I wasn't sure how this was going ot go, but I am really enjoying the interaction you have between Sasuke and Naruto- the fact that you didn't immediately toss them into bed together was a bit of happiness to- I enjoy the story of them learning about each other- I am enjoying this story-

You are very welcome! I'm enjoying this story quite a bit. ^_^ (TWO new chapters--Wow!) Realism is important for me as a reader as well. I think the more I can believe in what the characters are saying and doing, the more I can believe in the fic as a whole. I feel like I can sympathize more with Naruto knowing there's real people who live like this every day. Being homeless is a terrible thing. I think it shows care for the story, and respect for the plight of the homeless, that you've tried to show it like it is rather than exaggerating the situation and making it much better--or much worse--than it is.

As for the chapters, I find their run-ins interesting. There's a lot of things limiting Sasuke from being able to do more for Naruto. For one thing, Naruto is underage and doesn't want his identity known, so letting the police know that Naruto is a runaway would put him back in the situation he tried to escape from. (Those scars on his body are very worrisome.) For another, Naruto is basically a stranger and without knowing the circumstances of what led him to becoming homeless, it's difficult to know what would best help him, and what he would accept. Handouts seem to be out (argh! Naruto, why wouldn't you take the money for that hotel?), and Sasuke doesn't want to let Naruto "earn" the money sexually (thank god! if he'd said yes, he'd have been no better than Orochimaru), so what can Sasuke do?

I think, though, that even the small things Sasuke has managed to do--like buying Naruto a meal and preventing him from selling himself--are, in fact, having an effect on Naruto. I found it interesting that after walking away from Sasuke in that grocery store parking lot, that Naruto couldn't face selling himself again and felt compelled to get high. It's like he had a taste of what it was like to have someone care for him and that sort of brought the reality of his situation crashing down on his head and all he could do was escape from it by getting high. Maybe if Sasuke keeps doing what he's doing, and keeps treating Naruto with kindness and respect, maybe Naruto will finally ask him for help himself. (That might be the best solution in the end since Sasuke is right, you can't force someone to do something if they aren't willing.)

Will be interesting to see how things play out between them. They're sort of attracted to one another, but that's as far as it can go at the moment since Naruto is homeless and underaged...

This story is really interesting. I like how it's slowly building up to something. I'm guessing that his meeting is going to end up having something to do with Naruto which is going to cause him to have to look Naruto up and their interactions will make Naruto trust Sasuke enough to allow him to become involved in whatever it is. His father maybe?

What a lovely beginning to this story! Seems odd to say that given Naruto's situation, but you made me feel a lot of sympathy for both of these characters. I like that Sasuke is caring on the inside, even if he may come across as cold. I felt bad for Naruto how he was being chased by that guy from the convenience store, but momentarily forgot about his situation when he crashed into Sasuke. That's SO like Naruto. If he hadn't taken the time to apologize and ask if Sasuke was OK, maybe that guy wouldn't have caught him. :(

Naruto's whole situation is sad, how he has to take drugs and do things that make him "hate" himself just so he can survive. But I love how realistic you've kept everything. As a kid living on the streets, dealing drugs, prostitution, and who knows what else are the kinds of things he would have to do if he he wanted to survive, and taking drugs becomes a necessary evil since it helps keep him from feeling hungry and dwelling on the horrors of life on the streets. And on Sasuke's end, I like that he decided to buy Naruto a meal because he's a caring person; it's the sort of thing a caring person would do, and it makes me like Sasuke even more (and gives him some depth as a character) that he would be capable of this despite his outward personality, and despite being a famous lawyer. (And personally, I don't like scenarios where Sasuke is cruel to the whole world but kind and self-sacrificing when it comes to Naruto because Naruto is just that "special" compared to everyone else.) I also found it realistic that Sasuke thought about offering Naruto a place to stay but didn't. No matter how sympathetic Sasuke may be to Naruto's plight, Naruto is still a stranger to him.

Well, now that Naruto knows who he is, hopefully he'll find a way for him and Sasuke to meet again. I REALLY want things to get better for Naruto. Despite everything that's happened to him, Naruto is, shockingly, still a good kid. He deserves to have a better life than the one he's leading. Hopefully since he's a lawyer with all sorts of connections and knowledge about how the system works, Sasuke can help him with that...
