I was so happy to see at least one person knows where he is. Now it's time for Naruto to get himself out of that mess. Update soon! :)

Shikamaru explained alot and brought questions with it. I almost forgot Naruto was a prisoner.lol Maybe Sasuke is really weak or losing his power somehow and is trying to mask it. I can't wait for more.X3

Kya! Another chapter! :D Oh, I love the twist the story just took with Shikamaru. For one, it ties up the loose end of what the village has been thinking since Naruto left, and for another, it sets things up so that it will have to be Naruto who has to get himself out of this situation, which I love. I think Shikamaru absolutely hit the nail on the head when he told Naruto that having to choose between Sasuke and Konoha would drive him crazy. It's canon fact that it would--the idea of it made him have a panic attack! So I think Shikamaru was right that on some level, Naruto doesn't mind his situation because it keeps him from having to make that incredibly painful decision. So now Naruto has some thinking to do.

I was surprised Shikamaru suggested that Naruto should come home and then visit Sasuke whenever he wants. Was he being sincere about that? On the one hand, I believe him since he knows about Naruto's feelings and is willing to cover for him for a while, but on the other hand, I don't believe him because he also said "Don’t go down in history as the Hokage that abandoned us for the obsessive lust of a criminal." So would Shikamaru (and more importantly, Konoha at large) be OK with Naruto going off to visit Sasuke on occasion? The situation really seems impossible for them, and in more ways than one. (As it stands now, the only way they could really be together is if one of them is a prisoner. If Sasuke were to return to Konoha, he'd be the one locked up instead.)

But I suppose "how to we find a way to be together?" is a conversation they will have to have down the road. For now, the first priority is for Naruto to find a way to get his freedom! It's discouraging that Sasuke is using Naruto's chakra to power the barrier, especially if his motivation to do so isn't an innocent one. On the plus side, Sasuke did let Naruto talk with Shikamaru instead of preventing it, so maybe there's a tiny glimmer of hope he could eventually be reasoned with and is not a complete tyrant? (But will Naruto be able to get through to him before the rest of Konoha knows Naruto is gone?) Can't wait for the next chapter!

thank heavens shika was around to give naru a dose of reality. i feel better knowing this won't have an unrealistic happy ending, since it's a tragic piece of sorts. i almost see naruto getting away but sasuke killing himself; or killing both of them. sigh ... well, can't wait to see what you do!

waahhhhh! sniff sniff... I want Naruto to be happy with Sasuke! He's 27 and if he never had a connection with anyone by now...he never will. I hate the idea of him going back to be Hokage because essentially that would be living for work. That would be a horrible lonely way to live. Everyone else having love & families & a life and Naruto just respected as a great Hokage.

Though I do want Sasuke to get rid of that stupid orb. Training together is something they both loved to do and it would be awful to lose that.

Arrgg...I know the ending will be a bit bitter because that's the way it has to be in this... I just hope Naruto makes the hard choice to stay by his own free will. (fingers crossed)

Love this!

ok...just read everyone else's reviews and all I can say is *plugging ears and squeezing eyes shut* "can't hear you can't hear you can't hear you..." I don't want to think of those scenarios *sniff sniff*. Sasuke killing Naruto and himself? Naruto leaving crazy Sasuke?

I think Shika was right...Naruto does want to stay and its easier letting Sasuke make the choice for him. The hard choice will be deciding whether to stay or go when the orb goes away. And I still hope he stays. Life is too short to spend it alone and I think he loves Sasuke more than he loves the village. And Sasuke can love him back.

Heh. Your warning/reminder makes me worried about continuing to read on! Somehow, despite everything that was so very, very wrong with the situation--the fact that Naruto is still imprisoned, that he was drunk, that Sasuke has been gone for god knows how many days doing god knows what, and that he is still crazy(!)--somehow, the encounter between them still managed to be incredibly lovely and tender. I felt so sad for Naruto when he told Sasuke about his longing for him. The way Sasuke gripped Naruto back may have indicated to Naruto that he'd felt the same way, but I'd like to see Sasuke tell Naruto about some of his own loneliness these past few years. Of course Sasuke can't pour his heart out to Naruto the way Naruto can, but in his own words, I'd really like to hear what brought him to the point where he'd even consider doing something like this. (I mean, why capture Naruto to get what he wants instead of courting him properly?) I think it would make him into a more sympathetic character if we knew a bit more about what's happened to him. (Of course, no matter what his reasons, I'd still want him to let Naruto go. I'm glad Naruto hasn't budged an inch on that point.) I'm also curious what Sasuke is thinking in relation to Naruto from the standpoint that he trusts Naruto, and yet can't seem to trust him with his freedom. What does Sasuke think would happen if he let Naruto go? Does he really believe that Naruto would abandon him now? Is he unable to trust Naruto with his heart, or is there something more to it? Can't wait for the next chapter!

Damn Shikamaru laid the smackdown ;-) If thats not a wakeup call I don't know what is. It seems like Naruto was in a haze after the lovemaking but Shika brought a dose of reality. I'm also intrigued to see if Naruto can figure out which of the 3 weaknesses that Shikamaru alluded to that Sasuke has so he could take down the barrier. The story just took a nice twist and I'm glad that Naruto won't take all this without a fight. Look foward to reading more!

Sasuke really has some damn nerve!!!! Naruto has made his dream come true and he comes in and does this to hime? he couldnt come home, he couldnt go to him, he had to take naruto away from everything that he loves for his own selfish reasons and once again sasuke is being a selfish bastard!!!!! on another note though, your consruction of the barrier scenario is excellent!!!! brilliant even.
