesome but no big deal.”

“Although, if it weren’t for dog-breath, I would have gotten away just fine!”

    “Dog-breath!?”

Naruto started laughing as he ran away from the enraged Inuzuka boy and his puppy.

    --- --- ---

Soft girlish giggling was heard and then the sound of an irate girl yelling at her friend woke Naruto out of his nap.

The blond wasn’t even aware he had fallen asleep by the door. He sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes.

“I wonder how long I’ve been out?”

Looking out into the sunny sky, Naruto noted that it was still early into the afternoon. He wasn’t sleep for that long.

Thoughts of the old man and the first time he became friends with Shikamru, Kiba, and Chouji brought a wistful smile to the young man’s face. He wondered what those three were up to these days. He hadn’t seem them in three years.

“Oh shut up Ino! You’re just mad you have to wear that make-up to cover up that nasty zit on your cheek!”

Naruto was sure that was Sakura arguing with Ino.

“Tch! Oh please! It was only one time I had a crisis like that!”

He could hear the slight embarrassment in her rebuttal.

“You could lessen the amount of cosmetics you use; you look older than you look.”

“I really look older than I am?!”

“Please calm down Ino-chan, don’t stress yourself.”

    “Let her have wrinkles Hinata-chan.”

“I don’t get wrinkles you big foreheaded cow!”

“You do too! I see one here, here, and especially here!”

    “Ow!”

“Oh boy! Do you guys have to do this everyday?”

Closing the door, Naruto allowed his ears to lead him to the familiar voices of four girls in his age group at the front of his house.

There he found a pink haired girl with green eyes. A brunette with two thick buns in her hair and chocolate brown eyes, a platinum long haired blonde with sky blue eyes; and a timid looking girl with dark midnight blue hair and pale violet eyes talking amongst themselves.

It seemed all four girls had opted to dress in similar clothing. All of them in summer dresses with varying designs and colors. Tenten had opted on wearing red mini shorts under her dress since she was going to play soccer. It was weird, but a custom the girls did together on certain days was to all wear the same style of clothing.

They had been walking on the empty roadside path in front of his house. Naruto noted they walked the same path everyday. They always seemed to come walking down the small hill to his right. He didn’t know his way around here yet, but he was sure that further up that hill was a gated housing community.

He grinned at all four of them, silently watching Hinata try to be the voice of reason between Ino and Sakura. Tenten feeling annoyed with their petty fighting and Ino and Sakura pointing fingers and yelling at each other. Then he saw Sakura point at different places on Ino’s face then plucked her hard in the forehead with a smirk.

“Oi! Why are you four making so much noise in front of my house?”

A pair of eight eyes turned to the blond standing on the porch in nothing but a pair of orange shorts. None of their eyes missed how tanned and lean he was; or the fact that he had a nice muscular build.

Of course their obvious stares at his physique went unnoticed as he looked more interested in Haruno Sakura than anyone else. Sakura for her part did her best to look nonchalant. Like she wasn’t stunned at all to know that the new guy was pleasing on the eyes. She shook her head, finally remembering what Naruto said to them.

“Wait! You live here?!” She gawked, pointing at the medium size home behind him.

“Yea I do,” he sheepishly replied.

The resident cherry blossom froze with momentary shock. A sudden shudder went down her spine.

“What the hell! This stupid gangster lives here!? Just great, I hope he doesn’t try to follow me around!”

Since meeting him, Sakura felt her life was surrounded by endless streams of bad luck. Meeting him at the café everyone hung out at was one of her most embarrassing moments she never wanted to repeat again.

    “I just moved here recently.”

“It’s very nice to meet you again Uzumaki-kun,” Hinata bowed politely.

“Heh, I told you, just Naruto is fine Hinata-chan.”

The pale lavender eye girl just smiled, “Of course.”

“None of you answered my question yet,” he stated, filling in the awkward silence.

“Ohh, Sakura you better answer your boy toy before he comes over here,” Yamanaka Ino teased, smiling smugly at the embarrass girl.

“He’s not my boy toy! Piggy!” Sakura snapped.

Hinata and Tenten stood on the side looking at the blonde and the cherry blossom banter with each other. The brunette just sighed, deciding to bounce the soccer ball on her knees, while the jet haired beauty beside her smiled a little at the scene before brightly blushing in the blond male’s direction.

“We’ve always taken this route,” Tenten decided to supply him with an answer.

She was getting a bit impatient now. She had to meet with some of the guys to play some soccer that afternoon and the last thing she wanted was to be accosted by Lee into doing over extra activities because she was late.

“So that means, when school starts I can walk with Sakura-chan?” Naruto cheekily grinned.

“No! You may not walk with us!” Sakura huffed, turning her head from Naruto to begin walking away.

Ino glared, “He said walk with you, not us.”

“Tch, aw Sakura-chan! Don’t be like tha—ah!” Too busy keeping his line of vision on the pretty strawberry hair girl walking away. Naruto didn’t see where he was walking. His foot didn’t touch polished black hardwood and he promptly fell onto the ground hard.

Ino laughed feeling haughty as she sneered down at Naruto, “Serves you right for being so rude! It’s not like Sakura is the only girl standing here! There are more attractive women in front of you! You need better tastes Naruto!”

“What are you trying to say?!” Sakura immediately turned around and yelled. Ino easily ignored her, as she continued laughing at the boy’s misfortune.

It wasn’t that she really cared one way or another if he had this huge sudden crush on her best friend. But Yamanaka Ino was a bit vain that she hated for anyone to ignore her, especially boys….especially cute looking boys.

If she were being a bit honest with only herself, she’ll admit that the new guy in Hareha was very attractive. But it crushed her when she mistakenly thought she was the girl he was crushing on when in fact it was Sakura. Though she couldn’t really blame him, she did walk in his line of vision when he was clearly talking to Sakura that day in the café. His compliment which was meant for Sakura had shocked her she stood frozen. She did not like being told in front of everyone that he wasn’t talking about ‘her’ he meant the girl ‘behind’ her.

He maybe a bit of a bumbling fool from her first impressions of him, but it didn’t make him any less cute. It was a bit of a blow to her ego to be brushed off for her rival. So in a sort of retaliation, Ino would be a bit mean towards him.

“What an idiot! Why couldn’t he get a crush on Ino and bother her!?” Sakura thought to herself, she grimaced down at the boy who wouldn’t leave her alone.

“Naruto-kun!” Hinata grasp, her heart going out to the young man.

“Be more careful unless you’re trying to kill whatever brain cells you have left Uzumaki,” the brunette with the buns in her hair felt she was sighing more and more these days.

    “Damn, that hurts,” Naruto mumbled.

“Don’t feel sorry for him! He brought that on himself! I’m not going to date you so stop bothering me Naruto!” Sakura yelled, storming off.

Ino continued chuckling, and Tenten began walking away feeling sorry for the blond.

“Here, give this to him,” Ino handed Tenten a pale purple handkerchief, walking to catch up to the pink haired girl.

“Dummy, you just moved here, if you break your neck and die by accident, you’ll give this entire town something actually worth while to talk about,” said Tenten giving the blue eyed male the handkerchief.

“Ah…” he said for lack of anything else, watching the brown hair girl walk away.

Hinata took the handkerchief from him and wrapped it around the small scab on his right arm. When she finished, she looked up at Naruto who was cheekily grinning down at her and she blushed.

“Um…sorry Naruto-kun…but we have to be somewhere,” Hinata blushed prettily, bowing politely to the blue eyed teenager. She then jogged just enough to catch up with the three girls who had already started walking away from the ‘idiot’.

Naruto stood there rubbing his head than he grinned again. Feeling undefeated he yelled to Sakura’s retreating back.

“I haven’t given up on you yet Sakura-chan!!! You will like me one day! You’ll see; you’ll love to go out with me!!”

“And Ino-chan, Tenten-chan, and Hinata-chan! Thank you! I feel much better now after getting help from such cute girls!”

Sakura twitched an eye as the group of four walked on.

“Not on your life pal,” she uttered between clenched teeth.

Ino and Tenten just sniggered behind their hands. Hinata just smiled reassuringly, patting Sakura on the back. Though all three of them were equally flustered this time. That boy was such a flirt when he wanted to be.

“Maybe you should go out with him just once. It could get him to stop.”

Sakura turned wide green eyes on the girl dressed in black and plum colors, “Are you crazy! That could make things more worse!”

“I don’t think he’s all that bad,” Hinata said with a slight blush in her cheeks.

“Eh?!” The three cried in unison. Hinata shrunk away from their incredulous stares.

“If you don’t think he’s bad, then you date him! I’m not giving that guy any ideas that I’m interested!”

Sakura fluffed her long strawberry hair behind her back, “Besides, my intended target is and always has been Sasuke-kun!” She smiled, a small blush adoring her cheeks thinking about the aloof Uchiha heir. This statement had done its job of taking the girls’ attention off of Hinata who couldn’t be more grateful to Sakura for her amusing but annoying fights with Ino.

Ino actually made a snort worthy of her namesake at this, “Who’s getting Sasuke-kun now?” One delicate blond trimmed eyebrow rose questioningly.

“This pretty and smart girl named Haruno Sakura of course!” Sakura said with much confidence.

“Hmph, well tell this Sakura girl that’s she’s way over her big forehead if she thinks Sasuke is going to go after her because he obviously will come after me!”

    “What!?” Sakura yelled.

From there, Ino and Sakura continued their bickering as they walked. Tenten and Hinata shared glances with each other before sighing.

“Tell me why we hang out with those two again?”

Hinata started counting on her fingers, “Meddling families who think of staying on top of the social ladder? Because Sakura-chan and Ino-chan had become our best of friends since middle school? Because Ino-chan throws the best parties? Because Sakura-chan is good when it comes to playing you in volleyball?”

“Well if they continue to bore me with talking about Uchiha for another five minutes I’m going ahead, you can stick around for the fireworks if you want.”

“Well…someone has to be the mediator between them so nothing gets out of hand,” Hinata replied with a small smile.

“You’re right, well good luck with that Hina-chan,” Tenten smiled patting the girl’s back and walking on ahead of Ino and Sakura who were still dishing out verbal jabs at each other.

“This is going to be an interesting year after all,” the Hyuuga heiress whispered to herself with a smile.

    --- --- ---

“Good morning,” a voice softly said in the quiet blue painted hospital room. A dark skinned female with wild dark red hair tamed somewhat with a green bandana; walked inside over to the bed that occupied an unconscious form breathing deeply. She had on a long black shirt and green pants that came to her knees.

Milk chocolate colored hands situated the bouquet of chrysanthemums in a simple white vase on the small table next to her mother’s bed.

“Ne, Mama, I brought you your favorite flowers again. They’re beautiful just like your namesake,” said teenager sat down in the vacant seat next to the bed.

    “How are you doing today?”

Nothing but the sound of beeps from the equipment monitoring her mother’s stats could be heard in the small room. The press of air from the life support machine, keeping oxygen circulating in the woman’s body.

“I see they finally put some color in here like I told them too. I know how you hate being in these sort of places, no color, very depressing.”

Karui continued on the same way she always did, having conversations with herself. She didn’t expect to receive an answer from her mother who lain still like a vegetable for eight years in a coma.

“Well I’m very glad to hear your doing great! Don’t worry about me, everything’s good on my side too!”

She smiled towards her mother. It was the same everyday she came to visit. Her mother was practically dead, no movement, no sound, nothing from her. The native Kumo girl was just content with making conversation with the woman, pretending her mother was speaking to her in a fashion she knew the woman would because even if her mother was actually ‘dead’, she knew she could still hear her.

“You might be doing okay, but some more exercises for you mama! You’ll hate to wake up with weak muscle mass! Who’s going to continue my training when the time comes stubborn woman,” Karui pulled the covers back and did her daily routine of moving her mother’s limbs to keep them strong with small exercises.

She was especially careful with her mom’s bandaged left leg. The left leg received the most damage to it years ago.

“I’ve been keeping up with my studies lately,” she moved on to the right leg.

“I finally manage to make the top second place! Can you believe that after placing in twentieth just low of the class since forever; I’m finally right behind that idiot Omoi! Of course, no one has ever surpassed that over analyzing fool.”

She paused what she was doing and looked at her mother’s face with a bit of sadness.

“Say, Mama still remembers Omoi and Samui right? Samui’s one grade higher than Omoi and I. She’s always made first in her year.”

It was a habit to ask the woman if she remembered people because she remembered overhearing the nurses whisper that her mother may wake up with no memories of anything.

That had been some years ago. Kirabi had to literally fight her tooth and nail to drag her out of the hospital. A dirty looking tom-boyish nine year old girl that could almost pass for a boy in the clothing she wore. Tears ran down her messy face, and snout came out of her nose that needed desperate cleaning. All in all she had been a complete mess for a week. If Kirabi didn’t come get her, there would have been serious damage to property and to the staff.

“Hah! I knew it! Of course you do, you always had a good memory! You always use to win all those memory games we use to play together when I was little.”

“Omoi still sucks on lollipops, he and Samui told me to tell you they said hi and they can’t wait until you come home. Everyone even Kirabi misses your home cook meals. Omoi thinks you’re a better cook than his mom. Did Mama always know that Omoi was my half brother? I only found out just four years ago…”

After finishing with stretching her arms and legs and pulling the covers back over the icy cold woman; the dutiful daughter began to brush her mother’s dark brownish red hair.

“Hmm…don’t tease me woman! I tried to follow one of your recipes but I totally blew it. I think you just have to give up on having a lady like daughter.”

Karui was admiring how freakishly long her mother’s hair had gotten. It was pretty and soft and very long and curly. She always did love her mother’s hair.

“But it’s fine Mama! I’m an independent woman who’s going to be a great fighter. So I don’t care what you say, I’m never going to get settled down. It’s just not my kind of thing, you know that by now!”

Her mother was the most feminine woman she knew, even for a lady that could hold her own in battle.

“Mama, you’re not disappointed in me because I’m nothing like you imagined a proper daughter to be?”

Of course there was no reply. Karui smiled a little at the unresponsive woman whose beauty and grace she admired and yet envied. She sometimes wondered if she was even related to this lady. She was nothing like her mother at all.

“That makes me happy! I’m very lucky to have a mama that’s so understanding!”

The amber eye girl knew she would be, it was just the type of lady she was. She finished with brushing her hair and sat back down in her seat, hairbrush in hand.

“The doctor said that any day now you’ll be able to come home with me, where you can rest more comfortably in your own room…so when you wake up, you can be surrounded by a familiar atmosphere,” she said softly.

Karui clenched her fist tighter around the hairbrush, suddenly glaring at the woman, “I got your letter.”

“You know, the one you specifically demanded me not to open until now? But you gave to Raikage-sama to hold onto anyway just in case I opened it up earlier than instructed?”

Again nothing said, just the stillness of the room and the beeping of machines.

“Yea, that one, I read it…so you want me to transfer to Konoha?”

Amber eyes glared harder at the coma induced patient.

“You know stubborn woman, I don’t want to go.”

She adverted her eyes away from her mother to a wall than back to her.

“I don’t see how I need to attend Konoha University High Private Academy, Kumo is just as great, perhaps even better!” she yelled.

She wanted her mother to wake up and yell at her right now. Tell her to shut up and do as she said, but there was nothing.

“For so long I tried to understand why you would want me to go. Do you know that I resent you for this decision?”

“I don’t even have a clue to who this person is you want me to meet! Much less about some old scrolls you want me to give them! A little more information would have been nice Mama!”

Deep down, Karui had a feeling her mother had anticipated that, but carried with her decision anyway.

    “I’m not going there!”

The sound of a hairbrush slapping the cold tile floor into pieces echoed inside the room and Karui unconsciously was standing up, yelling at the unresponsive woman in the bed.

“You can’t make me go, and you can’t make me feel guilty about my decision either!”

A lie if one ever heard it.

    “Wake up!”

“I won’t go to that school… until you at least wake up!”

“Why are you always like this? Talk to me!”

“How dare you ask me to leave your side when at any chance you could wake up alone and I won’t be here to be with you when you do! Don’t be selfish mama!”

She was not going to cry. She’ll be damned if she started crying. Karui couldn’t even remember the last time she did cry.

“I don’t care if this hurts I’m not leaving your side…”

“Come on, don’t do this to me! I’ve had enough of this! Talk to me because I’m tired of talking to myself!”

“I get why you want to send me away…but I can be just as stubborn mama. So open your eyes first and then I’ll go to Konoha Academy.”

It was almost time for her to leave. The tom-boyish young lady gave up. She rested her hands on her mother’s cold skin. She laid her head down on the mattress while holding her hand.

“Nothing is going to change anytime soon-” Karui sat up straighter.

There it was again, faint but noticeable. A faint squeeze on her fingers.

“Heh, why do I get this feeling that I’m going to be forced to leave Kumo anyway?”

A full squeeze, harder than the first, grabbing her hand. Karui felt the corners of her mouth twisting in a real smile for the first time since visiting her mother in the hospital.

“You’re always getting your way you’re such a spoiled mom!”

It felt really nice to have her mother respond to her with the constant squeezes. She didn’t move any other muscles, but Karui was satisfied with only this.

“You still didn’t open your eyes yet, but this is a start,” she got up from her seat, “I have to go now.”

She quickly kissed her mother’s forehead, then picked up the hairbrush she broke, making that number twenty in a week.

“Bye mama, I’ll come by later this evening,” with that Karui left, closing the door behind her.

    --- --- ---

“Naruto…Naruto! …LISTEN TO ME GAKI!” Tsunade whacked the blond youth with a thick binder full of files against his skull.

“Ow!! Son of a- damn it Baa-chan! That’s was a bit uncalled for!” Naruto yelled at the other blonde. He kept rubbing the side of his head, checking his fingers for blood every few seconds.

“If you would stop staring off into space and listen; bad things wouldn’t happen to you!” she retorted.

She had called Naruto in to speak with him about the plans she, Homura, and the old bat; because Tsunade really could not stand Koharu, came up with regarding Naruto and his future.

Tsunade was already in a foul mood because of Koharu’s nagging, then some unlucky Anbu bastard had woke her out of her sleep. Shizune wouldn’t give her the keys to unlock the cabinet with her stash of sake and then Naruto had to make a ‘dynamic’ entry through her window, breaking the glass. Yet he somehow came out of the mess scratch free.

It was a good way to start the day.

“Now, this is very important Naruto. If you still continue to have any dreams of becoming a warrior and then Hokage, than me and the old bag of bones have dug up some valuable information concerning you.”

Naruto was listening carefully to Tsunade’s every word.

“You’ll be attending the Konoha University High Private Academy. When April gets here you will be attending in your Sophomore Year. As there is only two ways to get into this prestigious institute either by acquiring high excellent scores on entrance exams or by paying for tuition.”

“You- You’re sending me to some snobby ass private school!? How are you so sure I’m going to get in there! I don’t have much money to even buy a poor pot to piss in! And screw entrance exams! You’ve seen how terrible I did when trying to re-enter my old high school!”

“I’m very aware of that!” she yelled and he shut up.

“You won’t be taking entrance exams, if that was the case, you’ll be preparing for repeating freshmen year!” Tsunade then slapped a huge manila envelope on her desk, making some bills and coins slip out.

“This is what we will be using to get you in.”

Naruto looked on an awe at the money laying innocently on top of Tsunade’s desk,

“Where did you get all this loot from?”

“I told you Homura, Koharu, and I have been working on a way to get you settled. This isn’t all of it, but this is from your inheritance.”

Naruto looked at the fifth Hokage like she was insane.

    “I have an inheritance?”

“Yes, not from your parents however…we still do not know much about whom they were Naruto…” she trailed off, clearly adverting her eyes away from the whiskered face boy.

Naruto didn’t understand her slight nervousness about the subject so let the moment slide.

“Then who the hell left me an inheritance? Was it Jiisan?”

    Tsunade shook her head no.

“No it’s not from Sarutobi, it’s from an anonymous benefactor who wishes to remain a mystery. All they said was is to make sure to give all full rights of their assets over to you when you had turned sixteen.

However because of the slight trouble we had with council and the passing of the Third; it was forgotten about. Thankfully the three of us rediscovered this before the new school year started. It turns out that the money from your inheritance is what kept you from being completely out on the streets. We will help you get yourself financially stable also-”

She turned tense brown eyes on him.

“You will no longer be living in Kinshou-Ha district.”

    “What!?”

This was clearly a shock to Naruto. How was he going to leave Kinshou-Ha? That was the only place in the world that served the best damn tasty ramen ever! He couldn’t leave Kinshou-Ha, Yazuka and living in the slums his ass! He wasn’t departing from Ichiraku’s for nothing!

Tsunade’s eye twitched and a vein throbbed on her forehead. She was practically restraining herself to be patient. She was coming close to hitting the crap out of Naruto for being so dense. The boy did do a lot of maturing, but old habits were hard to die.

Naruto knew not to argue with her, he saw her hand balled up and break a piece of wood from her desk. He was moving from Kinshou-Ha. Maybe he’ll be able to get Teuchi to move his shop closer to where he lived?

“You’ll be moving to the outskirts of Konoha city to a town called Hareha. There is an old home there that belonged to your benefactor who is now giving it over to you. You’ll be closer to your new school from there.”

“And also out of trouble by staying away from district Kinshou-Ha,” she thought to herself.

That was one district she had problems with getting under control. Much worked was needed to go into fixing the housing problems and to deal with the gangs that ran the streets.

“Oh, before I forget Naruto, here this letter is for you. You were supposed to have read it on your sixteenth birthday last year. It’s specifically for your eyes only…literally. Read it once you moved into your new home but before you start the new school year. It’s the wishes of your anonymous benefactor…”

    --- ---

Naruto had woken up from a dreamless memory. He had been thinking about the last few weeks when he talked to Baa-chan about the move and his inheritance.

It was late into the night, had to be eleven o’clock. He had worked all day on just cleaning the floors and he succeeded. All week had been a work week, Naruto never remembered doing so much cleaning in his life.

Tomorrow he could soon start working on getting some furniture, a bed to start out with.

Living in Hareha wasn’t too bad as he first thought. His first day here, he became friends with some cute girls and became entranced by the pretty strawberry hair girl, Sakura.

Then of course there had been this Uchiha prick who walked around like he owned the damn place. That guy got on his nerves so bad, Naruto had this urge to punch him repeatedly in the face.

He wasn’t too sure about this guy named Neji, he seemed to be a pompous ass just like the Uchiha bastard.

This whole mystery surrounding his benefactor had him on edge. Ever since he found out about it, it wouldn’t leave his mind. He never did get around to opening the letter and the new school year was just a few days away.

“Benefactor huh? Who the hell could be doing this all for me?” He stretched his back muscles and arms. His eyes staring at the lilac envelope with tiny writing.

“Maybe the answer lies in that letter?”

Not able to stay curious any longer, Naruto snatched the letter from off his night stand and rip the lilac paper to shreds. He unfolded the letter and began reading.

Hello and Happy Sixteenth Birthday Naru-chan!!

Hehe, I guess I can’t call you that anymore huh? I bet you made an unsavory face when you read that ne? Well I hope that you are enjoying your birthday today and that life has been treating you fairly.

Hmm I’m sure despite circumstance with the Kyuubi that you have made good friends there in your hometown of Konoha. I’m sorry, but I naturally worry about you kid. I do double for your dear mother; Kami rest her soul.

I have no doubt in my mind that you have been excelling in your academics and been keeping up with your training.

I would have sent a picture of us along with this letter but for the sake of your safety as well as my own I left it alone. You probably forgot how I looked or even who I am. I did leave Konoha when you were a toddler. Please do not think badly of me Naruto-kun. It was a hard decision for me to battle with. I wanted to take you with me to where I was going to. I also didn’t want to leave you alone here in Konoha, I wanted to stay but circumstanced prevented me and my child from staying there. If you ask Jii-san about it I’m sure he would gladly explain it to you more in detail.

I’m positive that he will have someone who will gladly be patient in helping you take care of getting your inheritance stable. There is just more than the money and the old dojo I left behind for you since unfortunately your parents weren’t able to do it for you. However, the rest of your assets are with me. I was not privy to leaving these especially behind in Konoha even with Jii-san. But they are vital to your further training.

I will be more than happy to give these items to you through my daughter who will attend your school this coming spring if circumstances allow it. If for whatever reason she can’t, she will be further instructed about what to do. These are not things that ever belonged to me, but have in fact belonged to your parents. When she arrives, she will give these things to you.

I think that about covers everything for now.

Please take care of yourself Naruto-kun. I’m sure that you have become a handsome young man. I wish you could write me back, I really want to know if you got yourself a pretty girlfriend at this time.

    Much Love,

    Your Benefactor

    K.K.

“Daughter?! How the hell am I supposed to know who to look for if you don’t give me any clues damn it!” He cried and then he sighed.

“Hmm…I had to have known him or her a long time ago right…” he looked back over the letter and deadpanned. “It is definitely a she.”

No self respecting man would ever write a letter that…girly.

“Blah! I can’t remember there being anyone else, this is just a lost cause! Onjin-sama!”

The only thing he had going for him was; it was a woman, she had a daughter his age, and her initials were K.K. He supposed she had good reason for not sending a picture of herself or her daughter.

Oh and apparently she knew the old man and thinks he’s still alive but also is the only person to reveal knowing his parents and hitting him with the reality that they’re long since passed on from this world. She didn’t say their names, again probably for good reason.

Naruto sadly smiled, at least now he could have a little bit more closure about his folks.

He gave up for now. There wasn’t a person he could think of that would fit this person’s personality. Even though she mentioned he knew her, but he could barely remember things from when he was two years old.

“Tch, I’ll sleep on it, maybe something interesting will come to me that way.”

Little did he know his dreams were just the beginning for unlocking the mystery of his faceless benefactor. He was still tired and dozed back to sleep.

    --- --- ---
    *

It was always like this when she came here. Awkward silences, subtle glares hidden behind false smiles and light coughing.

Right now as the dark red head teen silently moved her steak around with a chopstick, it was silent around the table, save for the few restrained chuckles coming from the two younger children.

When they saw the piercing glare from their mother, they quickly were silenced.

Karui attempted to try to eat a mouthful of rice. It was very cold, but she needed to do anything to keep herself from looking at the intimidating dark honeyed blonde woman in front of her.

That same woman, getting tired of staring at Karui play with her food, snapped at her with a clipped tone, “If all you are going to do is pick at it, don’t force yourself to eat it and pretend you like it. I don’t have expenses to be wasting food because of you.”

Karui ignored the pretty short haired blonde with dark red eyes and continued stuffing her mouth with cold rice.

Omoi stole a glance at his half sister, feeling the tension building the longer Karui stubbornly refused to speak to his mother.

“It’s only by the grace of 'my' late husband that I generously do my best to look out for you.”

Karui frowned deeply, she looked at Omoi who sat by his mother’s side. His face was completely blank as he ate. The emphasis on ‘my’ wasn’t lost to Karui.

“What with that whore of a mother you have, currently in that depressing condition she’s in.”

The young girl visibly flinched but refused to bite back. It would just give the woman more of an excuse to condescend her. The ruby eyed dark skinned woman took a small bite of her food and smirked at the golden eyed teenager.

“Don’t have anything to say?” she sneered at Karui, “Usually you’re quick to open that foul mouth of yours. I suppose a foul mouth for a tomboy is better. You have no figure and lady like qualities to speak of that unfortunately no man will ever come to rid me of you!”

Karui glared openly at the dirty blonde. Was she deluded? A barely half assed cooked meal, which Karui knew without a doubt was purposely set aside for her, was not considered looking out for her best interests.

She didn’t even live under the same roof as them.

“Instead of an undesirable wild girl, Kusandi should have had a boy instead,” her grin widened at Karui’s will to keep her anger in check.

“Then again, things could be worse…you could have turned out like your mother.”

Karui slammed her fists on the table, making the china and food shake. One of the glasses at the corner, shattered to pieces on the floor.

She got up with a burst of uncontained fury and flung the sickly half cooked meal in her bowl against the side of the wall, breaking the pottery and staining the wall with sauce.

Omoi widened his eyes a faction, putting his own bowl down to look between the angry girl and his self-righteous mother. His other siblings had silently looked on with worry and scared looks.

    “TO HELL WITH YOU!”

With that, Karui stomped off, grabbing her sneaks and opening the front door of Omoi’s home with a loud bang.

“Don’t come back here again! You’re no longer welcome! And I’ll be expecting some form of payment for my dishes you broke, my tableware doesn’t come cheap!”

Karui just turned slightly to face the other woman who looked ready to kill her. She was sure her face was full of loathing for her as well.

“If you hate me that much, you stop pretending to act like you’re doing me a favor!”

The blond male, set his empty bowl aside and stuck a lollipop in his mouth going after his angry sibling who slammed the door closed with great force.

“Omoi, you can’t be serious about following her can you?” The pretty conniving woman looked at him with disbelief.

He looked at his mother with mild annoyance, “As much as you hate it, she is still my sister-

    “Half!” she growled, “Half sister.”

“And you did start this,” he said without a second thought to his mother’s off put attitude. He walked out of the small dinning room connected to the front of the house.

“Then stop lying and telling her to come here!”

Omoi watched his mother get up from the table to pick up the dirty dishes and motioning to his younger brothers to help her. When the dark honeyed blonde was out of sight, he left out of the house.

Where he found Karui already taking a stroll down the darkened street heading home. He followed after her.

Karui was well aware of him walking behind her at a distance and it was starting to annoy her.

“Go away!” she yelled without turning around.

“But the streetlights are off, and it’s hard to see if someone was to come after you from behind, and you’re too disgruntled to really paid attention to your surroundings, so someone would succeed. On top of that you didn’t bring your sword-

“Damn it, are you serious?” she cut him off, rubbing her head where a small headache was forming.

“Yes, one can never be too sure,” he responded, twirling his rainbow sugary treat in his mouth.

“You’re just making things worse by getting me more angry!”

The short haired blond, watched his half sibling pick up her pace to put more distance between them.

“You’re just naturally an angry person,” he said nonchalantly.

“I don’t see how I could make it worse.”

She paused in mid step, dirtied white sneakers stomping the cement walkway.

“You make it worse by pretending to care! I know you don’t so stop it!” she yelled.

“Do us both a favor and leave me the hell alone! I’ll do one too by staying faraway unless absolutely necessary!”

Karui then sped off towards home, leaving Omoi there to watch her go.

Instead of going after her, he turned back around to his house, twirling the pop in his mouth. One though ringed through his mind as he made the first step up the porch.

    “Am I really only pretending?”

    --- --- ---

Three days later when Uzumaki Naruto came barging through the sliding doors of classroom 2-7A, making a self proclaiming entrance.

Hinata, Ino, Sakura, and Tenten knew that trouble would only follow for the rest of their lives onward.

“YO!” The loud shout had definitely captured the attention of the entire class.

Many whispers went around the room then. Everyone very curious about the new guy who dressed up like he was in some kind of gang. For one, he surely didn’t look like he was Elite Private Academy material.

He had on a long black trench coat with an orange swirl on the back and orange flames at the bottom. He wore it over his school uniform. A crisp orange dress shirt with the first two buttons open to reveal the necklace he was given from the fifth Hokage. His neck tie with the Konoha symbol on it was missing. The final part of his uniform was pair of black slacks that looked a size too big on him; held up by an orange belt. The long sleeves of his coat were folded up to his elbows. He had a black head band with the same orange swirl on it over his forehead tied in the back. He wore white sneakers.

Putting down the white chalk after writing his name in big bold hiragana and katakana on the board, he turned around to his new classmates.

    “THE NAME’S UZUMAKI NARUTO!!”

Once the blond with the whiskered face announced himself, the whispers turned up in volume then.

That name was infamous. Not just from Kinshou-Ha from where he came but all over Fire Country. Even the quartet who sort of became acquainted with the juvenile few days prior were amazed that such a guy could cause such mayhem.

“So what? Who cares! You’re still the same idiot from back then!”

Naruto turned his attention an older yet familiar face smirking at him.

The blond’s face instantly broke out in a grin, “DOG BREATH!? What the hell you doing at this snooty rich kid school!?”

“Heh! That’s what I should be asking you! How’s it hangin’ Naruto?” Kiba asked while sitting on top of his desk.

The two long time friends exchanged a high five with each other.

“Hehe, Tsunade baachan’s forcing me to come here, but if I’m going to be taking her place soon as Hokage I gotta.”

Naruto looked around the room, “Hey Kiba, does Chouji and Shikamaru go here too?”

“Yea, though he and Chouji always come late. Our sensei however is not even here yet. I wonder who our homeroom teacher is this year.”

“Beats me,” Naruto found himself spotting Sakura’s surprised face and he smirked. He quickly walked over to the desk she was sitting at, surrounded by Ino, and some other girls he didn’t know.

    “Hey Sakura-chan!”

“H-hi Naruto, eheheheheh,” her smile looked more like a painful grimace. Inside she was fuming.

“Not only does he live here, he has to come to my school too! But that couldn’t just be enough could it? Oh no! He has to be in MY class in the school for eight hours!”

“So this is pretty cool eh? Us being in the same class!”

“Yea…pretty cool,” Sakura glared threateningly at Ino and the other girls who were laughing behind their hands at her expense.

“At least we have one less competition to worry about now over Sasuke-kun now that Sakura’s too busy with her new boyfriend!”

“I dare you to say that again Ino!” Sakura yelled, standing up from her seat and completely ignoring Naruto behind her.

    “Sakura-chan?”

    “Good morning Naruto-kun.”

Naruto turned from the cherry blossom to Hinata who smiled at him, he smiled back and she blushed.

    “Morning Hinata-chan!”

“You’re a magnet for trouble aren’t you Uzumaki Naruto?” Tenten smiled at the blond. She and Hinata were sitting down at their seats. Tenten was over looking a sketch Hinata drew since the start of homeroom.

“Aww Ten-chan, I’m not that bad!”

“That’s what I keep telling them but they refuse to listen to me Naruto-kun.”

“Thanks for having my back Hinata-chan.”

Their conversation was short lived when two of the biggest pricks Naruto’s ever met came walking into class 2-7A.

Hyuuga Neji and Uchiha Sasuke were talking low amongst themselves until Sasuke’s fanclub squealed, racing towards him.

“Good morning Sasuke-kun!” Ino yelled, out racing the other girls to get to Sasuke first.

Sakura without a care, knocked Naruto out of her way to make it over to him as well.

And by fan club, it was all of the females in the class, with the exception of Tenten and Hinata. Both girls slightly giggled at Neji’s uncomfortable level at being nearly bombarded by a sea of feminine bodies trying to tear away at his fellow classmate.

Neji quietly excused himself, going to head for a seat way in the back on the right side corner of the room. From the noise volume, it was clear that their homeroom teacher for the year was not here yet. It was well past twenty-five minutes into homeroom and no sign of the teacher.

Naruto only glared in Sasuke’s direction, clearly annoyed with the Uchiha. Sasuke’s face was impassive as he walked to sit down at one of the empty desks in the classroom even though he had the high pitch sounds of a annoying females fawning over him.

Their voices could almost be synonymous with chidori…almost.

When he made eye contact with Naruto he visibly frowned and turned his head away from him.

Nothing got pass the girls who looked at Naruto and glared. He was obviously the cause of Sasuke’s growing annoyance.

“Why the hell I gotta be in a classroom with this prick!?” Naruto yelled at Sasuke.

The jet haired teen just stood instead, staring intensely at Naruto. He was aiming to set his books on the table, but Ino grabbed them instead and did it herself all the while blushing in his direction.

“I didn’t believe this Academy could sink low into letting low lives attend here. Obviously I was wrong.”

Naruto grabbed the boy by the collar, “You wanna throw down bastard?! Then let’s go!”

Sasuke knocked Naruto’s hands from off his person, straightening his neck tie and taking off his navy blue blazer.

Which again was taken to be held by Yamanaka Ino. The other girls were getting put off with her but she didn’t care.

Sasuke smirked, “With pleasure, let’s do this.”

“And what is it that we’re going to do now?”

The entire class went deathly silent and all eyes turned to a tall young older man with silver hair covering one eye and wearing a mask over the bottom part of his face. He had on a white tee underneath his white button up dress shirt, gray slacks, and a black belt, black suspenders and a pair of black leather shoes.

He had a small orange novel in his hand opened to a page. It was clearly a novel for mature readers since it had to red plus eighteen stamped on the cover.

“You must be Hatake Kakashi, our homeroom teacher,” said Neji.

Kakashi nodded his head towards the Hyuuga prodigy.

“I seemed to have come later than necessary, any later and I might have ended up with witnessing two of my students brawling on the floor. Isn’t that right, Uzumaki Naruto? Uchiha Sasuke?”

Behind the mask, the silver haired man smiled with humor.

The two boys glared at each other before looking away huffing.

“So this is the boy Tsunade-sama said so much about. Maa…he certainly knows how to demand attention when he wants too.”

“This is going to be an interesting year…I’m fortunate to have such a rowdy bunch. I may actually be in the mood to teach this time around.”

    --- ---

So how you like it so far? Not ready to roll your heads in despair yet? XD

Yea, yea I know. Some things in this will have some events from the canonical time line while others will not. Otherwise this wouldn’t be called fanfiction ne?

Okay so for the names of the towns/districts I came up for places in Konoha.

Kinshou-Ha; the place Naruto grew up is of course the most dangerous part of downtown center city Konoha it roughly means ‘little-leaf’.

Hareha- Where the majority of everyone lives, is the quaint, quiet very rich elite part of Konoha. Name meaning is Sunny leaf.

Junsei-Ha which is a district in uptown urban Konoha, means ‘Pure Leaf’. It’s obviously the most clean and more expensive upscale part of the city.

Uwaha: ‘outer leaf’ is the district Teuchi and Ayame live which is further down from Kinshou-Ha.

    Oh yea Onjin (is benefactor)

    …yea….I’m so damn original LOL.

Also…I write too damn much…*uploads this and then goes to sleep*.

Well regardless I hoped you guys enjoyed it…or not.

    Until next time!
