Yay! New tales... but bummer. Poor Haku. Would he be happier if someone managed to locate one of his blood relatives?

This was wonderful! It was a good look into Rin's and Dan's relationship, and Rin's psyche. Ordinarily I find it easy to dislike her, despite her efforts as medico. Now I should see her in a different light as I read on.

I want Naruto to live forever.

if what happened to his family causes that much pain, maybe Shika should track down survivers for him.

Boy, I could stand to see a video of Itachi throwing knives at Kisame from a tabletop to get his attention! Man, that was HOT!

    I love Haku.

Aww, poor Lee, being stuck in such a small space with the one he unrequitedly loves. Interesting developments, indeed! And it's good to see Kakashi opening more up to Iruka, and opening his cage. Iruka was trapped, big time.. More Gaara & Lee! Or Shikamaru & Neji :P

hi, i've been reading your work for a while now, and i'm thoroughly enjoying this interesting, intricate universe you've created. your premises are fascinating, your characters warm, your expression is pleasant to read even while it includes so much new vocabulary, which is impressive. it's wonderful to get a sense of the possibility of change, and of the acceptance of difference in community, both of which make me happy and maybe a little more inclined to find them in the real world, than to lament their lack!

you asked who we'd like to see a tale about; i'd actually like to see something on hamaki, terai and fu. they're in an interesting situation, but i think they're the least developed characters that i've noticed. you seem to have suggested that they're three older fighters in a very self-contained, functional three-way relationship, and i'd really like to see how that works. were they together through the presumably hard times before your story starts? what do they do in this new order? how do they interact with the others? do they have personalities

the other thing i'd like to see more of, is women's perspectives. you've set up a very male dominated universe, with this household having relatively progressive values. the women are lucky to be here where they're seen as not-less-than-men, but they're still living in a male-dominated situation, in an overtly discriminatory world, and they don't seem to have the rich interpersonal connections the men have. they're attached to one man or one role, which is very accurate to many real-world societies where women were allowed power within the household, or maybe some job where they've fought to have their skills recognised, but never outside in the wider world; yet you've set up a whole ship full of women, a very radical idea in its context, which surely must've changed that dynamic for those involved. what you've shown us, however, is neither community development nor reasons why it's still problematic. your women seem to have no more limitations on them than the men in the household, yet still don't take up their freedoms. we don't see them being much involved in family life, and in a society where sex is highly valued, they don't seem to be having much. where nearly all the male characters are paired up, only a few of the female ones are, and never with eachother, even despite many having been living in close quarters together on their own ship. why is this? if women are so horribly devalued in wider society that they're not likely to view themselves as sexual beings unless some man happens to come up and take a liking to them, then surely even that would have consequences that aren't being shown!
i'm very aware that this is how history tends to work, with women's interactions sidelined, and their relationships with other women buried even more. people who are ignored by history could be doing absolutely anything behind the scenes, but whether they are or aren't, and why, is not recorded. i think that 'why' is one of the most interesting and meaningful things we can find as we slowly try to reclaim real-world history from a variety of perspectives. your stories are not trying to be history, though, especially as you have foregrounded relationships rather than positions or offices, nations of some sort and exploits.

your universe is set up with some potentially very interesting female characters, and even more interesting changes in personal and societal opinions starting to happen due to the exciting new hybrid movement. i look forward to seeing how it all unfolds, and eagerly await each installment that you generously make public!
    thanks,
    kate
