Reviews for Reflections (Abandoned WIP)

So, I was browsing through Naruto fiction, and saw Spartan Ninjas. I read it through, despite it being abandoned, and liked the story. I accepted the reason for you being unable to finish Spartan Ninjas, because I understand how detrimental a change in writing styles and plotlines can be to a story. I jumped to another story Reflections, and it was abandoned again. However, you assured your readers that Reflections would definitely be finished in the last chapter of Spartan Ninjas, and I see this as totally going back on your words, holding the chapters ransom for a particular number of reviews. I don't want to take the moral high ground and sound preachy, but this site has a culture of people reviewing less than on other sites, for example FFnet. If you ask for a certain number of reviews in order to release the next chapter, you'll be getting people hacked off at you. Publish on another site instead. I hope I'll be able to find you on FFnet.

Ok, so I know this story hasn't been updated in over five years and has 'Abandoned' on it, but it seems a shame to not continue. I remember reading this years ago when I first started reading on here and loved it. I didn't review at the time because I didn't have an account and you don't have the anonymous review feature enabled. While I may not like the idea of you not posting a new chapter unless receiving a set amount of reviews I can understand why you'd feel that way here. I've noticed that authors on this site tend to get much less reviews than on fanfiction.net. (For example, one of my fics on here has just over 50 reviews while the same story on ffnet has close to 300.) Have you ever thought of posting on there? I would imagine this same story would garner well over 1,000 reviews or considerably higher on ffnet. Whether you decide to continue or just leave it abandoned, I simply wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed this story.

It makes me sad that it says that this story is abandoned... It's lovely. Since the author's note said you'd post more if you got 75 reviews, I joined AFF just so I could review and hopefully add to the clamor for more!
My one dislike about this story is the format. It sometimes gets confusing to keep track of who is saying what because everything is in the first person. You might consider putting the name of who will be speaking next within the characters you use to indicate a shift in character perspective. Other than that, this is beautifully written.

It's such a shame that such a good story will not be finished because the writers are selfish, attention grabbers. Yes, you do have the right to ask for feedback for your work, but demanding a certain number of reviews in order to get an update is just disgusting. There are writers just as good, if not better out there writing just because they like to. Honestly, I can't believe people would be so selfish. I understand that it's really annoying when you post a new chapter and no one reviews, but you guys take it too far. Now, all of your loyal readers who've reviewed and genuinely loved your stories will not get to see the end of it. Good job, you've just completely missed the point of creative writing.

I'm an author here myself, so I know that it is frustrating not getting the amount of reviews you'd hoped for in the new chapters. However, demanding them, and in such large quantity, is ridiculous. I write because I like it, the fact that people read and review my stuff makes me happy. Especially because I know they are reviewing because they want to, and not because I'm holding the chapters ransom.

I love this story! It's absolutely phenomenal. There's a great balance between description and plot! In my opinion, though, you could stand to have a tiny bit more physical description of setting? I still really love what you're doing, but I have this image in my mind that I'm not entirely sure is the same that you're imagining. And before you think "why are you thinking about setting when there's so much else going on?" but for me it lends itself strongly to determining the mood of the setting. Though I love how well you've developed your characters, this is possibly one of the best fics I've ever read, because of the raw emotion you imbue in the story. Thank you so much! This is the second or third time I'm reading this, and it's just sooooo good, but I really want to know how it works out for them. It's too emotional to just leave as-is... you're so mean!

Please please don't give up on this story. You are so loved! I don't know the reasons why, but it makes me so very sad. Your writing is so inspirational and lovely and I really do not want to see you give up on this gorgeous piece. I'm sure a lot of people are behind me on this one and I hope you can reconsider. T__T

Just wanted to let you know that I am re-reading this fic for the 3rd time and fell in love with it all over again. This fic is one of the most heart-wrenching and most beautiful fics I had ever read and I wanted to thank you so much for writing this. I hope you will be continuing this treasure and that Sasuke's surgery will be successful and heal Naruto's heartache. Once agin, thank you so much for sharing this lovely piece! I enjoyed every chapter immensely! Please do keep up the wonderful work! :D

    Wow.

I don't know how old this story is (I found it via 'search') and I hope to god its still updating because it is fantastic. I'm seriously impressed and want you to know I read the whole thing in almost one sitting. (I took a break for sleep.)

    Amazing.

Now, for my favorite parts... The constant back and forth between Naruto's and Sasuke's povs ws fantastic. I also loved all the Fox interjections and replies in his thoughts. The story itself was well done and nothing is rushed. The characters are remarkably well fleshed out and in character and their relationship is exceptionally believable. I feel bad for the two as they never catch a break. Its a wonderful story, really. I imagine this insanely long chapters take forever to write and I hope you continue to produce them. ^^ (Anything I can do to encourage an update? Fan art? Heh.) Keep up the great work. I'll be looking forward to the next chapter. :D

So, in January 2006 you rudely demanded 15 reviews before posting again and over a year and a half later you apparently didn't get your way despite over 30,000 hits. I wish I'd read further before commenting last night or I wouldn't have left a review either but since I did I guess I'll violate my non-posting for review blackmailers rule once more to say that I hope that in the meantime you two have grown up a little and one day decide to write because that is what you enjoy doing instead of as a way to get attention from strangers. You are good story tellers it's a shame that you had to spoil my enjoyment of your story by subjecting the readers to such antics. You didn't need to do it and you probably cost yourself reviews from people like me who normally leave feedback but refuse to do so if demanded to. If you don't enjoy writing enough to do it for its own sake then there are plenty of other hobbies out there that are less demanding. Perhaps you have already found one and that's the reason for no update. In which case I hope your new endeavors go well and that you already look back on this stage of your life with a more mature perspective.

Just finished chapter one and before I head off to bed I had to leave a review. This first chapter could stand on its on but I'm glad that there is still plenty of story left. The structure is interesting and although sometimes it takes me a line to catch up with whose POV we're in after a switch it adds a lot to the development of the story. That even in Naruto's POV we don't hear what the fox is actually saying is intriguing. I really like how Sasuke is able to step in and intimidate the fox. It must think that if it can drive Naruto nuts it will somehow weaken the seal and it will get free. Having someone remind it that there are others with power over it may make it back down a little or it could fight back more before it's forced to behave. Either way there is potential for an interesting story. Even though there are already hints of yaoi you've kept Naruto and Sasuke in character with any changes being believable ones for them having aged a few years.

My god, you people are amazingly talented authors! You put so much depth into the characters without changing how they act in the anime/manga. For the last 3 days I've been addicted to this story and reading it every chance I got, and now that I know that you have more stories you can bet I'll be reading those too. I need to know what happens next, so no matter what don't stop writing this story, PLEASEEEEE!!!!!! I can wait just don't stop!

Oh duuuude......you kill me seriously. HOW FRIGGIN AWESOME THIS FIC IS!!!! I loved every chapter and devoured every paragraph like there's no tomorrow. The last two chapters especially brought tears to my eyes. Poor Naruto having suffered for so long chained up broke my very heart. I'm so happy that even tho Sasuke has amnesia, he is still alive. Their love grows so strong everyday and my heart warms up every moment they are together. I applaud this wonderful and rare fic that I had stumbled across. It's so hard to find great, LONG, angsty and heartwarming fics such as this. Thank you so much for sharing this and I hope you will continue writing this beautiful piece. :D
