Summary: There are easier ways to die. Sakura discovers how and has a
little glimpse on Sasuke and Naruto’s relationship.
Notes: This is a limey-lemonish fic, and might be disturbing for some.
Run now. SasuNaru and as Aurian said, it should be about Sakura’s POV on Sasuke
and Naruto’s relationship after finding out about it by way of catching them
kissing, holding hands, or sleeping together. ^_^ Written for the Truth or
Drabble challenge in SasuNaru_Writers Groups.
Sorry if that was
bit long-winded. Now, here’s the drabble. I hope I got this right.
There are easier ways to die;
being burned alive is not one of them.
Sakura wiped her mouth with a
cool, damp towel, running her tongue across the roof of her mouth. The bitter
taste of bile still lingered, but only a faint tinge of it. She braced her arms
against the porcelain washbasin as she raised her head. She willed her nausea
to go away, but the image of the man consumed by flames, slowly burning to a
crisp as the air around them smelled of roast flesh still turned her stomach.
The man had been screaming until the smoke mercifully choked the air out of
him, but his burned face, and the way he writhed in pain, twisting this way and
that, and his final terrible gasp before he fell and–
Sakura shuddered and shook her
head. The man had been a missing-nin with countless crimes to his name, and he
deserved the fate Sasuke had given him. But still–
Sakura sighed. As she left the
bathroom and picked up her report of the mission, she wished she could put the
matter behind as easily as Sasuke and Naruto could, but she wasn’t quite as
cold-blooded as the two when it came to stuff like this.
The thought of the two suddenly
brought another image into mind, not quite as horrible as the man burning
alive, but just as shocking. One night, when she had come into the Hokage’s
office to give a report (Naruto liked to receive the reports in person), she
found the Rokudaime and Sasuke kissing on the desk.
And they weren’t just kissing,
mind! Naruto’s Hokage robes were spread out on the desk, clothes, papers and
whatnots scattered on the floor, and Sasuke, bare skin glowing in the
moonlight, leaned over him, nipping, kissing and–and–oh gods–and Naruto was
writhing, twisting like the man on fire, but quite differently. His fingers dug
into the desk as Sasuke began to move–no, thrust–into him, and Naruto was
screaming, screaming in a high, whining voice, begging Sasuke to stop and
Sasuke was gasping, whispering something Sakura couldn’t catch and then they
were arching against each other and shuddered, their faces contorted in
pleasure. For a moment, they were still as death and with a final, heavy groan,
they collapsed, Sasuke on top of Naruto. The pungent scent sweat and sex filled
the room.
Sakura covered her hot cheeks
with her hands at the memory. She had stood there for a few minutes or so, not
being able to move or say a thing. Sasuke and Naruto. Oh god. Her mind exploded
at the realization. Yes, she knew about their bond; she wouldn’t be the
smartest girl in their class if she hadn’t figured out the strong link between
Naruto and Sasuke. Whether they were enemies or friends, they consumed each
other’s lives with that bond, and often Sakura felt they lived in a world
separate from her own. She certainly felt that way whenever the three of them
were together.
And yet, she hoped that Sasuke
would eventually come to love her. She had waited for so long, like the
faithful woman waiting for the return of her one true love in the stories she
read. Love for Sasuke consumed her life; she’d loved Sasuke for so long and
given up so much for him. Surely she would be rewarded.
Then she saw them together,
devouring each other. That day, she felt something inside of her die. It hurt.
It still does, a knife twisting into her heart every time she remembered, every
time she saw them side-by-side, talking about missions or arguing about silly
things. And maybe it hurt more because she knew, she knew deep inside that
things were going to be this way, and she had just been deluding herself. And
that she knew that things were better this way.
The worst part of it came after
she saw them. Naruto was apologizing at every turn, telling her not to be angry
with Sasuke, and to be angry with him instead because it was his fault. But Sasuke
was defiant, and there was no trace of regret on his face. He would look at her
with cool, polite eyes that did not quite hide the smugness and contempt she
saw in them. Sasuke would never regret anything he did, so long as it pleased
him. He was selfish that way, Sakura realized.
And yet, when Naruto was
apologizing, Sasuke had sidled close to him, placing a protective hand on
Naruto’s back, then casually held Naruto’s hand, his eyes daring Sakura to say
anything that would hurt Naruto. That was what struck Sakura the most. Selfish
as he was, Sasuke was being protective of Naruto. He was never like that to
her.
Biting her lip, Sakura had
mumbled an apology and ran.
And when it was time for the
mission, Sasuke said nothing to her, but his eyes did the talking. Sakura had
forced herself not to think about what happened and concentrated instead on the
mission.
And now, she was on her way to
hand the report to the Hokage. She was barely a few feet away from the door
when she heard noises–Sasuke and Naruto’s voices with thumping sounds. She
nearly keeled over in shock. Could it be?
Despite herself, she tiptoed to
the door, holding her breath as she listened.
“Sasuke, you bastard, what are
you–ahn, doing? Sakura can come in any minute!”
“Hn. So? She’s seen us before?
I’m sure she enjoyed the whole thing.” His words were punctuated with loud,
thumping noises.
“Sasuke!” Naruto gasped. “Stop
it! Nnnh–Sakura loves you. It broke her heart when she–uhn–saw us!”
“I don’t care. So long as she
doesn’t break yours. Why are we talking about Sakura now?” The thumping
noises became faster and louder, and soon no words came out of Naruto, except
long, panting breaths and gasps. And with those words, all hope of her being
with Sasuke died.
Face flaming, she quietly moved
away. The report could wait. Smiling a little sadly, Sakura left.
After notes: Argh. I
don’t know where that came from. Anyway, for clarification, the “death” I was
referring to in Sasuke and Naruto’s uh, act was the le petite morte, the little
death, the orgasm. Gah. So flimsy. Sorry if it was long. And I feel sorry for
Sakura, really. XD
