This is a really good start! I love the characterization of Kakashi and Iruka. I really like when the usually more submissive one in a relationship holds some sort of power over the other. ^_^ I know you're trying to get right down to it, but I would have liked to see what Kakashi is actually like around the other nin, Asuma and the others you mentioned.

Such a great first chapter- and I'm not a big KakaIru girl. At all. But I do love it when it's well done like this- With angst and character flaws. I especially love the passage about Iruka's eyes being the window to his soul, and Kakashi feeling as though he's been intrusive after looking into them. More please... <3

Ahhh!!!! You ended there? Damn that does make it kinda un-happy...is that really the ending?
Anywho, I loved this one as well. Your ability to put Kakashi's emotions so out there and understandable was amazing! You could feel what he was feeling and almost made me blush thinking about looking into someone's eyes such as Irukas.
