    There is an anime series, can't remember the name right now, but it revolves around dreamcatchers. What they do is almost exactly what you wrote. I don't know if the artist and the anime people took knowledge from general folklore or whatnot, but I think the ideas are out there enough for you to feel ok about using the idea. I like how you wrote it and from what I seen of that anime could easily picture it. Good luck.

    Seriously though, this is such an original concept to me that has the potential to be richly developed. I look forward to you updating this thing and hopefully, jdillon82 wont have a problem with it either.
