Neji hated parties. He didn’t necessarily hate people…well, not all people, really. But he thought that having so many people in the same place at the same time was ridiculous. Most of his friends loved it, he could see from their excited glow as they flitted amongst each other, chatting and laughing and generally having a good time. Neji never felt like he belonged in this relaxed sort of scene. It was amazing, even his teammate Lee, who was a complete oddity in Neji’s opinion, was able to fit in and have a good time in these situations. And then, Sasuke, who Neji felt had a
rather…similar disposition to his own when it came to social interaction, had once also been very uncomfortable whenever the group decided to have a get together.
However, it seemed that Naruto had completely cured him of his disdain for mingling with other people. While he was not by any means a social butterfly, Sasuke seemed…somehow different ever since Naruto and him had started dating. It was as though he was almost…happy? Seeing the last Uchiha look content, rather than ready to stab the next person who interrupted his angsty brooding was very odd, and it had taken some getting used to for Neji. He thought of Sasuke as one of his closest
friends, but when he really thought about it, he did not know very much about the Uchiha. They were both men of few words, so they didn’t exactly have sleepovers where they stayed up all night gossiping and painting each others’ toenails. Although…
Neji closed his eyes and concentrated on being annoyed with everyone in the room. He was happy for Naruto and Sasuke. He really was. In his own, very unique way. And if he still desperately wanted to bend Sasuke over and fuck him until he screamed, that was all right. It was a private thought, and many people surely had thoughts that they would never act on, or have the chance to act on. He knew he didn’t love Sasuke, and
he knew that Naruto did. It was obvious from the ridiculously dopey grin on the blonde ninja’s face when he talked to his boyfriend. But Neji remained quietly confident that if love had not been a factor, Sasuke certainly would have chosen him. He was much more attractive than Naruto, who was, admittedly, very adorable in his own way. But Neji didn’t want a cuddly bunny. He wanted a challenge. He wanted someone who could make his blood boil with a glance. He wanted to be able to take something that no one else could have and mark it as his own. And the temptation of Uchiha Sasuke, cold, aloof, imperturbable, and completely untouchable…the thought of him crying out in lust…
No, don’t think of something like that. It’s pointless now, and in any case, I’ll just get hard thinking of his face twisting up like that…his body under me, completely dominated…
Neji opened his eyes, trying to banish the image before his situation got worse. He was already half hard thinking about it, and he really didn’t want to make an ass of himself, even if he did hate parties. He was able to let go of the imagined tryst, but he felt a flush of heat over his whole body as he recalled the one intimate moment he had shared with Sasuke. Last year, when he had realized that something was going on between Naruto and Sasuke beyond their friendship, he had panicked, and telling himself the reason was that he was in love with the Uchiha. That had to be the reason that he was so attracted to a man, he was sure. He hadn’t explained anything; he’d simply ambushed Sasuke and kissed the other man until he couldn’t breathe, thinking that would settle things. He had learned two lessons from that. Firstly, there was a different between love and lust. He may like looking at Sasuke, but Sasuke had made things clear by pushing him away and punching him so hard he’d thought his whole face would be broken. Luckily, it wasn’t.
Secondly, he was very definitely gay. Lucky he wasn’t the heir to the Hyuuga clan, because he wasn’t sure they would really be too thrilled to have their precious heir turn out to be gay. Hinata’s father had threatened to disown her when she started dating Kiba, who he said came from an inferior family, but Neji hadn’t really seen the trouble. At least she could produce heirs, which he assumed was the main concern. Of course, the Hyuuga’s feelings hadn’t really gone over too well with the Inuzuka clan, and Neji had thought that a blood feud might erupt between the two clans, when Hinata managed to settle the matter somehow, meeting with her father and Kiba’s father, and apparently using her strong penchant for compromise to bring them all to an agreement. When he asked her how she had gotten both of these men to bend, she only shrugged and smiled. He wished he could have her gift for diplomacy. Maybe then he wouldn’t have jumped Sasuke out of the blue, but instead maybe tried to talk with him. In hindsight, that seemed like a better idea. He wondered if Sasuke had ever mentioned the incident to Naruto, and he wasn’t sure. After all, Naruto still seemed to get along with him just fine and didn’t seem jealous or protective of Sasuke, but he was a rather forgiving guy. However, Sasuke had never said a word to Neji about what had happened that day, and he was sure that even though he still recalled that moment with undeniable pleasure, it had probably been nothing more than business as usual for Sasuke, who had been chased by fan girls practically since he could walk.
Amazing that someone who could have his pick of anyone in Konoha, possibly anyone in the world, had chosen to be with Uzumaki Naruto.
He wasn’t anywhere near Sasuke as far as looks went. However, Neji realized this was clearly love, and it must be the personality that mattered to Sasuke. Neji supposed if you had to choose just one person to spend the rest of your life with, you could do worse than Naruto. He had a way of making everyone happy, and everyone became his friend easily. He was like a human magnet, and he drew everyone to him, changing their life and their way of thinking. Even Neji had not been immune to him, and he
had to admit, even though he seriously wanted to steal Naruto’s boyfriend and have his way with him, he was forever indebted to the blonde. He knew that he would really never do anything to intervene now that he knew what he felt for Sasuke was nothing to what Naruto felt, and what Sasuke felt for him.
Neji sighed and wondered if he would ever find someone who could wipe away his desire for the completely unattainable Uchiha. It really wasn’t dignified that an attractive, powerful ninja from a great family was spending his nights wondering what sort of things Naruto and Sasuke did, and if Sasuke was the bottom. In Neji’s daydreams, he certainly was. It wasn’t like Sasuke was the only good-looking man in all of Konoha. But there was something about him that completely destroyed Neji’s dignified exterior and made him do stupid things. Like jump him in the forest like
he was a dog in heat. Speaking of which…
“Kiba!” his tone was sharp, and as expected, the younger ninja yelped in a very dog-like way and leapt about two feet in the air. “Hands.” He wasn’t positive that Kiba had been groping Hinata, as he hadn’t been watching carefully, but Kiba knew enough about the Hyuuga eyes and about Neji’s
temper to just do as he was told and be on his best behavior. Besides that, it was actually rather funny to see Kiba look so completely terrified.
“Neji, Kiba was not doing anything he shouldn’t.” Hinata came close enough to speak to her cousin, dragging her rather reluctant boyfriend along with her. “You shouldn’t be mean to him all the time.”
“What’s going on?” Naruto came over, with Sasuke trailing behind him a few steps. Neji imagined that if things had gone another way, and if he had forced himself on Naruto, he probably wouldn’t be alive at that moment. Naruto may be carefree and trusting, but Sasuke seemed to be very possessive. It had been Sasuke who had wanted the blonde to move in with him, and Naruto who had agreed. Neji imagined it was also Sasuke who had made the first move. Maybe Sasuke was the top, after all…
“Neji’s on my case again!” Kiba whined, and Hinata patted his arm reassuringly. She seemed much more confident now that she had a boyfriend, especially since he was completely devoted to her every whim. In the wrong hands, Kiba could have turned a girl into an absolute tyrant. Luckily, his attitude was just what Hinata needed to boost her own confidence. “He’s such a mother hen!”
Neji bristled at this. He did not approve of being called names and demeaned in such a fashion. He was in no way motherly, and he did not approve of any implications otherwise. “I am simply helping to defend Hinata-sama’s honor.” He replied in his most dignified tone.
“I wasn’t even doing anything!” Kiba threw up his hands in protest, and Naruto’s face screwed up in thought.
“Okay, well, obviously, the problem is that Neji’s jealous cause you’re getting action and he’s not.” Naruto surmised. Neji straightened his back as much as possible, rising to his full height as though this might intimidate Naruto and make him take those words back. It was completely unfair for someone who was sleeping with one of the most gorgeous men in all of Konoha to give others a bad time for not being able to slake their own appetites. Perhaps if they hadn’t been so greedy and taken one of the best-looking ninja, then Neji would be getting action, and plenty of it, thank you very much. It just wasn’t right.
“I think you’re probably right.” Kiba attempted to look serious, but burst out laughing, spoiling this very thoroughly. “Yeah, Neji, if you could just get laid, maybe you wouldn’t always be acting like you had a stick up your ass!”
“You guys…that’s not nice.” Hinata flushed and looked at Kiba pleadingly. He attempted to stop laughing, which was something at least.
Neji glared at Sasuke, as if challenging him to say something. If anyone here knew why Neji wasn’t currently in a relationship, it was Sasuke, who even if he knew nothing else, probably had some idea that Neji’s dating standards were not exactly in the same line as what the others might expect.
“You know, Neji, you should go out with Tenten!” Naruto slapped his friend on the back, and Neji transferred the glare to the blonde. He liked Naruto, but sometimes he really got aggravating. He wondered if Sasuke just punched his lights out every time he got sick of his boisterous attitude. “I think she has a crush on you, she’d be really excited if you asked her.”
“I don’t think that would work.” Neji answered in a very tight tone. He would not get angry. Naruto clearly had no idea what he was talking
about, which Neji surmised was almost always the case. That way, he could amaze everyone when he said something that wasn’t utterly idiotic. He was pretty sure it was staged in that way.
“No, I think that’s a good idea!” Kiba punched his hand excitedly. “Hey! Hey Tenten! Hey, c’mere!” he waved across the room at the girl, who had been talking to Temari about something or other. After all, the reason Naruto had declared they needed a party was because the sand siblings had all come to Konoha for a ceremony celebrating the anniversary of the
alliance between Konoha and Sunagakure. Kankurou was apparently having some sort of drinking contest with Chouji, and he could hear Ino
claiming that she would take on the winner, but Gaara was nowhere to be seen. That was typical, though. The Kazekage had changed a lot since he had first met Naruto, but he didn’t seem to like parties any more than Neji.
“What’s going on?” Tenten actually came over, which Neji had privately been hoping she would just refuse to do, since she hated being ordered around. However, apparently it didn’t count as ordering since they were having a “fun” party. Temari came with her, increasing his feeling of being surrounded so that Neji began searching for an escape path. He now regretted his habit of standing in a corner where he was less noticeable. It
also made it easier to be…well, cornered, it seemed.
“You have a thing for Neji, right?” Kiba asked. At this point, even Naruto seemed to see that this was not really acceptable behavior, and he was chuckling and scratching the back of his head nervously. Sasuke seemed to find the whole thing entertaining, however. He would. “Cause we think he needs to get laid, and we thought you could—“ any further comment was cut off by Neji’s fingers hitting him precisely on the throat, momentarily rendering him speechless and breathless as the area went lax.
“Neji!” Hinata frowned at her cousin as Kiba struggled to breathe and found there was very little he could do but wait out the strike’s effects. Kiba was not very patient, so he was flailing around in a panic as Hinata attempted to calm him. “I know he should not have said those things,
but you shouldn’t attack your friends.”
“I think this time he was defending Tenten’s honor.” Naruto pointed out and Neji shrugged.
“My hand slipped.” He used the gap created by Kiba’s struggles and Hinata easing him over to a seat to leave the area, and the whole room. He really did hate parties. It was odd how he could say that all of those people were his friends, and yet, he did not like to be around so many of them all at once. He supposed he was not cut out for such high level socializing. He opened a door at random and found himself in a raised path between buildings. Neji considered exploring the Uchiha compound, since surely no one would come looking for him, and it seemed a waste to have to come to these parties all the time and never get to see anything but Sasuke’s house. Maybe he should go check out Sasuke’s bedroom…
No, remember, none of that. He reminded himself that Sasuke was not really someone he should be trying to lure into dark corners. This was very hard to remember. Sasuke should really let himself go now that he was in a relationship. That way, no one would be forced to find him attractive.
Still, there was really nothing wrong with just looking around the house a little, seeing some of the other rooms. Feeling as though he was doing nothing wrong, Neji turned and re-entered the house, this time turning and following the different passages a while. He figured Sasuke’s house couldn’t be that large, so his bedroom wouldn’t be too difficult to find.
After a few other rooms that really held very little interest to Neji—a bathroom, a library, a storage closet—he stumbled upon his objective, and a smug grin tilted his lips as he stepped further into the room. His fingers found the light switch, but he didn’t turn it on, as the moonlight coming in from the window gave him a good enough idea of the appearance of the room. He could see the sheets were rumpled, and he could smell the musty scent of semen in the air. So they were having sex. And clearly, they must have done it right before everyone showed up for the smell to still linger. Neji moved forward slightly, not sure what he was doing until he found himself in the bed, pressing his nose into a pillow that smelled strongly of Sasuke. The smell and the mental images were all too much, and Neji found he was completely hard, and he knew that if he wanted to be able to leave the room, he’d need to take care of it. Although, knowing he was in Sasuke’s bed, it really wouldn’t take that long for him to finish.
He reached down and under the dividing layer of his robes, reaching into the pants underneath and letting out a soft moan as his fingers closed around the shaft. He bit his lip as he began moving his hand, not bothering to waste time. He just wanted to be done with this, and then, maybe then…
Maybe I can stop thinking of Sasuke this way. I’ll never be his friend if all I can think of is how much I want to fuck him.
That opened the floodgates to a slew of mental images, and Neji could feel he was close. Just a few more seconds and—
“Neji?” he gasped in alarm as he realized that someone else was now in the room. He squinted, but the moon was in his eyes, and he was sure they could see him much better than he could see them.
“What do you want?” his voice was annoyed, but it was also husky. He was still hard, and he was afraid to even move his hand, because if they didn’t already know what he’d been doing here in Sasuke’s bed, they’d probably have a pretty good idea when they saw him pull his hand out of his pants.
“I just wanted…” they stepped forward, and from the silhouette and the voice, he realized it was Tenten. “I wanted to say that I…well, I really always have had a thing for you…and if you…if you really feel the same about me…”
Neji wasn’t sure what made him do it. He was horny, he was frustrated, and he desperately wanted not to want Sasuke’s body anymore. It just seemed so opportune, and before he knew it, he had reached up and pulled her down on the bed, pulling his hand out of his pants in the same movement so she wouldn’t notice.
“Neji, I don’t know if we should—“ he covered her mouth with his, kissing her hard, the way he’d kissed Sasuke, and grinding his erection against her. This would be much more suitable. Not only was she not dating one of his friends, Tenten was a girl. Really, his family should be ecstatic that he was making these efforts. “N—neji…I don’t really…I’m not…please don’t!” she finally pushed him away, and for his part, he didn’t resist. He had been trying, he’d put his full effort into it, but the fact that this was Tenten made it just…a bit weird. He felt like he was trying to make out with his sister or something. He wondered if he was doomed to feel this way about all girls, or if it was just because they’d known each other so long.
“I’m sorry.” He told her. He was still half-hard, but he was sure it wouldn’t show, so he straightened his clothes and fled the room, with Tenten calling after him to wait.
