UPDATE SOONY!!!

I really wish I'd found this sooner, only so I could have been enjoying it for a longer stretch of time. Seriously though, I think your writing style is nice. Maybe not my favorite, but it's easy to understand, well-done and I think you portray the characters' personalities clearly with an economy of words. I do wish the chapters were longer, but only so I'd have more to read. I do feel like each one says just what it means to say. Anyway, you should feel priveldged I'm reviewing. Priveldged, I say! (ha-ha, I'm kidding) Seriously, though, I read a ridiculous amount of fanfiction, a lot of which is Naruto, but only sometimes write reviews. Also, I tend to avoid certain genres before even starting. And by this I mean I usually avoid any AU stories like the plague. If I even try to read one, generally I get through about three paragraphs through before I just can't take it. It's just one of those things. But yours I started reading and was instantly pulled in. In fact, this is one of two (Spiral Falling, of course being the other) that I found myself reading despite myself. Something about it just sucked me in. I think it may be a mix of the pleasant pacing (I like stories that concentrate on the relationship aspect of the characters rather than just getting them together as soon as possible) as well as the humorous aspect. I actually laughed out loud a few times as I read this, and I can tell you, that's not something I normally do. I also really like the way you write Naruto. The thing I've always liked about him is that he's such a damn cute . . . BOY. And I think you've kept that personality well. The only thing that comes to mind to complain about, if that's what you want to call it, is the lack of other characters. I know this is a Sasunarusasu story, it's just that I feel like the other characters would be playing a bigger role. They are supposed to be friends/going to school together and all, right? And a lot of those that have been mentioned have only been done so only in passing. Except for Shikamaru, whom I really like, by the way. So, I guess I wish they were taking on a role somewhere on the level of what he has. It's a personal thing, so it's not like the story is suffering from it, I just think it could add another dimension. The other side of that is the Itachi issue. I keep reading the notes and expecting more from him, and then he's in the chapter for maybe two lines. But I assume he's going to play a bigger role later, I hope? Anyway, sorry for babbling on so long. I really just want to support you and let you know you're doing a good job. I'm just a freak that way!

Whoops, I guess I was a bit late to review the latest chapter.^_^; This chapter was extremely enjoyable, I think I smiled the whole way through. (Kinda weird for that to happen to me.) This was kinda funny/sweet.^^ Glad to see you managed to find your beta as well, I think i'll definatly be looking forward to the next chapters even more.(My review's a bit short but I have to get going and won't see a computer for a short while.^_^;; Hope you don't mind.)

This is the best Naruto fanfic I've ever read, AU or not.

Sakura is a character I generally dislike (hate if you'd like to get technical) but you've managed to make her not only tolerable, but likeable, and I'm actually looking forward to seeing more of her. Sasuke, while seeming a bit OC, is at the same time perfectly in character with all his wit, sarcasm, bluntness, and simple Sasuke sexiness. I think that your portrayal of Naruto's character has to be my favorite, though. If you could actually see inside his head, I believe his thoughts would read almost exactly as you wrote them: he's stubborn, denying, slightly rude, and awkward in his own charming way. You included everything that makes Uzumaki Naruto the blonde explosive he is, and it's pretty cute to watch him struggle with showing affection to Sasuke. x3

You've got amazing voice and I love your writing style, especially the descriptions and humor. This fic has made me laugh out loud, especially paragraph four of chapter one: "Not flamingly, limp-wristed, I-should-have-been-a-woman gay, but quiet, in the closet, I’m-so-sexy-I-could-turn-straight-guys gay." That's the best line I've heard in an extremely long time. Also, while you keep mentioning it, your fic really isn't that cliched - not like a good majority of the ones you find where Naruto's fallen in a deep state of depression and cuts himself, until an uncannily empathetic, worried, and angry Sasuke saves him from dying of attempted suicide at which point Naruto falls in love with him while continuing to have occasional bouts of hysteria. (And, even if the story's just a little cliched, your excellent writing makes up for it and allows it to stand apart from the other works like it.)

Oh, and to those complaining about the author's note and review responses: they need to get over it. It's as easy as scrolling down or clicking the next button, nobody's forcing them to read it. My only complaint about it is that it makes the chapter length a little deceiving, but, hey, cliffhangers keep you begging for more.

Anyways, I find myself loving your story. I'm also hoping that Itachi/Sasuke won't be *too* obvious (I'm just not a fan, but your work still rocks anyways) And since you squashed the chance of Itachi/Naruto, maybe you can add Gaara to the mix? Or some other character (I always liked people wanting Naruto. If Sasuke has his damn fanclub, Naruto should have more than one secret admired :D ) Also, any chance at seeing the Kakashi/Iruka pairing develope? I was laughing my ass off when I read the chapter where Naruto confronts Iruka.
