i'm in a fanfiction-spree (of your stories) and am loving it!! screw studying math!! hahah >.> uhh, anyway, this story is really cute. the dictionary is amusing. i love the fact that it's pretty cheeky. hehe. i just hope it's not some weird evil book though (has some flashbacks of harry potter book 2). neji's unexpected last words were awesome! came out of nowhere! hahah! poor naruto. im as eager as naruto for sasuke to come back so we can see the book's magic work! great job on the story.

Just one thing that I forgot in my previous review. Neji's comment on Naruto's relationship with Sasuke was it because he knows that once Sasuke returns he will make or try to make Naruto his lover? Is that why he told him that if he didnt like the way Sasuke came onto him, he *Neji* could take the spot as his lover and best friend? That is the only reason I can come up with this facet of Neji. Why else would Sasuke stop being Naruto's best friend? Ow well, please just update soon!

What can I say? I love the story. I am just anxious to see Sasuke return and see the interaction between them and the aftermath with the dic. Obviously everyone seems to be aware of Sasuke's *crush* for Naruto if Neji is to be believed. However, is Naruto going to put it all together with the help of the dic or is Sasuke going to grip his balls and tell Naruto how he feels? Sasuke should have the guts to tell Naruto how he feels.

Neji has a thing for Naruto...How will Sasuke take that or is he already aware of that? Just update asap and give the dic the opportunity to *hear/feel* Sasuke so he can dissect him with Naruto. I love this idea!

God, your stories are amazing. I really dont know what to tell you. They aRE that great. I love them. I want to be emailed for this story too! Please!

No.No.No. First of all, I want you to understand that this is not a flame. However, it is a very harsh critique of what could have been a fascinating story. I'm sorry, but I don't like it anymore. I did through the first 2 chapters (the way the book translated in the 2nd chapter was spot on), but then the book took on a personality of it's own. I liked it better when the book was just a straight translation, leaving Naruto to figure what to do with the information by himself. The book was a tool used to kick off a devilish little plan devised by our sly little fox. A tool that would help him grow as a person, as he figures out how to relate to others after knowing the meanings behind their words, as well as spurring on his ninja development(the main appeal of Naruto, in my opinion) by formulating ways in which to use the feedback he obtained (a prime ninja skill).
Now the book has become it's own character. Naruto doesn't have to think for himself now, because the book gives him all the answers. He's being led by the book. Even if the book was to only give him 1/2 the answer, or tell him to figure it out on his own, it's still an outside motivator as opposed to a device used for inner discovery.
I read the Harry Potter book, and saw the movie, but only once and right after their respective releases. (I like HP, but am not immersed into the fandom) I thought I remembered that the book in that story had it's own personality (I could be wrong, though). That would make your story even more like HP, wouldn't it?
I do hope you consider reworking this story. It started out interesting enough. I saw potential for character development on multiple levels, as well as action (and lemon) sequences. While these things are still possible with the story as is, I believe this book has become more of an Original Character that takes the focus away from the main players. One example I gave was not allowing Naruto to ascertain his findings. The conversation between Kakashi and Tsunade could have been interpreted a few different ways, even with the translations. However, thanks to the book giving him the answers, Naruto now knows it is because "they care about him very much". Without that book butting in, Naruto would have been left to draw his own conclusion. It's the same situation in the conversation with Neji. How will it affect the other players? Much in the same way it affects Naruto. Just because you may be able to see the hidden meanings behind people's words, doesn't mean that you can figure out what exactly they're thinking. Yet, the book takes that away. Not only does Naruto lose his chance to "figure things out", but everybody else loses their chance to hide.
You see, even without the book, Naruto can learn to read the hidden meanings behind people's words, but he would still have to move solo from there on. This book should have been a stepping stone for Naruto to become more in tune, not only to those around him and in his ninja skills, but with Sasuke as well.
Not to mention that this book now has quite a few unappealing qualities. First off, it's a know-it-all ("I�m a dictionary, Naruto. I know all"). It can discern a person's true feelings simply from knowing their words. Plus, it's attempting to act as some sort of teacher for Naruto. Plus, (and I really don't mean to be offensive but I know of no better way to say this) the dialogue of the book is very poor attempt at sounding wise. Instead, it sounds like he's talking to a girlfriend that's "been around the block a time or two" and has "got life all figured out".
After all of this, it would appear as if I had nothing but negative things to say about your story, but I want you to know that I really enjoyed everything (concept and all) until the 3rd chapter. I saw so much potential for this to be a really charming story full of character growth and interaction. I was excited when I first started reading, and I even looked forward to the update. However, this latest chapter and the introduction of the Original Character (the personality of the book) has truly killed it for me. However, I may not be your target audience. I want smut, oh yes I do, but for an extended story I need that smuttiness to be wrapped around a well-developed tale. However, the addition of the book's personality takes away the potential for deeper character growth, and turns the plot into a superficial connection to a love story. Pretty much reminiscent of your typical chic flic.
So, in my opinion, this fic can be great, or it can by typical. I do hope you reconsider your path in this tale. And once again, I really like your first 2 chapters. Feel free to email me if you care to discuss my opinions or if you need any further explanation on why I came to them.

In Chapter 3 the dictiontary said that it didn't hear Sasuke yet in fact it did in the first chapter.
I�m going to begin my mission now. I will be waiting for you here in one week, Kakashi. And Sakura, tell the Hokage that I appreciate that she has so much faith in me after all that�s happened.�

Sasuke then disappeared, but not before Naruto gave him a slightly disbelieving look. What just came out of the Uchiha�s mouth was not something Naruto expected. Sasuke showing any type of gratitude was strange. The asshole hadn�t even thanked him when he�d saved him from the snake-bastard, and now he was thanking Tsunade for letting him do a mission on his own?

Naruto�s eyes dropped back to dictionary, and he almost gasped in shock.

And Sakura, tell the Hokage that I appreciate that she has so much faith in me after all that�s happened. � (Statement of apparent gratitude): And Sakura, tell the Hokage that her spies have not gone unnoticed, and it�s getting old fast.

That is what it said in the first chapter.

Cliffhanger's are NOT a bad thing. It leaves them wanting more. USE THAT!

As for me, I just hope you update... Eventually. 'Cause to leave such a cliffhanger then NEVER UPDATING AGAIN would SUCH. Especially since your stories have this nasty habit of rocking my socks like nobodies business and becoming all drug like and whatnot.

oooh your killing me, even with the dictionary i myself got a bit confussed by the whole only you dont know Naruto yet your the only one who really can thingy..lol..but this was good, so Neji has a crush on Naru baby?? hehe, awwwwwwww too cute, but Sasuke?? Sasuke is going to leave him? not be his friend anymore?? or better yet Lover?? noooooooooooosssss *sniffles* btw the crack about naruto being a virgin then he should wear a chastity belt had me cracking up loved it, hey you think the book can read Kyuubi's thoughts or what ever?? if maybe naru was touching the book and talking to Kyuu??? then he could find out more about the fox and wether the fox hates him and wants to eat him or what ever, ok Im babbling, sorry, loved this chapter and cant wait for more, ty for the great raed, huggles and smiles Mija...:-)
