Reviews for Bloody Tears

DenimGiant is blunt, but correct. You can't let yourself crumple to this extent because one person decided to take their own frustrations out on you. Bad reviews happen. Go to Amazon.com and find a book that is considered to be great literature, taught in universities, even, and you will see plenty of bad reviews for it. Not every story is for every person. That is a fact. When you put something out there for public consumption, there are bound to be people who won't like it, and who will tell you about it. If you are old enough to be posting stories on this site then you are old enough to know that self-pity parties get you nowhere, which is pretty much how your apology chapter comes across. Continue writing if that is what you like to do. There are surely worse writers out there than you are, just as there are surely better writers. (Sadly, none of us are Shakespeare.) Enjoy your hobby and feel glad that your friends, who you originally wrote the story for, are happy with it. That's the audience who should matter most. If other people don't like the story, take what they have to say under advisement and use the criticism that makes the most sense to you to help you become a better writer. It's all anyone can do, really.

Hey... just thought I'd give you my two cents since you asked for some imput after a really bad review. My first suggestion... if you like writing... then write. Ultimately a person should do what they enjoy. Your story is a reflection of your ideas and interests and you shouldn't let one person dictate what you should do. Advice... sure take it or leave it. But don't let someone else take away your joy in something. I wouldn't delete negative reviews though. It makes it so that your loyal readers can't respond to what they said either.

Now a lot of people do not like original characters so if you want to make them the main character you should definitely put that in your description or you are opening yourself up for negative comments. Always be as clear as possible in the description so readers can find the stories they are looking for and you can find the right readers for your story.

Now I've skimmed and read through parts of your story (cause I rarely read M/F stories lol) and I think you put a lot of detail and planning into your storyline which is always a great thing. Plot is always a plus especially with all the PWP we love to read out there lol. As always it is up to the author whether to continue a story or not and you might choose to just finish it for you and your friends which is fine too. But don't stop writing. That's never the right choice :)
