Wonderful piece! I am so glad to see that there are some people who actually take this subject matter seriously. I've been finding the growing popularity of rape as a plot devise to be more than a little disturbing. It's everywhere, and what's worse is that it's romanticized all to hell! Far too many authors tend to brush off the terrible ramifications, treating this like it's no big deal, like rape is something minor and forgivable. I think you've got an excellent bit of social commentary here. And it really is gratifying in a way to know that you were motivated enough to put in the time and effort to get your message out.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

To tell the truth, when I read the summary of this fic, I thought, 'Crap, another rape fic, when will this stupidity end?' As someone who had worked with abused children, I find it extremely distrubing that in a fandom such as Naruto, rape fics has started to pop out everywhere.

But upon finishing in reading your story, I will have to applaud you. This story is far beyond what I thought it would be and that is a surprise in itself. The fact that Sasuke was abused in his youth, and the reasons for it, are quite believable though I might have to disagree at some points (i.e. if Itachi even got wind of Sasuke being abused, he would have killed them with no mercy and no chance of him taking the flack for it).

Naruto as Sasuke's only hope for normalcy is really well done, and the added angst of them having their first child (thank Christ you didn't make this into an Mpreg) in the midst of such a tragedy...ahh, their relationship will never be normal, will it? I have to agree with you, though, on how the Sandaime took things. I wondered many times why no one bothered with Naruto when he was younger in canon, and if the Sandaime was always there for him, why couldn't he have made sure that Naruto weren't treated in such a dismal way? Sure, maybe it's because he's busy being Hokage as well, but there has got to be some way for Naruto not to have grown so alone, you know?

However, the only problem I would have with this story is some shifts in grammar tense, and a few typos. But other than that, I have nothing else to say.

Keep up the good work, and I wait patiently for the next chapter.
