Cuuute. :) So now Sasuke will take Naruto out for his birthday? That's very nice of him. :) He'd probably love to have some cake the way he loved getting that ice cream. I guess Naruto knows best that life on the streets is somehow better than foster care, but it's sad seeing him homeless. I wonder, did Naruto have a bad experience at a foster home, or did he just feel tired of continually feeling like a visitor in someone else's home? Can't wait for the next chapter. :)

This has to be one of the most interesting stories I've read in a long time; a great work so far! Keep it up!

    Typo?:

"You like me because I steal necklaces?"
Sasuke gestured wildly, his eyes large.
"Yeah! You're crazy, man! Like you'd break a guy's nose right in front of our history teacher. Intense as fuck."

Shouldn't it have been "Suigetsu gestured wildly, his eyes large."?

Sasuke is lucky he has a poker face, otherwise with his nerves, that woman would have known something was up for sure. :P Kabuto is shady; it's pretty obvious why he was buying that scale. :P But the rest of Team Hawk is pretty cool. Suigetsu's hero worship is funny and Karin's crush is kinda sweet in an odd way, rather than annoying fangirly since it's not over the top. Hopefully nothing bad happens to Sasuke when he goes to that party...

I like the slice of life feel of this story. It comes across as more realistic to me than the usual SasuNaru/NaruSasu high school story. Sasuke isn't some ultra-rich elite, and Naruto isn't some woeful downtrodden mess with a princess complex (despite the poor guy being homeless). They're both just teenagers (troubled teenagers, but still recognizable as teenagers).

Have you ever volunteered at a soup kitchen? I have (and still do on occasion), and thought this wasn't a bad representation of what that experience might be like. For me, it's something I'm happy to do, but it also makes me sad seeing what the people I'm serving food have gone through. The homeless spend a lot of time being ignored/treated as invisible to society, so Naruto being chatty at the soup kitchen is understandable because it's a place where he won't get ignored. And he's a chatty person anyway, so he's probably got a lot of conversation stored up by the time he arrives at the kitchen. Despite Sasuke's bad attitude, he's probably cool to Naruto just for being his own age. Not too many kids Naruto can hang out with on the streets. :( Hope you write more of this!
